The story was wonderful and I felt like I was riding on the train and experiencing everything along with the characters. The audible version also added in music and added sounds make the story really come alive. Can’t wait to see the movie version as well.
It had a little something for everyone in this absolutely wonderful tale!
Loved it!!!!
It’s a fun Christmas story. Not the usual tale. David Baldacci is one of my favorite authors, he did not disappoint.
This was an enjoyable story with an ending that surprised me. Set on a cross-country train ride at Christmas, featuring a chance meeting with the “one who got away,” and an intriguing cast of characters—what’s not to like?
Listening was a treat as well, as train sounds marked the chapter breaks and added a bit of unobtrusive ambience.
“Most folk who ride trains could care less where they’re going. For them it’s the journey itself and the people they meet along the way.”
That quote by retired train worker, Higgins, sums up the lovely spirit of this engaging story. Having enjoyed the Hallmark movie by the same title, I was eager to read the book itself. It’s a warm, feel-good …
A great book for the holidays!
Didn’t see this ending coming
Love all of David’s work
Have never been disappointed
I really like David Baldacci’s books. This book is more of a character study than an adventure novel but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
My favorite Christmas book! Better than the movie
Great Book.
Not what I am used to with David Baldacci, but a great read. Kept me hooked til the end. The twists with the characters were surprising, but made sense.
Loved this book easy Christmas reading and one of my fav Hallmark movies…the audio book was read by Tim Matheson who did a wonderful job!
A bit different from his usual page turning political thrillers, but a wholesome story with good characters and a nice Christmas message about caring and putting yourself out there emotionally.
His books are always a great read. Treat yourself to this one.
I saw the movie before I read the book, and now I’d like to see the movie again. The characters were fascinating, the setting romantic and the interactions of the characters made this a new Christmas classic.
A little mystery, a little romantic, a dash of humour, throw in a train ride and you get a perfect Christmas relaxing, read. Enjoy!
I was surprised that one of my favorite authors would write a holiday book, but I loved this book when it was first released and make a point to read it every December. And, I was delighted when it was made into a Hallmark movie, which I also enjoyed. 🙂
I’m not much of a romance reader, but The Christmas Train is a great Chrismas read. It certainly puts you in the spirit.

I’ve seen David Baldacci’s name everywhere lately so I figure it’s time to give in to all the hard work these marketing folks are doing. Having never read a Baldacci novel before, I picked The Christmas Train since I watched the Hallmark movie about 10 times last Christmas. It’s OK, ten times isn’t excessive. It only aired about 200 times. …
