After taking a little break form the series, I was looking forward to this one. It was okay and that’s about the best I can say about it. The whole set up of the mystery felt too contrived, KoKo’s involvement seemed like and afterthought, and the character interactions fell far flatter the usual. Still, it’s short and if you like the series, I’d say don’t skip it, since it’s still a fun bit of escape.
Koko and YumYum never fail to entertain and always solve the crime! Never a dull moment with Mr. Q.
I have read all of the Cat Who books, they are a light fun read. I enjoyed them very much!
I prefer dogs to cats but I did enjoy this series. Story line is relaxing with a cup of your choice. Mine is tea.
I absolutely love the characters in these books and they are so well written. Each one is different yet brings back the quirkiness and things I love about each character. You don’t have to be a cat lover to read these! I highly recommend.
All the “Cat Who…” books are fun. I buy for my grandchildren and my elderly mother. The books amuse both. I read thru on occasion.. very consistent.
I like this author and the “Cat Who” series.
This is a charming and exciting book. Quell is a reporter from a small town named Nectar. Qwell is amazingly good at drawing the correct conclusion. He has two Siamese cats who help him uncovering clues. The small town is trying to revive itself and begins by taking a row of older broken down stores and turning them into viable businesses. A quiet stranger lady comes to town. The local hotel is bombed and the stranger lady flees. Several other crimes are committed as well. Who could be the culprit. Grab a copy of this book today and help Qwell solve this mystery. A very good choice for a great laugh, cry, and mystery all in one
4 of 5 stars to The Cat Who Said Cheese, the 18th book in the “Cat Who” cozy mystery series, published in 1995 and written by Lilian Jackson Braun. Braun had a solid edition with this one, full of great characters, small town charm and a tasty murder or two. The cat are at it again with a flair for different cheeses… and after all, when the cat’s away, the mice will play. I enjoyed this book, and it’s one of the better ones in the series. The Great Food Expo hits Pickax, and we know this town loves food. When a murder happens, everyone’s surprised… even tho it’s at least the 18th time in 5 years. People just die in this town, quite frequently; however, that’s what makes it so fun. In this one, all the townspeople try to help Qwill figure out who did the deed… and they expect him to solve it. His mustache is twitching and that usually means he’s on to something. When you live in a small town, people will talk. When out-of-towners from outside the county venture in, people will talk. But in the end, it’s all those helpful clues which make the puzzle that much more easy to solve. These are fun books to devour in a single sitting for a few hours… makes for a doozy of an afternoon when you need some light reading.
