After an unexpected twist of fate, All-Star catcher Easton Wylder is left questioning the loyalty of everyone around him. Even the woman who shares his bed, Scout Dalton. But if Easton thought being uprooted to the last place he expected was the only challenge life had to throw at him, he was deadwrong. With an ailing shoulder and his career in limbo, his decision to make an unexpected change … to make an unexpected change leads him to question everything – Scout’s love, family loyalties, and whether he can conquer the one obstacle he’s never been able to overcome. The secret he’s never shared with anyone.
He may be a man pushed to his limits, but he’s hell-bent on proving his worth no matter the cost.

K. Bromberg is one of my favorite authors. Always delivers a sexy read!
This was a great second part to this story. I continued to enjoy all the twists and turns. It made it even better. And it had a wonderful ending. I definitely recommend this book, this series, and this author.
The Catch picks up right where The Player ends. Easton’s career is on the line and Scout’s contract with the Aces is too. Can they both get what they want?
I love K Bromberg! She writes books that will take your emotions for quite a ride. She delivers so many surprises throughout this book that you can’t help but wonder where the story is going next. I love Easton and Scout. My heart broke for Easton and was so proud of him for overcoming his past. Always looking forward to whatever Kristy writes next.
Perfect conclusion to Easton & Scout’s story, I love everything about this story, how they catch each other was such an amazing storyline. The audiobook is fantastic, the narrators Joe Arden and Andi Arndt made a terrific job narrating it and I would totally recommend it.
It has been awhile since I have read this book, and I have to tell you that I am still in love with K. Bromberg’s characters in this duet!!
We finally finish Easton Wylder & Scout Dalton’s story!! It was a simple yet complicated storyline. K. Bromberg did her ting by sucking you in and falling in love with her characters. Oh, and did I mention that they get their HEA??? With these two, they are trying their hardest to work through being together. You are invested in their relationship and cheering them on.
K. Bromberg’s writing is smooth and easy with this duet. If you get a chance to read both of them back to back, you can truly enjoy K. Bromberg’s craft. To me, this might be my favorite duet/ series of hers. She clearly is known for her Driven series, but this duet seems to be something completely for her. You didn’t even think about the Driven series!
I can’t wait to see what else K. Bromberg has in store for us. I know that I am planning to read Wicked Ways series in 2020. I am so excited!!
Congratulations Kristy on another amazing book!
~ Review by Heidi Pharo
This is book two in the Player series and we are back to follow the uncertainty of the relationship between professional baseball player Easton Wylder and his physical therapist Scout Dalton, Easton is left questioning the loyalty of everyone around him when he gets traded to another team even Scout the woman he’s fallen in love with. With their ups & downs, trust issues and the constant pressure on Scout trying to keep both Easton and her dying fathers happy their relationship struggles, especially when long hidden secrets are revealed causing Easton to further question the people around him. K.Bromberg has done it again for me I loved it, the characters are so easy to love and their emotional understanding of each others needs is beautiful. The sex was hot and the story line engaging and enthralling. Brilliant narration by Andie Arndt and Joe Arden. K.Bromberg hits another winner of of the ball park.
So many feels!!! The conclusion of Easton and Scout’s journey was an amazing ride! The love, passion, rawness and mystery will leave you hanging on to every word. The characters exuded strength, courage and compassion that was heartwarming to witness.
This author’s writing and talented storytelling will leave you wanting more.
I have always attempted to give ‘star’ ratings on my completed reads, just as a tracking method for my titles that I have completed. I have unlimited packages for audio, kindle, and utilize the local/state library.
However, I do not check the ‘I recommend this book’ unless I am willing to reread a book and or a series.
[I read about 5-15 books a month through kindle, and I listen to about 15-30 books monthly]
I have a full life as a nurse, professor, wife, daughter [daughter in law], sister, and mother. I love to read and love a thousand other lives by turning the pages in countless books.
Thank you for the opportunity to provide a review. Happy reading 🙂
In my review of The Player, I stated I wish I had read these books sooner. And that is true. However, I’m kind of glad I didn’t since I was able to immediately jump into The Catch. The Player left me wanting the rest of the story, and I’m so glad I didn’t have to wait for the sequel. I’m not ashamed to admit this book hit me right in the feels several times and a few tears were shed. The woman knows how to reach right in and yank out your heart (and I appreciate that in an author).
The Catch was a great second half to this duet and I loved Easton & Scout’s story, for me Kristy can’t do any wrong, her characters, writing and storylines are well developed and thought out and utterly captivating.
There were some special moments in The Catch that were really heartfelt for me especially Easton with Doc (Scout’s father) and the commitment that Scout shows to Easton despite him pushing her away. I loved that Easton makes the decision to be alone that he doesn’t need Scout but it doesn’t take long for him to realise that really all he needs is her and he can conquer anything!
