Jake Wilkerson, a disillusioned young pastor who is an expert at hiding his fears, takes on a new assignment at a small rural church in Coudersport, Pennsylvania. It’s a far piece from anywhere and full of curiously odd and eccentric people, including Emma Grainger, a single woman and a veterinarian who dismisses all Christians as “those people,” and Tassy, a young runaway with a secret. His … first day on the job, however, Jake is adopted by Petey – a cat of unknown origins and breed – but of great perception. Petey believes that he is on a mission from God to redeem Jake and bring him and his quirky friends back to the truth.

Charming, Charming, Charming!
As a cat person, I enjoyed the story from the cats perspective of how God uses all His creation to fulfill His plans!
Having the cat be the inspiration to his human, wonderful story. Many good life lessons for us all. Humor throughout. All in all very enjoyable book.
Although the writing was somewhat different than the style I’m used to, I really liked this book. The characters, including Petey, the cat, are likeable and realistic. It gives much food for thought. And, I quite enjoyed reading some of the book through Petey’s eyes and thoughts.
Enjoyable story, Makes you think about the many people and animals who cross our path in life.
A very feel-good story.
An uplifting spiritual book that was quite entertaining.
This was my book of choice for holiday reading and I was not disappointed. I enjoyed the writing and thoughts through the mind of a cat.
Childish! A waste of time.
A very enjoyable read. One which I had a hard time putting down.
We are cat lovers so it was easy for me to enjoy Petey’s character in this light but inspirational read.
This book started slow but because I am a cat lover I wanted to see how it developed. Ended up loving the book. I highly recommend it.
Loved this book. I read The Dog Who Talked to God several years ago and was glad to see another book that was similar. Both were very nice, inspirational books.
Great fresh perspective! Different slant on how we Christians need to live.
Jim Kraus knows the mystique of cats, but I think even people who aren’t particularly fond of cats would like The Cat That God Sent. Petey, the cat’s private thoughts are hilarious and the general theme of the book is very uplifting. I hated to see this one end.
This is an easy read that was fun and uplifting.
I so enjoyed this book. Reminded me of Church activities at my home church, which was also a country church
Sweet little book with a “cat sent by God” as one of the main characters. He was better at listening to God than most of us, and I had to laugh at how
he did it!
Very good at showing how the Lord takes even the bad things in our lives and uses them for our good and His glory! Romans 8:28 Nothing is ever a surprise to Him!
What a great book to read for some fun and inspiration…all with a cat leading the way!
I also loved this book. I love cats anyway. Made me wonder what my cat is saying.
Awesome book a must read make sure you have your tissues handy. Love the book and the author
