A holiday retelling of You’ve Got Mail that will make you fall in love with the Christmas Season! Angela Carson wants nothing more than to be the third-generation to run her family’s holiday store, Heart of Christmas, successfully. They’ve weathered … Heart of Christmas, successfully. They’ve weathered over sixty tourist seasons, major hurricanes, and urban sprawl, in their old decommissioned lighthouse. But the national chain that set up shop in their small North Carolina town of Pleasant Sands may be more than Heart of Christmas can survive.
Encouraged by her niece to ask Santa for help through the Dear Santa app, Angela gives in and lets the words fly in a way that, if Santa were real, would no doubt land her on the naughty list. What’s the harm when it’s just a computer-generated response?
Geoff Paisley has been at his mother’s side running the mega-chain Christmas Galore for the last ten years. When his mother falls ill, Geoff promises to answer the Dear Santa letters in her stead. Soon he realizes the woman he’s been corresponding with on Dear Santa is Angela. How could the woman that grates his every last nerve in person have intrigued him so deeply through those letters?
When Geoff reveals that he’s her Dear Santa, will Angela be able to set aside their very public feud to embrace the magic of the holiday and possibly find true love?

Dear Santa was a heart-warming Christmas Story from author Nancy Naigle. It is a retelling of one of my favorite movies, You’ve Got Mail and Ms. Naigle did an amazing job with this story.
Angela Carson has been running her family store, Heart of Christmas since her grandmother passed away. The store sells high quality Christmas decorations and has been in trouble for some time. When Christmas Galore, a mega-chain discount store moves into town, Heart of Christmas seriously has very little chance of staying open. I loved that Angela’s adorable niece talks her into writing to letter on the “Dear Santa” app to ask for a Christmas miracle. Unknown to Angela, none other than Geoff Paisley, one of the owners of Christmas Galore takes over answering the Dear Santa letters from his mother and starts communicating with Angela not knowing who she actually is. I absolutely loved while they were each fighting for their companies; they were becoming fast friends through their email communication.
Dear Santa gave me all the happy feels as I read it. It was truly just such a feel-good story with a slow building romance between two people who look at business pretty differently, yet were each attracted to the other from the first moment they saw each other. They really just seemed to get one another via email message in a way they couldn’t react in person because of their businesses. I love the banter between Angela and Geoff and especially love the slow moving sweet romance. I’ve said it many times before, that Nancy Naigle writes stories that are absolutely perfect for Hallmark movies and have to reiterate it here. I know when I pick up a book from Nancy that I’m going to get a solid romance that is going to leave me with a smile as I read it.
I’ve enjoyed each of the stories I’ve read from Nancy Naigle since I first discovered her books many years ago. I have to say that Dear Santa is absolutely one of her best stories to date. I highly recommend Ms. Naigle’s books to readers who enjoy sweet romances with lots of emotion.

It’s sweet and heartwarming story. It’s captivating as it pulls at your heartstrings from the beginning. I loved the characters. I enjoyed the connection, the banter and the chemistry between the characters. It’s a cute and entertaining story that has the magic of Christmas. This story is definitely not to be missed.
This book will seriously tug at your heartstrings. Angela Carson is holding on the Heart of Christmas, a store in remembrance of her great-grandmother and Momma Grace. The quaint shop has been part of Pleasant Sands for decades and the end of an era is coming to a close. Geoff Paisley is the big bad boss of the store that is putting them out of business. You will love his Mom and the things she gets him to promise to do. You will love the start of each chapter. You will enjoy the way these two fall in love. It won’t be easy but anything worth having is worth the angst.
Dear Santa by Nancy Naigle
What an amazing sweet entertaining Christmas story!
Anita and Geoff ~ town of Pleasant Sands
Anita runs Heart of Christmas
Geoff is a co-owner of Christmas Galore
Anita is worried her shop will close since Galore opened
I fully enjoy Christmas stories when the time is near. This story surely didn’t leave disappointed! Loved it!
What a cute Christmas story! It’s a spin on the ‘You’ve Got Mail’ storyline but with Christmas stores in a tourist town. Angela is a character that felt that I would be friends with. This makes a story more enjoyable to me. A new store had moved to town and has contributed to her shop failing. Geoff is the owner of the new Christmas store in town. The two have very different philosophies for their businesses and end up butting heads sometimes in public ways. In a twist of events, Angela writes a letter to Santa and Geoff ends up being “Santa”. The story was entertaining and left me feeling happy. The perfect Christmas story! The children’s letters to Santa at the beginning of each chapter were fantastic. I received an advance copy for an honest review.
