I read this as part of a bookset. This series is a great little read. The commentary was great as it set the scenes for each story and helped to develop the characters’ personalities. Coming back home, Christie didn’t know many people. She was on a sabbatical from the Boston Police Department for performance unbecoming an officer. Christie followed her own rules and investigated issues in her own style. For that, she could lose her job; something she always wanted to be just like her mom. Christie gets into investigating any and all murders helping her friends while being told to stay out of it by the handsome detective. I love the characters. The friendship, camaraderie and love they shared for each other were wonderful! It made you feel like they were your friends and felt like you lived in the town. The twins were a hoot along with Curly Fries! A relationship started to bloom between Christie and Liam and I hope it continues to grow. A lot of twists and turns trying to identify the murderer in each story. Once I began reading, I couldn’t put it down. This was a fantastic cozy mystery with just the exact amount of humor, romance, mystery, intrigue, quirky characters, and adventure that will keep the reader thoroughly engaged.
Love the way the way it flows. You get to know the characters, some of them are funny
The Chicken Burger Murder seemed a little shorter than the first two books in the Burger Bar series, but it wasn’t missing the great characters, humor, and intriguing whodunits I’ve come to enjoy about these books! Though it felt a little rushed at times (because the book is maybe shorter?) and I wasn’t 100% clear on why the town suspected one of its own as a murderer, I really loved the mysteries in this book. As protagonist Christie investigates the crimes in this story, she wonders if they are connected to other crimes she’s investigated or even to her mother’s murder, which all make for a very meaty story. The ongoing possible connections to the mob and the will-they-won’t-they romantic storyline between Christie and Detective Balle keep me coming back for more!
I received an advance copy of this book. This review contains my honest thoughts and opinions.
Christie Watson is on sabbatical from her homicide detective job and is in Sleepy Creek helping her best friend Grizzy at her Burger Bar. Christie has been warned to keep her nose clean and out of police business or her sabbatical will turn into a permanent dismissal. Christie can’t help that murder seems to fall into her lap.
When the mean owner of the local pizza place drops dead and shortly thereafter so does his wife from poisoned pizza, Christie has the choice to watch from the sidelines or solve the case herself.
This is a witty and madcap adventurous cozy mystery filled with the right combination of mystery, suspense, humor, and tons of potential suspects. The main character is smart, daring, and always chooses to do the right thing even if that means losing her job.

Well, this had me guessing up to the very end! Such a fun, fast read. I adore Missi and Vee. Such wonderful characters. And as much as Christy feels that she’s not as supportive as Grizzy, well she sure helped quite a few people feel better. Curly Fries is a funny cat! I love how she torments Christy! This is a really good series and I’m looking forward to many more books.

This book is in the genre of cozy mysteries. This is the third book in the series. It could be read alone. Nothing is as it appears in Sleepy Creek! This is definitely not a sleepy town!
There’s a big dust off between a couple food vendors for the upcoming Spring Food Fair. Sal the pizza guy and Delores who owns the bakery are vying for prime positions to sell their wares!
Sal meets his demise unexpectedly. Then his wife dies unexpectedly as well soon after. They both seem like very suspicious circumstances!
Of course our main character Christie Watson can’t resist a case! (I love her name a combination of Agatha Christie and of course Watson and Holmes!) There’s a little snooping around between her job shifts at the Burger Bar selling the latest favorite, the chicken burger and keeping track of her cat Curly Fries!
There is also a budding attraction between Christie and the police detective, Detective Balle. A little romance in a cozy mystery is always fun!
There’s also another mystery circulating through this book about Christie’s mother and how she died with some possible mafia connections. The only clue is, “spider” so far! I am sure in future books we will find out more!
A lot of things going on to keep up the readers’ interest! Can’t wait for the next book!!
I received an advance readers copy and am providing a review that is completely my own opinion.
This is the 3rd book in the series and it is right up there in mystery, twists and turns, great characters (of course) and surprise endings. It also has a fabulous storyline and enough action to keep you glued to the pages. A fabulous read and quite delicious!

Has trouble followed her back to her home town? Christie Watson was involved with some sticky arrests up in Boston.
Maybe it’s not so bad being in her hometown – except for the murders, the food wars, and an outlaw MC. Things might get kinda boring without the hot cop Liam asking her on a coffee date.
Not sure how she makes some twisted small town crime and other town connections so funny. As long as I can keep reading what happens next, and chuckling!
Funtastic KU read!

A great cozy mystery! Homicide detective Christie just can’t seem to stay out of a murder investigation even though she’s on a break from her job and just wants to relax. But circumstances prevent that from happening. The characters and their interactions are entertaining and enjoyable. Plenty of twists and turn and an entertaining story line that’s fun to read.

Christie Watson is on a much-needed break from work. Being a homicide detective from Boston and having to deal with her mother’s death had reached its toll for her. She goes to a small town in hopes of some relaxation but what she ends up is two murders to deal with. This is the first book I have read by this author, but it won’t be the last. The characters are simply a hodgepodge of oddballs and attitudes. Love it!!! I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book from Booksprout.

Christie is trying to stay out of any investigations, but circumstances throw her into a no win situation. I enjoyed the character interaction and the twists in the storyline. The Chicken Burger Murder was entertaining and I intend to read more in this series.

Another great cozy mystery in the series!
This time Christie is asked by Nell the florist to look into the deaths of Sal and Francesca the pizzeria owners. Sal’s cousin Mario takes over the running of the pizza place and throws a party to celebrate the lives of Sal and Fran. Rumors are floating around about Fran’s friend Bella and Sal were having an affair and Christie discovers they were filing for divorce. After some snooping and minor breaking and entering, Christie finds the killer.
