NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLERJanet Evanovich and Lee Goldberg, bestselling authors of The Heist, return in this action-packed, exciting adventure featuring master con artist Nicolas Fox and die-hard FBI agent Kate O’Hare. And this time around, things go from hot to nuclear when government secrets are on the line. Internationally renowned thief and con artist Nicolas Fox is famous for running … artist Nicolas Fox is famous for running elaborate and daring scams. His greatest con of all: convincing the FBI to team him up with the only person who has ever caught him, and the only woman to ever capture his attention, Special Agent Kate O’Hare. Together they’ll go undercover to swindle and catch the world’s most wanted—and untouchable—criminals.
Their newest target is Carter Grove, a former White House chief of staff and the ruthless leader of a private security agency. Grove has stolen a rare Chinese artifact from the Smithsonian, a crime that will torpedo U.S. relations with China if it ever becomes public. Nick and Kate must work under the radar—and against the clock—to devise a plan to steal the piece back. Confronting Grove’s elite assassins, Nick and Kate rely on the skills of their ragtag crew, including a flamboyant actor, a Geek Squad techie, and a band of AARP-card-carrying mercenaries led by none other than Kate’s dad.
A daring heist and a deadly chase lead Nick and Kate from Washington, D.C., to Shanghai, from the highlands of Scotland to the underbelly of Montreal. But it’ll take more than death threats, trained henchmen, sleepless nights, and the fate of a dynasty’s priceless heirloom to outsmart Fox and O’Hare.

FBI Agent O’Hare and wanted criminal Fox must team up to recover a stolen Chinese artifact and return it unnoticed before an international incident occurs.
The plot was quite fun and twisted in some unexpected ways. Plenty of tense moments hoping our heroes could pull off the impossible. The characters are still on the shallow side, but this book is fun, fun, fun!
Outstanding continuation from The Heist. SO much fun! I couldn’t have asked for a more adventurous, exciting, comedic story. The Evanovich/Goldberg team did it again. Just like The Heist, the twists and turns are terrific. The well thought out plot lines held my interest as well as the character’s portrayal in each role. I absolutely love these additional characters. Hell, I want to be part of the team!
As for the con man lead, Nick Fox; of course, I’m in love. He’s a dishonest, lying, cheating schemer, and I’m still in love. Now, that’s good writing and a good story. Difference between O’Hare and me? I would’ve already gotten cozy under the covers. What the heck! When you work, you work. When you play, you play hard.
Looking forward to The Scam, which I believe is next in the Fox/O’Hare series.
Kate and Nicholas are at it again. This time they are after a former white house chief of staff who has his own security agency and a priceless artifact. But can Kate agree with Nicholas’s unorthodox methods?
Fun read. Story kept tugging me along. I keep waiting for something really romantic to happen between Kate and Nick but I guess that’s part of the long-term story line!
Love the series.
This was a great series of books. I am a big Janet Evanovich fan.
love it
Much better than the first one. (sorry) The action started right on the first page and that help to get me interested. Loved the characters and their different personality quarks (even if they made me roll my eyes sometimes). I am actually excited to read the next book and I hope I am not disappointed .
I liked it.
The Chase left me wanting more. It is my least favorite in the Fox & O’Hare series. This “villain” was by fair the least captivating. The banter and sexual tension between Nick and Kate is still great and keeps you laughing and turning pages. All in all worth the read if only to push the story towards the next book. A solid 3 stars for me.
A fun rollercoaster of a read.
Very good adventure and mystery story. The main characters get into all kinds of trouble but are very
Resourceful.
I’ve read this book twice and enjoyed it both times.
I enjoyed the book. It was an easy read
Highly likeable characters and a great series.
This book is hang on to your seat good!
I like that they don’t live in a bubble, that often one or the other’s past comes in to cause a little ripple. The side characters add even more to the series and giving the main characters a family to belong to. I love the chemistry between Fox and O’Hare. I hope the end of the series sees the two of them happily together. Until then, I’m enjoying their unfulfilled desire!
Besides being humorous and fast-paced throughout, this book has a very satisfying ending, although that perception may depend on your political inclinations.
