The weather forecasters said the snowstorm would miss the eastern seaboard. They were wrong. When Ally Henderson’s flight from Southern California to New York City for Christmas gets diverted to the tiny Midwestern town of Bethlehem, she’s desperate to get back in the air and back to the Big Apple. But with all the airports closed, she’s forced to rely on Midwestern hospitality to wait out the … storm. And she soon learns that she has a storm of her own to weather. One that could shatter her life.
Living with a kind stranger is one way to spend a snowed-in Christmas, but when she meets the local diner owner, Jake, sparks fly. Only, Ally’s a big-city girl with big-city dreams, and Jake will always be a Bethlehem boy.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
This was just so adorable. I totally loved the premise of this story. The back of the book told of a city that opened it’s residents’ homes to a flight that was diverted during 9/11. I guess I really never stopped to think about situations where planes are diverted to small towns happening. In this story it was due to a snow storm though. I just loved the Christmas themed second chance romance. Both Jake and Ally had a fantastic story. I was able to read it in an afternoon. I really hated to put the e-reader down, it was so enjoyable.
This book was written in a dual POV format. It helps me as a reader to understand the characters’ actions so much better. I highly recommend this story to anyone. This is a wonderfully clean Christmas romance that you will want to read over and over. It will play like a movie in your mind.
Loved this story…..very good writing and wonderful ending.
Great characters and great story. Enjoyed it?
A very touching love story with tragic twists and touching romance. The tale of a woman wronged whom you want to get revenge, but in finding true love she has no desire to seek it. Instead she goes on to live her best life.
This is a delightful Christmas romance that should be read while you’re snuggled up in a blanket with a cup of tea and some Christmas cookies because it will definitely put you in the mood to suspend real life for a while. When Ally Henderson’s flight to New York is diverted to Bethlehem, Colorado because of bad weather she misses her wedding and she’s lost track of her fiancé too. When the little town of Bethlehem takes in the stranded travelers and Ally dreams of going back to the big city, she meets a small town guy named Jake who’s perfectly content to stay right where he is which leaves her questioning everything she thought she wanted for her future. I loved this book! I read a complimentary copy of this book provided by Entangled Publishing through NetGalley and all opinions expressed in my voluntary review are completely my own.
4.5 Stars
I really enjoyed this one so much. I will admit I was cringing along with Ally with everything thrown her way. I felt so bad for her, but she took a horrible situation and made the best of it. Everything she went through may be an unexpected blessing. I want visit Bethlehem at Christmas time. It sounds so magical especially around the holidays. Reading how that town welcomed the stranded travelers will warm your heart. It’s the true meaning of the holiday season! I swooned many a time when it came to Jake. He’s definitely top book boyfriend material! This book will have you laughing, but it also hits your right in the heart. It’s the perfect book to read especially during the holiday season.
This was a sweet, easy read without being raunchy. Just what you need around Christmas. And while the story-line was somewhat predictable – the guy gets the girl – I thought it was a unique twist with the unpredictable layover.
This was an okay read. This was like the book version of a Hallmark movie. I didn’t like Ally very much at first. She was very judgmental of Jake, and the small town she was stranded in. I thought Jake was a good guy, he was just still hung up on his past. The people of the town were great, and they all added something to the story. Noel was a little strange. She was a grown, pregnant woman, but acted more like a 12 year old. I would have liked a little more closure with the whole Tim thing. There really should have been some justice for that situation. This wasn’t my favorite book, but if you’re looking for a sweet Christmas story, this is it.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
A charming Christmas tale of love after loss. Ally’s plane to her wedding destination is diverted due to weather. When she comes across information that could shatter her entire world, she must decide how to proceed. Jake runs the diner in town and has a heart-breaking past.
I admit, I wanted to slap Ally quite a bit in the beginning of the book, as she came across ungrateful. Watching the two characters try to overcome their obstacles in life, whether it be current or past, was uplifting and truly a magical story for the holiday season!
When life knocks you down you can always choose to pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and move on to bigger and better things. This is how Ally and Jake chose to make their life worthwhile. This is a sweet, and very romantic seasonal Christmas story. It is a wholesome story of family, friendship and community. Forgiving yourself is the hardest thing before you can move on. Jake and Ally had to learn to deal with all the tings they thought they had failed at first. With the love of a warm and welcoming community and family they are able to find their HEA.
