Jake Wilkerson, a disillusioned young pastor who is an expert at hiding his fears, takes on a new assignment at a small rural church in Coudersport, Pennsylvania. It’s a far piece from anywhere and full of curiously odd and eccentric people, including Emma Grainger, a single woman and a veterinarian who dismisses all Christians as “those people,” and Tassy, a young runaway with a secret. His … first day on the job, however, Jake is adopted by Petey – a cat of unknown origins and breed – but of great perception. Petey believes that he is on a mission from God to redeem Jake and bring him and his quirky friends back to the truth.

It was such a pleasure reading this book. Thoughtful & Inspiring!!
This book was enjoyable and shows how some people (one of them being me) feel about pets. I love animals and think they are very therapeutic.
Loved loved loved this book. There should be more like this.
Made me think about how God might use animals to do His will.
Cute but didn’t leave me wanting more about this little guy. An easy no brainer read.
Very sweet book, especially if you’re an animal lover. Of course it’s fiction, but the cat definitely thinks he is sent by God to protect his new owner. Light-hearted and entertaining!
love animal stories!
loved the story
I enjoyed it so much. Was inspirational and educational the same time.
I like his other one also–the dog who talked to God.
Very enjoyable read. Inspirational .
It starts slow, but has a great message and tears at the end.
The cat has a great personality. Easy and relaxing reading
If you believe in God, you know he will use any means to help you,
I enjoyed this book. The plot was well written with some interesting twists. The characters were so human with real life dilemnas. The cat was amusing with a touch of wisdom thrown in. Viewing the situations thru the eyes of a cat made for enjoyment that a true cat lover would know and relish.