Loved this Christmas romance with a spinoff of, You’ve Got Mail. Angela’s passion is running her family’s Christmas Store, Heart of Christmas but this will be the last season since a Christmas chain store has arrived in Pleasant Sands. Her niece encouraged her to write a letter to Santa, needless to say Santa is the owner of the new Christmas store, Geoff. Even though they are stiff in competition in person they soon develop a correspondence in emails. Soon Geoff realizes who he is corresponding with, can this feud end up with true love.
This is a sweet clean romance that has Hallmark written all throughout the story. Loved all of the letters to Santa. I would love to move to Pleasant Sands. I recommend this story while drinking your chocolate coffee.
Angela is the third generation running her shop Heart of Christmas. But a national chain store has opened close by with their cheap decorations and other items. This will likely impact her revenue and she fears she may have to close the shop!
She starts to write to Santa, not realizing the man answering the letters is the handsome Geoff whom she met in a coffee shop. And Geoff is the owner of the new chain store! He figures out he is answering Angela’s letters to Santa, but he is attracted to her and doesn’t want the communication to end.
This is a sweet Christmas story in the lines of You’ve Got Mail! Although we knew the plot and ending, the ride is sweet and is a great start to the holiday romance season.
I received an ARC of this book courtesy of NetGalley. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and given freely.
“…it’s sometimes in the winds of change that we find our true direction.”
Dear Santa is a sweet romance set in Pleasant Sands, North Carolina. When Angela Carson, owner of Heart of Christmas, finds her business failing, her niece suggests she write to Santa for a solution. Goaded into writing, her letter sets her in the path of Greg Paisley, owner of Christmas Galore, a warehouse-type store in direct competition with Angela’s. What ensues is a tender story, well written and well paced, that confirms that taking a risk personally and professionally can lead to a new direction in life and love. Embodying the spirit of Christmas, Dear Santa will turn out to be a favorite year round.
Dear Santa is a heartwarming, holiday version of “You’ve Got Mail” – which I personally love, so this was a charming read for me and perfect to get someone in the holiday spirit!
This is a warm and touching Christmas story. It certainly retells “You’ve Got Mail”, but with a Christmas theme and original elements. Angela and Geoff are believable characters, and the town of Pleasant Sands seems like a great place to visit! There is a lot of emotion and heart in the book. Highly recommended!
Dear Santa by Nancy Naigle. I received the Kindle book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Tradition. Tradition is extremely important to Angela Carson. Her family has been associated with the lighthouse near her hometown since her great-great-grandfather worked there, since her grandparents purchased it after it was decommissioned. Now she owns the it and the very traditional Christmas store Heart of Christmas inside the lighthouse. Her Christmas decorations are exquisite, but her business is being threatened by a knockoff big-box-type store Christmas Galore. Can the two stores and their two owners coexist? Or do new traditions need to be created?
The title comes from a series of letters Angela’s niece Chrissy persuades her to write to what she initially thinks is an automated site. Soon she realizes the responses are being written by a real person, a very caring person who gives her good advice.
While the book reads like a Hallmark movie, I enjoy Hallmark movies. It is also reminiscent of the Tom Hanks/Meg Ryan movie You’ve Got Mail. A familiar plot written with humor, love and sweet romance. I thoroughly enjoyed it
Fantastic! A Hallmark holiday movie in a book. Angela Carson has been working hard to keep her family’s Christmas shop up and running but when a big box Christmas store opens in town it’s the final blow and she’s afraid the end is near. To add insult to injury Geoff Paisley is the most arrogant, infuriating and, darn it, attractive man she’s ever met. He’s also the head of the big box monster. Now not only does she have to come to terms with the fact that she’ll need to close her beloved store but she has to see Geoff all over town.
Don’t miss this wonderfully written, sweet holiday read. I highly recommend it.
If you are a fan of the movie “You’ve Got Mail” then you are going to enjoy this book!
Pleasant Sands NC is a quaint beach town that has a huge influx of visitors during the summer. It sounded like a place I wouldn’t mind visiting (in the off season!). Angela is quite the fixture in this town, she has lived here nearly her whole live and has quite a few facts in her head about the town and its history. I loved the “fact of the day” at the beginning of each chapter. Geoff is a recent addition to the town via his store Christmas Galore. Geoff isn’t very likable in the beginning. He and Angela seem to bring out the worst in each other. But over time and with different situations they are able to form a friendship.
While I thought part of this book was predictable, I truly enjoyed the characters and situations. I am not a fan of Angela’s sister Marie. Maybe it was the lawyer in her, but she was abrasive and while she may have had her sister’s best interests at heart, she could have used some lessons in diplomacy.
Overall an enjoyable read especially if you like sweet romances and small towns.
We give this 4 paws up.