What a great second part and closing to this baseball romance duet. I couldn’t start this book fast enough. What a cliffhanger book one left us on. This book jumps right back in. Immediately I am back in Easton and Scout’s world and I am hooked again. I am not going to give any details because you NEED to read book one, The Player. So much is on the line for this couple. His future, her future, their decisions, their mistakes, their secrets, other secrets… What a whirlwind of more emotions. I loved every moment of it. There were so many moments that had me smiling, laughing, crying and feeling ever word of this story. This book also satisfied my baseball loving heart. I felt like K Bromberg really understood a baseball lovers needs in this book. These narrators also helped bring this story to life even more. I can’t express enough how much I love this duet. This is a must read/listen for all romance fans, especial sports/baseball fans.
I loved The Catch even more than The Player. K. Bromberg loves to put her hero’s through the ringer and some serious emotional battles. Easton is struggling after being let go by his team. He doesn’t know if he can trust Scout and his world is crumbling down. His dream is being threatened and he’s not sure how to handle it all. But Scout never gave up on him and stuck by his side through everything. She supported all his decisions and showed him a future that didn’t involve playing baseball. I loved these two so much. They go through so much and they stick together through it all. What a great sports romance. This one really got me and will surely pull on your heartstrings.
I just wish I knew what Easton decided about his family because there was serious betrayal going on.
The amazing conclusion to The Player!
Lets just say this book will keep you on edge. After the cliffhanger in The Player, The Catch continues with the story of Easton and Scout. The ups and downs, the high and lows, the sweet and the heartbreaking moments in their relationship. I love this is not your typical story. Usually it is the man running scared and not the girl. I’m glad that Scout got it through her head that Easton would do anything for her and that he would be there for her when she thought no one ever would. But Scout was also there for Easton when he was struggling with all the changes in his life.
I just wish there was more! I could never grow tired of these two and watching their relationship grow even stronger over time!
Oh what an absolute fantastic conclusion! Wow, what a great duet. I just loved it all, a lot. I was getting a wee bit emotional at the end there for a hot minute. The scenes with Scouts father were killing me. *sniff* The epilogue made my black heart so happy! I wanted to hug my iPad at the end!
“Even at my worst, she still sees the best in me.”
Scout and Easton together are my second favorite Bromberg couple. I mean, I pretty much love and want to be friends with all of her characters, but these two bumped Becks and Haddie outta 2nd place. Sorry guys.
“I’ve never met anyone like you, Scout. You challenge me. You make me laugh. You encourage me. But more than anything you get me.” Heart eyes!!!
I can’t help it, I truly think every book Bromberg puts out gets better and better. Dang I can’t wait to see what comes out next!
The Player was amazing and The Catch is even better! I loved Scout and Easton from the beginning, The Catch really shows the strength of their relationship.
“I love the parts of you no one else knew how to love just as you do to me.”
The Catch has you sitting on the edge of your seat the entire time but I wouldn’t expect anything less from Kristy. There are twists and turns on every page, you can’t put it down! There were times I wanted to come through the pages and smack Easton upside the head and hug him too.
Kristy did an absolutely amazing job concluding Scout and Eastons story and I can’t wait for what’s coming next.
The Catch is the second and final book in the Duet series. K. Bromberg is so talented that she will have you laughing, crying, and feeling every emotion that Easton and Scout are going through. Just when you think you have figured everything out, Ms. Bromberg throws you a “curve ball” sending you in another direction. The Catch has many meanings, ones you will “catch” while reading this amazing story. Every question you had after reading The Player and more will be answered.
Easton has become my favorite Bromberg character. This Duet is the best read of 2017 bar none. K. Bromberg will keep you spellbound from beginning to end. If you read anything this year, The Player and The Catch Duet is a Must. I still have a book hangover, it was so, so good.

5 Clear mind and full heart Stars! Another grand slam by K. Bromberg. I never thought anyone would trump Colton but Easton is nudging him out by his sweet, and oh so sexy personality. A hot baseball player that is down to earth and so genuine. Scout, give it as good as you get it, is perfect for him. This duet is everything and then some in a sports romance. Loved the banter, innuendos and awesome story. I highly recommend this MUST read!
GAH! Every time I pick up a K.Bromberg (aka Kristy Bromberg) novel, I’m reminded WHY I love her stories and writing SO MUCH and this story was no exception. I don’t know the last time I felt this much exhilaration after finishing a novel! Kristy Bromberg completely HIT IT OUT OF THE PARK! Everything, I say EVERYTHING, about this final installment to The Player duet was executed to perfection. Kristy did an extraordinary job of unraveling the many questions that we readers were left with at the end of book 1 and she did so with complete precision. The love story mixed in with all the personal drama, secrets, and suspense was seamless and completely captivating. I was sucked into the story right from the beginning.
