Morgan Reed is excited to open her beauty salon, but her goal gets complicated when she discovers her rented space is already occupied by hot furniture maker, Dallas Parker. Morgan Reed is excited to return to her hometown of Christmas Mountain, Montana, and open her beauty salon, but when she arrives to her rented business space she’s shocked to find it already occupied by Dallas Parker—her … occupied by Dallas Parker—her brother’s best friend, the guy she had a childhood crush on, and the one her mom blames for their family’s greatest tragedy.
With their landlord out of the country and unreachable, Morgan and Dallas must open their businesses together. But, no worries, all small towns need a combo furniture store/beauty salon, right? Ugh. As they work together, Morgan tries to keep her emotional distance but time and off-the-charts chemistry soon turn a childhood friendship into a blossoming romance.
Unfortunately, just when their relationship develops into something deeper, an unexpected crisis re-opens her family’s old wounds and the blame is on Dallas once again. Will Morgan’s sadness and fear pull them apart, or make her realize Dallas has always been her heart’s true safe harbor?

A MUST READ FOR EVERYONE!!!
Forever Yours in Christmas Falls is the latest offering by contemporary romance novelist Susan Hatler. Morgan Reed is returning to her hometown of Christmas Falls, Tennessee just as the Christmas season begins. Unbeknownst to her parents, Morgan used her inheritance to gain her license in cosmetology rather than for the MBA her parents expected. Through her best friend Ruby Curtis, Morgan has rented the vacated space for Coraline’s Classic Beauty Salon. When she first arrives in Christmas Falls and stops to examine her new salon, she encounters Dallas Parker, who she has seen as a bain to her existence her youth.
Dallas has a reputation as a trouble maker, but it is more that he is the result of a troubled youth. Once out of school, the marines became his new home. After his service, he returned home to watch over family members. He bought a home in the country and has begun his own cottage industry of handmade furniture.
It appears that Dallas has also rented the same space for his new furniture showroom. However, when they attempt to contact their new landlord, they learn that Miss Coraline in on safari and will not return until Christmas Eve.
In this story of crossed wires and missed communications, we see modern day mishaps as well as historical incidents that lead to new understandings for the main characters. As Morgan exerts her feelings, both to her parents and Dallas, they all are forced to confront their feelings of what happened at Christmas Falls years before. And as they do, each finds their own closure.
This is a very good story of family and dealing with one’s own guilt. These are rich characters in a lovely setting told with great feeling. Following all the “rules” of good storytelling, this endearing story will warm your heart and put you in the mood for the holidays. I did enjoy this story and I do recommend this book!
I received a complimentary copy of the book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
I just LOVED this book. I laughed out loud throughout most of this book. There were some very touching moments that brought a tear to my eye. The characters were just adorable. I loved Dallas and Morgan was a perfect pick for him. I know this series is all about 7 girls that were BFFs but man I sure would love it if Ms. Hatler would write a book on Connor!!!! The plot was so realistic and charming that I could hardly put the book down. I will definitely be re-reading this one!!!! I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone!
Boy did I recognize Morgan Reed, the heroine of Forever Yours in Christmas Falls, and her interactions with her family. And Dallas Parker is the hero, slightly tarnished – at least in his own eyes and that of the town – who comes back into Morgan’s life, in a big way. I didn’t find the story to be your typical holiday story but instead, two people learning about Christmas in their own hearts. Morgan and Dallas have complicated pasts with personal issues that stand between them and their HEA. I loved the portrayal of Ivy Reed, Morgan’s mother. She was definitely the person you want to stand up to, at least to me. Her brother was the best! Her dad? Typically clueless but sweet. Dallas was so special. He has always felt he was lacking and needs to work thru those issues on his own. OMG, be prepared for the restaurant scenes because, well, they will make you snort-laugh! The premise for getting these two together is a hoot and I enjoyed the story very much. Good read for a weekend!
Thoroughly enjoyed this book
Morgan Reed left Christmas Mountain to further her education making a career for herself. One she wanted but not so much what her family wanted for her. Now she returns to her hometown to start her new life and runs smack dab into her secret childhood crush Dallas Parker, her brothers best friend.
Dallas is starting a new life for himself as well, opening his business he runs into Morgan. The little minx that he remembers as a child has grown into a beautiful woman. She was always off limits as kids but now!
They want nothing more than to start a life together but have to make others see just how good they can be for each other.
Can they let go of the painful past and make a beautiful future? Well, this is Christmas Mountain and miracles can come happen, dreams can come true for those who believe.
Another great book by Susan Hatler! Loved this story so much.
This was a sweet Christmas themed story with good romantic elements. However, Morgan, the heroine, was so busy trying to ‘prove’ she was a capable woman to her parents that I found her wishy washy and more annoying than enjoyable. Her counterpart, Dallas, was hardworking and swoon-worthy. The issue of the double-lease was never resolved with the owner, but resolved between Morgan and Dallas. Overall this story had the makings of a Hallmark Christmas movie. There was kissing, but overall a clean story with some alcohol use/over use.
The Christmas Compromise is the 1st book I’ve read by Susan Hatler. It’s a charming Christmas story with heroine Morgan returning home to Montana after spending her college years in Florida. Morgan’s rented a shop, ordered supplies, and is about to open a hair salon just before Christmas. But Morgan doesn’t count on one very prominent monkey wrench thrown into her plans. It seems the woman who rented her the space also rented the space to Morgan’s childhood crush, Dallas, who intends to use the shop to sell furniture. Toss in Morgan’s mother, who is against Morgan doing anything other than working at the family bank, a sweet retried school teacher and a haunting secrets from the past, and this story will grab your attention right from the start and keep you turning the pages. Morgan is independent and full of insecurity. Dallas is irresistible, and the allure of a small mountain town at Christmastime is to hard to resist. Grab a copy today and get into the Christmas spirit.
Decisions are hard, especial when you have to choose between family and our heart. Morgan loves her family and wants to respect her wants even when they ignore hers. Dallas returns homes, but he is not who people thought he was. When they there is a mix up on the same space they want to lease for their business, there are moments of laughter, and moment to shack your head as Morgan and Dallas try to ignore their attraction.
This is a wonderful holiday story that will warm your heart and make you smile.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Kept me interested all the way through.
Great read
clean
I loved this story. The characters were believable and the story line was fantastic. There was humor and angst and romance. It was nice to read about the current situation of the characters but interwoven was the historical parts that brought the present to its current state. I could not put the book down. Now I am going through withdrawal from these characters.

Happy ending.
another romantic story that did not need unnecessary sex scenes and thank you Susan Hatler for writing a romantic book that included the main characters getting to know each other and actually having a reason to fall in love! The setting was adorable, and to have a furniture store and beauty shop in the same location, both starting out a new business, can’t believe how you made it work. Thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to reading more of your books!
A couple with history gets thrown together and finds that although they have different goals, it is possible to work together to gain a positive outcome. How they get there (the journey) is all of the fun.
As an young adult book it was very good..
Storyline was good.
