read most of her books. loved them. this one had no plot or no ending.
Not up to quality of earlier books! If you are a “Cat who ” fan don’t waste your money!
not as good as others
Egad! I thought this series ended years ago. I was so surprised to find a new one, and I plan to go back and re-read the older ones. I enjoyed every minute with Ko-Ko and Yum-Yum, as well as their two-footed friends. Always great to spend a few hours in Northern Michigan, land of my dreams, with the man who has my dream job. from Sandra
Always enjoy this series.
Gotta love Qwilleran
This book ends unexpectedly– I think because it is the last book from this author before she died. So it has an unfinished quality but the characters and storytelling otherwise are up to her usual standards
Good story, but incomplete
Was not the normal “all wrapped up” ending I’m used to from her, but another good Quill and Koko read.
I avoided these books for thirty years because of the “cat” in the title. But I was desperate before boarding a flight, and started the series. I’m glad I did! This is a well-written series with iconic characters, set in intrresting locales and the cat presence is underwhelming. Give these mysteries a try!
Love Lillian Braun’s characters, especially Jim Qwilleran. And the cats are (as always!) amazing. Easy read, delightful story, cozy mystery style.
I have read most of the cat who books several years ago and y enjoyed them immensely.
Very disappointed. I usually read a lot of the Cat Who books and enjoy reading them, but, this one came to such an abrupt end that I don’t know what the ending was. The title is The Cat who had 60 whiskers, what did this have to do with the story.
I have read most of the books in this series. I love the original premise and entertaining characters. There is repetition in every book to set the scene or remind the reader of the characters in case you have had a time lapse but the town is imaginary and is cleverly designed. The cats are fun and help with clues to crime. This light mystery series is a favorite for me.
I had followed Qwill, Koko and sweet Yumyum since I discovered the first books in the library. I knew the author was getting up in age, but still seemed OK in her writings. Until the end. Especially this one. I kept hoping there would be an explanation it was only a bad dream of Qwill’s. There really wasn’t a mystery, it rambled, people did things out of character, all in all it wasn’t a satisfactory last book. I would love for some aficionado of the series to take the helm (if possible) and write more of these original cozy mysteries. Have this book be a bad dream. I would go along with that premise. I think others would too, just to have Pickax and its citizens back in our lives.
What happened to the ending.
Great characters!
As a Siamese cat provider – never own one — I’ve read all her books and love them.
A warning that the book was unfinished when the author died would have prevented disappointment when the book ended without tying up loose ends.
Love this series