I never do this, but first of all, I want to start out by giving kudos to the AMAZING cover and I’m not saying that bc it’s sexy as h-e-double hockey sticks, but because I feel there’s a deeper meaning there. I find the slight differences from book 1 to book 2, hugely significant and somewhat telling. I don’t know if this was intentional (I hope to think it was), but I find it symbolic that Easton is no longer wearing a baseball hat on THE CATCH’s cover. And after reading the novel, I feel it is FLAWLESSLY fitting! Easton steps out from behind his baseball persona in a sense, in THE CATCH.
At the end of THE PLAYER, Scout and Easton got to a point where they both finally gave into the possibility of a future together, but then we’re left with a cliffy that rocks that possibility. Now, in THE CATCH, we jump right back in where the cliffhanger left us and with that cliffhanger brings discord and doubts. Lifelong insecurities and fears come into play that they will both have to overcome both personally and as a couple. Easton especially is hit with curveball after curveball throughout the novel, which has him questioning everything and everyone. “My world’s been turned upside down by first a dirty play and now what looks like a dirty deal.” –Easton. Scout feels like time is slipping between her fingers and she has no way to stop it. She is finally realizing, that in the end, she’s the one that will need to live with her decisions. “A daughter’s duty versus a woman’s wants.” –Scout. Both characters have to navigate these trails in life and overcome them. Only through the help and support of each other can they do so, but when old doubts and new obstacles keep pushing their way through, how will they make it without breaking?
THE CATCH was about so many relatable things. Overcoming your fears. Realizing what you planned for your future may not be what you get (or want any more for that matter) and that’s ok. You’re going to be ok! Allowing yourself the ability to love and be loved. Finding the magic again. Owning up to your downfalls and not running from them. Taking time to “have a day”. Oh the list goes on and on! I loved the tremendous growth we see from both Scout and Easton from THE PLAYER to THE CATCH…it’s astronomical. They both truly come into their own in this book. They both in a sense step out from behind their father’s shadows and become their true selves. It was awe-inspiring to read and beautifully written. I just love how Kristy brings something real into the story. Something that people can relate to. Alcoholism, parent/child relationship struggles, sexism, human frailty, pain of loss, insecurities, love. All things that people can relate to one way or another, whether it’s been personal or through others. This book will resonate with you one way or another.
Scout and Easton’s story surpassed ALL of my hopes and dreams. I savored EVERY SENTENCE, EVERY PAGE, and EVERY CHAPTER of this novel. And it’s been 5 days since I finished reading and I can NOT get this book off my mind. I have literally not picked up another novel since. I was left in happy tears with a giddy smile on my face at the end. In the end, all I feel is pure contentment and complete bliss after finishing this duet. It was pure magic. I couldn’t have asked for this book to go any other way than how Kristy imagined it and wrote it. This duet is my new top fav of hers! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! This book (and duet) will leave you reeling for days!
5 +++ Stars!

This book … I can’t even. My heart broke, became full, I was angry, I was sad … let’s just say I ran the gambit within the pages of this book. It seems like the more emotionally attached I become to a story, the worse I am at expressing myself in a review. You’ve been warned. If you thought The Player was a ride, JUST WAIT.
We left Scout & Easton at a pivotal moment in each of their careers. Easton needs to be cleared to play, and Scout needs to clear him in order to “earn” the contract for the Aces. I know you’re secretly hoping I’ll spill the beans, BUT YOU CAN’T MAKE ME. I’m a fortress of solitude, I’m a … you get the picture. As soon as I began I knew this was going to be rough. There’s so much brewing between Easton and Scout and in each of their lives, that one wrong move may wreck both of them.
I was really drawn to the family relationships. Scout and her father, Easton and his father, Easton and his mom – each of these dynamics was based on past events from their lives, and it seemed like many of these people were stuck in the past. At every turn something else was being unearthed and the web between everyone became even more tangled.
The relationship between Easton and Scout felt so real to me. They made decisions that affected the other without thinking, they got scared & angry, and overall they just effed up a lot and had to figure out how to find their way back to each other. Even when I wanted to knock their heads together, I could see they were genuinely trying to figure things out. And when they both just opened up their hearts … beautiful.
“Your dad told me to take care of his little girl. To let her be stubborn but know how to bend her will. To let her be girly but make sure she sticks her toes in the mud every once in a while. To let her run through a field with flowers in her hair with as much passion as she applies to healing her patients.
And most important, to let her love with a clear mind and a full heart.”
