Tow truck driver Bear Bailey is the city’s unsung hero on Christmas Eve, out rescuing stranded motorists in the decade’s worst snowstorm. When he happens to spot the cute local weather girl stuck on the side of the road, his Christmas wish has just come true. He’ll be picking her up, but has no plans to drop her off anytime soon.Meteorologist Mary Reed knows all too well she shouldn’t be out … be out driving in weather like this. But she has very good reasons. Her car ends up in a snow drift, because of course it does, and it seems like her Christmas Eve plans might be a bust. Out of nowhere, a hot and possessive tow truck driver rolls up and snatches her out of the blizzard. Plans? What plans?
The connection is instant, but there’s only one problem: there’s lots of other people out there in need of help before Bear can get a taste of Mary’s “Christmas cookies!”
WARNING: This book is short, sweet, smutty and full of as much toasty-warm goodness as you can stand. Stockpile your batteries and flashlights for some snowstorm shenanigans with a quirky cast of characters alongside a kind-hearted, possessive alpha and a sassy, strong heroine. A happily ever after and a Merry Christmas guaranteed!

Wow.. Abby Knox you have done it again, another hit. I have read quiet a few of her books and again she hasn’t disappointed me. I couldn’t put it down because it was so good and it flowed so well. I loved the idea of two work colleagues instantly be attracted to each other like it was love at first sight and start of as friends and it progresses to something more. I like that there wasn’t any angst just two people getting to know each other in the funniest of circumstances, her staying at his house as she’s stuck with no where to go because of the blizzard. You watch how their relationship grows over time and how crazy they are about each other. You all need to read this, it’s so swoon worthy. I look forward to reading more from Abby.
This story has all the makings of a slapstick comedy, but with some covert sexy time peppered throughout. Then not so covert, instalove declaration and a holiday HEA!
This story was such a fun read. It has everything that makes the holidays special.
Mary and Bear are the cutest couple. It’s a short and steamy read that leaves you with a smile and wanting a teddy bear for Christmas.
Bear has had a crush on the local weather girl, Mary for ages. His mom keeps urging him to ask her out. He just figures a classy lady like her couldn’t possibly be interested in a tow truck driver. Mary gives the weather report on Christmas Eve urging everyone to stay put as a bad snow storm was going to make traveling dangerous. Then she ignores her own advice to get to a Christmas party so she doesn’t spend the holiday alone. She figures she can’t meet a good guy if she stays home and watch Its a Wonderful Life. So when her car ends up stuck in a snow drift, she does a Facebook Live video to share with her fans. Bear has an alert on his phone set for anything involving Mary. When he sees she is stranded, he will stop at nothing to get to her. A Christmas miracle might occur and he will never have to let her go, right?
The synopsis I wrote as well as the blurb do not do this story justice, it just can’t. This story is sweet, steamy, whimsical, and just flat out the best thing I did for myself on Christmas Eve. Bear is a sweetheart and Mary is his perfect match. They fit, immediately you see the connection and feel how much they belong together. I am a new and huge fan of Ms Knox, she is swiftly becoming one of my go-to’s when I want a story that pulls me in and leaves me with a smile on my face. I cannot urge anyone enough to get The Christmas Pickup, it is 10 stars of holiday goodness!
Ok, that was just a nice story.
I’m newer to Abby Knox, but I’ve read 2 of her cute, sweet stories this week and I am liking them so far.
I thought the action with people in the car was pretty risky but to believe they weren’t heard was for sure a work of fiction. Abby Knox
Bear is the city’s tow truck driver who seems to have a heart bigger than anyone can imagine. Rather than stay in out of a storm on Christmas Eve, he’s dedicated his time to going out and helping the stranded. He expected this night to be just a normal, rather boring night. But things take a turn for the better when the one woman Bear watches on the news daily to get his fix is one of the stranded residents who needs his saving.
Mary is the city’s loved meteorologist. She’s the kind of girl that is there to help her crew out and goes out of her way to get gifts for everyone to make them feel special. After work on Christmas Eve, Mary knows she should take her own advice and just head home, but the draw of not spending the holiday alone is too much, so she attempts to make it to her boss’ house for a holiday party. That’s when things take a turn for the worst…and yet maybe for the best. Being stranded on the side of the road wasn’t part of Mary’s plans for the night, but things get better when the hunky tow truck driver rescues her.
Their journey is only just beginning, and the list of those needing Bear’s help this night is long. Including a pregnant mom, a drag queen, and Santa! But once everyone is safe, Bear plans to keep Mary and convince her they belong together.
This story was quite hilarious. Each person that needed help on this night was great! Bear and Mary were both so cute and their love so instantaneous is will have you smiling and wishing for a love this sweet on Christmas!
I received an Advance Reader Copy of the book. This is my voluntary and honest review.
Bear and his crush on the local weathergirl ( I mean, Chief Meteorologist) and his kindheartedness lead to a sweet story where the good guy finishes first (well, after his lady off course). Bear is my favorite part of the book, his adorable attachment to Mary, Martha, and his mama won me over immediately. Mary is a sweetheart too – she and Bear make a great match. The way the story worked along, with them encountering (and saving) different characters that created their own sort of nativity was super cute too. I look forward to reading more from Abby Knox in the future. 3 out of 5 wine glasses.
