A haunting, richly atmospheric, and deeply suspenseful novel from the acclaimed author of The Enchanted about an investigator who must use her unique insights to find a missing little girl.“Where are you, Madison Culver? Flying with the angels, a silver speck on a wing? Are you dreaming, buried under snow? Or—is it possible—you are still alive?”Three years ago, Madison Culver disappeared when her … Madison Culver disappeared when her family was choosing a Christmas tree in Oregon’s Skookum National Forest. She would be eight-years-old now—if she has survived. Desperate to find their beloved daughter, certain someone took her, the Culvers turn to Naomi, a private investigator with an uncanny talent for locating the lost and missing. Known to the police and a select group of parents as “the Child Finder,” Naomi is their last hope.
Naomi’s methodical search takes her deep into the icy, mysterious forest in the Pacific Northwest, and into her own fragmented past. She understands children like Madison because once upon a time, she was a lost girl, too.
As Naomi relentlessly pursues and slowly uncovers the truth behind Madison’s disappearance, shards of a dark dream pierce the defenses that have protected her, reminding her of a terrible loss she feels but cannot remember. If she finds Madison, will Naomi ultimately unlock the secrets of her own life?
Told in the alternating voices of Naomi and a deeply imaginative child, The Child Finder is a breathtaking, exquisitely rendered literary page-turner about redemption, the line between reality and memories and dreams, and the human capacity to survive.

This has made it as one of my all-time favorite books. While not my usual romance read … this book OWNED me. It’s just hard to put in words how it affected me. Beautiful/lyrical writing. The story was poignant and yet hopeful.
A difficult subject yet handles so well. It keep me glued to the page.
Loved this tale! Read in 24 hours!!!!
I liked the characters and the story kept me reading late into the night… I’d recommend
The premise of this book was original and more than timely, unfortunatel. Suspenseful and horrifying at times, it was also intriguing and illuminating.
So well written, just wow!
This one had me up late at night reading when I should have been sleeping! (A compliment) Very interesting premise and characters. I want to find out what happens next!
I didn’t really know what to expect with this book. It kept me on the edge of my seat hoping for the outcome! Enjoyed it a lot.
Brilliant characters. A powerful female lead who makes you admire and feel sorry for her simultaneously. Wonderful story.
Well written and holds your interest.
The day I started reading was the day Jayme Closs was rescued in Wisconsin, adding to the interest that prompted me to select it a week earlier. Stayed up late to finish—making it a page-turner. Writing probably above average in construction and plot.
This book kept me very interested. Very well written. I definitely recommend reading!
Definitely a page turner couldn’t put it down kind of book! Highly recommend it!
I liked how this book was set up and I liked how it told so much and yet told so little. I found it to be uplifting and the air of redemption in it was in great contrast with the darkness of the subject matter.
Suspenseful all the way. Couldn’t put it down!
It was wonderful and I never saw the end coming!
I like do the characters a lot, and really enjoyed the storyline.
One of the best books that i read in 2018
Kept my attention . Good descriptions of people and their motives.
It was definitely worth the read. It kept me interested all the way through & I did not get bored. The way the 5 year old thought processes worked was a little unbelievable but still it was something that can happen. It was not only the mystery of the missing little girl but also the mystery of what happen to the child finder herself. I will definitely read another book by this author.
