The Christmas Room is the perfect holiday read, and it’s a book to cherish any time of the year. Catherine Anderson doesn’t shy away from characters who face life’s toughest challenges–but she also gifts readers with a romantic tale that celebrates the hope and resilience of the human spirit.
This is a wonderful story and to me was realistic. I loved the characters and highly recommend this book.
The premise and the story itself was very good and very entertaining. However, the foul language, which I thought was excessive and quite unnecessary, ruined a lot of it for me.
I enjoyed the characters and how their stories progressed and how the characters changed over time. My favorite was Maddie and how strong she was in keeping her medical condition a secret and bore the weight of it by herself. The cover was very pretty and eye-catching but didn’t portray the story itself. The Christmas part didn’t come in until the very end. But I do adore happy endings.
This book was a personal purchase and I reviewed it of my own free will.
I have been aware of Catherine Anderson’s sense of humor for awhile now but it shines brightly in this novel. The sayings she came up with in the dialogue are priceless and I laughed out loud many times. Probably looked pretty silly out for a walk and laughing out loud to myself. The audible version narrated by Susan Bennett is exceptional and she narrates that priceless dialogue expertly. This does not take away from the serious subject matter discussed in this novel but it lightened the mood. It’s a beautiful second chance romance of the most unexpected kind and I highly recommend it. High praises Ms. Anderson!
DNF this book. The characters were similar on every level, including names and continuously changing. The son’s creepy obsession with his dad’s dates was too much.
3 stories in one, though none of the descriptions say that. And while all of the stories are covered, the jumping around does leave a feeling of incompleteness in the younger couple.
The daughter of a rancher and her new neighbor strike up a friendship and romance amidst their feuding parents. This isn’t really a Christmas story, but the tale culminates in a heartwarming finale at Christmas time.
I read the audio book I purchased from Audibles. I looked forward to my evenings with the characters of this story. I really liked this story and will most likely read this story multiple times…
Catherine Anderson’s characters always feel so real and have problems that touch the heart. They endure difficult situations and manage to find love in the most unexpected places and at unexpected times in their lives. This book left me smiling and satisfied.
Catherine Anderson has always been one of my favorite authors. Every one of her books moves you to tears, laughter, and smiles. Her portrayal of real life situations reminds us of the courageous people and courageous actions that can easily touch and shape everyday life.
