Morgan Reed is excited to return to her hometown of Christmas Mountain, Montana, and open her beauty salon, but when she arrives to her rented business space she’s shocked to find it already occupied by Dallas Parker—her … occupied by Dallas Parker—her brother’s best friend, the guy she had a childhood crush on, and the one her mom blames for their family’s greatest tragedy.
With their landlord out of the country and unreachable, Morgan and Dallas must open their businesses together. But, no worries, all small towns need a combo furniture store/beauty salon, right? Ugh. As they work together, Morgan tries to keep her emotional distance but time and off-the-charts chemistry soon turn a childhood friendship into a blossoming romance.
Unfortunately, just when their relationship develops into something deeper, an unexpected crisis re-opens her family’s old wounds and the blame is on Dallas once again. Will Morgan’s sadness and fear pull them apart, or make her realize Dallas has always been her heart’s true safe harbor?

Sweet and Clean Christmas Mountain Romance
This story takes place in the fictitious Montana town of Christmas Mountain. The story is about a pair of twenty-somethings who are trying to live their own lives and not necessarily the life that is expected of them. This author always writes a quality story that will leave a smile on your face and a warm spot in your heart.

Morgan and Dallas are a great couple with spark and matching guilt that they need to overcome. It is a major obstacle for them and that some people are driven to keep Morgan and Dallas apart. Their story is shrouded with the past and that makes the present difficult. I found myself having a great deal of empathy for these two big hearted characters. They make you ache and pine for peace, happiness and an everlasting love.
It is a bittersweet story that has the Christmas touch which, I thoroughly enjoyed.

Beautiful heartwarming second chance romance. Morgan secretly loved her brother’s best friend Dallas when they were young. She didn’t know it but he secretly loved her also, but didn’t think he was good enough. He came from a broken home. So he went away to enlist in the marines and she went away to college. Now they are both back in their home town and have to share the same space for their new businesses. She is opening a beauty salon and he wants to sell his furniture. Neither will give up their space so they compromise. But as they remodel the business things heat up. But Morgan’s mom is against her business and Dallas. How can Morgan fulfill her dreams while disappointing her mom. This was a beautiful story. Morgan and Dallas were delightful, and several of the secondary characters in the town were wonderful and supportive of them. Morgan is back in Christmas Mountain. But she is nervous as she hasn’t told her parents why she is really back. To open her own salon. A big step for her. A big step in the opposite direction of what her parents want for her, which is to work at their bank. Ughh!!!!!
Since Morgan’s sister passed when they were kids, she has been trying to fill shoes that were not hers to fill. Her mother has constantly compared her to her sister and she is tired of it.
Dallas has been aback in Christmas Mountain for a year now and it is finally time to start his dream. Opening a furniture store with all pieces handcrafted by him. He has put everything he has into this adventure and nothing is going to stop him. Not even his best friend Carter’s sister Morgan.
Morgan can’t believe it. Ms Caroline rented her empty salon to her and Dallas both. What is she going to do? Well for now they share till Ms. Caroline comes home from her African Safari.
So what happens though, when you have guilt and secrets that begin to surface? Do you admit it or do you bury it deep?
Dallas and Morgan’s romance was super sweet and magnetic. These two are so hot and the feelings they have, whooo! But both of them have deep guilt inside for things in their past. When they learn to confront the past and not leave it buried, these two will shine.
This book is a must read this Christmas. It should be on the top of your Christmas vacation TBR. It is such a moving and inspirational story. It will reach into the depths of your soul. The loss these characters have suffered is unreal and soul wrenching.
True to Susan Halter’s books this is defiantly one for the Hallmark channel if you ask me. Her books are meaning full and beautiful stories. Filled with so much love it is heart warming. So grab this one today and be sure to have some tissue, because you are going to need it.

They both have a dilemma now. It seems they need to come to some comprise.
What a sweet story, heartwarming. A little sad a times..
A fun Christmas RomCom!
This book is part of the Return to Christmas Falls series, where each book is written by a different author. I’ve not read any others of the series, but it did not distract me or cause me to feel out of touch.
Morgan has decided to return home to open her own beauty salon. However, her parents believed that Morgan was using an inheritance to get an MBA and to take a job at the bank sponsored by her parents. Morgan believes she has to live up to her mother’s demands to do this, but this time, she’s rebelling and doing what she’s passionate about. Morgan has finally done it, she’s taken that final step that will seal her fate in her mother’s eyes. Morgan has leased the old beauty shop in town so she can open her own shop, only to discover that her landlady has leased the same space to her childhood crush to open his furniture shop. And, of course, this is the man her mother blames for the death of Morgan’s sister when they were all young. The landlord is incommunicado until after both business planned openings (very inconvenient!). Somehow, Morgan and Dallas manage to make the space work, while growing closer and learning to love each other.
I loved this story and found myself laughing, crying and feeling all of Morgan’s insecurities. I was thrilled when she finally stood up to her mother to follow her own path. And loved how Dallas was willing to fight for their love to be finally accepted by Morgan’s mother.
I received an ARC copy of this book and am voluntarily reviewing it. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and given freely.
Allow a day for this adult tale of coming home and second chances. I read an ARC and this voluntary review is my own opinion.
The Christmas Compromise is the first book I have read that was written by Susan Halter. This book is a very emotional but heartwarming story. I loved every bit of it. The characters were very believable and well written. This is a book about forgiveness, love, friendship and family. It was very heartwarming to see how close the friends were after not having contact for several years. I was hooked right from the beginning, I had a tough time putting the book down. I will definitely be reading more books from this author. It really puts you in the Holiday Spirit.
Morgan Reed is coming home to Christmas Mountain with big plans after six years in Miami. She has a signed lease as her first step to realizing her dream. Dallas Parker, her brother’s best friend is also back. He too has a signed lease as he plans to open his own handcrafted furniture store. But the lease is for the same property as Morgan’s, the owner has departed on an African safari, and they only have two weeks until their grand opening. Since neither of them will back down they agree to share the space, and work together on the renovations.
This is a delightful romance set within the beautiful backdrop of the Rockies. I loved the different characters, the strong bonds of family and friendships, and the joy and humor that connects them.