This was a sweet, sad book. The book is a enemies to lovers troupe. There is no swearing, kissing or anything like that in this book. I pretty much had tears in my eyes for most of this book. I felt so bad for Angela and her losing the Heart of Christmas. I did see exactly where the story was going to end but it was still sad to read. The ending was a tad unlikely but it was still how it should have ended. Overall I did enjoy this book and it’s a sweet Christmas Story. Thank makes you fall in love with the town of Pleasant Sands.
*I received a free copy of this book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review.*
What a fun Christmas themed take on “You’ve Got Mail”. I thought it was a heartwarming romance. Once of my favorite things were the Santa letters and town history quotes at the beginning of each chapter. I love how Pleasant Sands, Angela, and the Santa letters opened Geoff’s eyes to what is truly important in in life. The author portrayed such a warm, loving community in Pleasant Sands full of life, laughter, family, and tradition. I enjoyed reading this sweet Christmas romance.
Thank you to the author, publisher, and Netgalley for an advance copy, and these are my unbiased opinions.
I love this time of year when Christmas romance books start to be released. Christmas Romance is one of my favorite genres to read. Nancy Naigle is one of my favorite authors for this genre. This author’s latest addition to her Christmas stories is titled Dear Santa. In this story the heroine, Angela Cartwright is struggling to keep open Heart of Christmas, the store in a historic lighthouse she inherited from the grandmother who raised her and her sister. What really drives the last nail in the coffin of Heart of Christmas is the chain store Christmas Galore opening in her home town of Pleasant Sands, North Carolina. This chain is owned by the hero of the story, Geoff Paisley and his mother. Nancy Naigle has written some strong but very likeable characters in these two. I enjoyed how they go from confrontation, to apologies, to friends, to a Happily Ever After.
Once again Nancy Naigle has written a sweet Christmas story. She has filled the pages of this book with a town full of generous people who embody the Christmas spirit. This leads to a heartwarming, caring Christmas story that serves to wake up the Christmas spirit for all readers.
Nancy Naigle has written a heart warming Christmas story. This is a story about family, tradition and love. The chapter headers with historical facts or letters to Santa were wonderful. If you love hallmark movies, you will love this book!
Cute retelling of You’ve Got Mail with a Christmas theme and a fun beach town as a setting. It’s the old story we’ve all read before, the small, sweet family run shop with a long history being threatened by a large, heartless chain store that will scoop up the customers with their ability to slash prices and run sales.
The main characters are well rounded and people I’ve love to chat with. I was drawn to them immediately. What really made the book for me were the letters to Santa and the facts about the town that were at the beginning of each chapter. I found myself really looking forward to those.
If you enjoy Christmas novels, love stories that build slowly and are pretty clean and books that should be Hallmark Channel movies, this book is for you, as it was for me.
This is the first book I have read by Nancy Naigle and it won’t be the last I really enjoyed this Christmas Tale not only do I love stories about this time of year I also love finding new authors so this was always going to be a win win for me.
Angela owns and runs Heart of Christmas a store her grandmother started, it’s an upmarket Christmas Shop but she is struggling to keep the doors open and she believes it’s all because of the new shop in town Christmas Galore a superstore selling Christmas on the cheap….When Angela meets Geoff for the first time the attraction is instant but he is the enemy he owns and runs the superstore and several others with the help of his mother. Can two people with sizzling chemistry move past their conflict in their businesses….guess you need to one click to find that out.
This story flows and it’s easy to read with loveable characters and it’s set in what should be the happy season, I’m looking forward to reading more from this very talented author.
I received a copy of Dear Santa written by Nancy Naigle from NetGalley in exchange for a fair review. This is the first time I have read anything written by Nancy Naigle and enjoyed the sweet Christmas romance.
Angela Carson is third generation to run her family’s holiday store, Heart of Christmas in Pleasant Sands, NC. Weathering over sixty years of recessions, hurricanes, and tourist seasons, she has come up against mega store Christmas Galore and might have met her match. She becomes so desperate, she writes a letter on her niece’s Dear Santa app asking for help.
Geoff Paisley is very focused on the success of his family store and its growing success, he forgets to stop and enjoy life and holidays. When his mom goes into the hospital, she demands Geoff steps in and answers the Dear Santa letters. Coming across Angela’s letter touches his heart and he begins to email her on his own. However, when the two meet face to face in town, fireworks ignite. As Geoff begins to realize Angela is the writer of the Dear Santa request, he begins to see things differently and Angela begins to realize her attitude is affecting her friends and family. But can they come together and create a HEA?
A sweet You’ve Got Mail remix with cut characters and enjoyable situations. There were times when it felt that Naigle was writing circles but I still enjoyed the book. #DearSanta #NetGalley
