This was one of the best stories I’ve read in awhile. Great development of the characters, excellent setting and storyline. The plot keep me reading until I finished it in one setting. Typical of Max Lacado’s writing.
Sweet Christmas Book! Also so the movie, but book was better
A good read with a message
A very beautiful book.
Short, easy read. Very much enjoyed this book.
It was an inspirational book, predictable though. A quick read.
This was a sweet “Short Story.” Didn’t want, or expect, it to end so abruptly.
A great heart felt story of faith, hope, prayer. These 3 were there from the start to the finish. I read it straight through. I wanted the story to go on. Even if you were cold reading this story, when you were done your heart will be filled with love laughter and joy.
I like quaint stories like this!
Everyone should read this book at Christmas. I read it a long time ago and repeated it this year.
Love Max Lucado and the way he shares his faith. This book helps all to see themselves, their needs and God’s response as we believe. Life affirming and hopeful story.
This is a sweet, easy, fast Christmas read! I thoroughly enjoyed it!
Classic Christian ethic. Prayer is answered with or without blessed candle.question reason prayer what’s good bad. Like gambler looking every thing felt he described to be saved. Yet he used resources unwisely. Where had those less fortunate wanted more worthy reason. How do choose who will get it. It became about candle and not message.
A great read. Couldn’t put it down!
Excellent story. Unpredictable ending. Good read for bedtime in the season!
