Twelve years ago, he drove away with my heart in his hands.I’ve moved on since then.Or so I thought. Growing up in a small town, there weren’t too many options when it came to friends. But, even in a sea of a million, I’d always choose Jake Jameson.I felt safe with him. Safe with my secrets, my dreams and eventually — my heart. I thought we’d have forever together. That was a long time ago.I … together.
That was a long time ago.
I thought I’d forgotten those piercing blue eyes and the sound of his laugh. I tried to obliterate the memory of his touch from my mind.
But, one single glance, as he stands at my door, twelve years later, and I’m suddenly transported back to a simpler time when love was easy, and my heart was whole.
The problem?
I’m marrying his best friend.

A lovely second chance romance, that’s filled with lots of emotion, reconnecting and love!
Jake and Molly were childhood sweethearts but the small country town they were from wasn’t what Jake wanted. Events made him want to explore and move away. Leaving Molly behind was the hardest thing he ever had to do and now he’s back in town and seeing her again has him feeling something he hasn’t felt in a long time.
How do you talk about a book that resulted in numerous bouts of tears? How do you put into words the breaking of an already broken heart? Apparently, J.L. Berg has it down to a science.
The Choices I’ve Made is a second chance romance that packs some serious heartache from the beginning to the end. Heartache born from an unparalleled love separated by pain. This book may have a happy ending but tissues are a must!

This is what I expect when I pick up a JL Berg novel. An emotional rollercoaster that will tear my heart apart but put it back together by the end. This book was no different.
This is a book that I won’t be talking to much about because it is one that you need to experience on your own. It’s filled with so much emotion and you really have to feel those for yourself. I thought the storyline was interesting and held my attention all the way through. The pace and flow of the story worked perfectly. I also thought the characters that were introduced were both relatable and lovable.
The Choices I’ve Made is about finding yourself and living life to its fullest. It’s also about learning to forgive and moving on. I was sucked into this story right from the start and I didn’t put it down until the very end. There are many ups and downs in this story and I will say this book isn’t what I was expecting and I mean that in the very best way. I couldn’t have guessed how this story was going to play out.
Getting to follow Molly and Jake’s Journey was a wonderful thing. I loved meeting these characters and I know I will think of them often. I do hope that we get to see more of them in the future. Molly and Jake were both broken characters in different ways and for very different reasons but I enjoyed watching them grow and find what they needed to to make them happy.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a second chance romance. This is one of the better ones I have read!! Also if you are a fan of JL Berg’s books then you don’t want to miss this story. If JL Berg is a new author to you, this is the perfect book to start your journey with her writing. Trust me you will be swept away!!!
Selfish couple cannot decide between lust and love. Too much sex.
A truly beautiful love story!
Great, realistic story of young love blossoming into adult life and the complexities and challenges happening along the way.
This is a really good book. It even had me in tears.
Great read…highly recommend! Liked it so much, I even bought the next book in the series.
Both of these characters were so far apart on their choices in life it was hard to believe they could ever resolve their issues. But it was comfortable reading so I stuck to the end to see what their final choice
This book is well written and has believable characters. I’m really happy that both of the main characters has issues to work out. At first I thought that Molly was going to be seen on a pedestal so high that I didn’t see how Jake was gonna get her down to earth. I like the way that the author has made her more human and touchable.
I cared about the characters and their struggles.
I like this writer, moves fast good story!
Enjoyed this book.
Great action filled read
Good story; however, it seemed to drag in several places. Too much explanation/description
Sweet story. A common theme but handled nicely. Likeable characters.
I enjoyed this book so much I brought the next one in the series.
Good read!!
This was really fun reading!
The usual words to choose from don’t fully describe this book. It does end happily ever after, but it better shows how youthful choices shape people. In spite of not fully informed or thought out choices, people can end up where they should have been in the first place.
