What’s even worse than having a snarky talking tabby as your best friend? When he inexplicably goes missing… crime without the help of my partner?
The only other person who might be able to help me just relocated to Georgia. But I’m desperate enough to try anything, including exposing my secret to the whole of Blueberry Bay. Anything to bring him home safe.
Oh, Octo-Cat. Where have you gone?

The Cat Caper is another amusing installment of the Pet Whisperer PI series. The story is well-written, and it proceeds at lively pace. I recommend reading a Pet Whisperer PI series in order. It allows you to follow Angie and Octo-Cat’s journey from the beginning. I laughed frequently while reading about Octo-Cat’s and Angie’s latest entertaining adventure. I like that Angie can now talk with other animals without Octo-Cat’s assistance. The squirrel, Maple and the racoon, Pringle were hilarious. I thought the author captured the animals’ characteristics perfectly. I could just picture the excited little squirrel jumping around and having a fascination with peanut butter. Nan, of course, was her usual comical self. I admit to liking her latest crafted creation and Nan’s attire is certainly unique. Charles returns as well to help Angie and I am glad to see to see a brighter future in store for this pair. There is a sneak peak of Chihuahua Conspiracy at the end (I cannot wait to get it).
Angie and Octo-Cat are back and i love it. Angie is opening a pet whispering P.I. firm. Octo-Cat is missing and Angie must find him. Angie is starting to hear and talk to other animals now, I love it. The cutest part is when she talks to a raccoon. This book is an easy and fun read, so quick. This series is getting better and better. Check it out, you won’t regret it.
This is such a nice cozy mystery! I really liked it! It is very entertaining and super fun to read..
I have been provided with a copy of The Cat Caper by the author for an impartial review. This is the fifth book in the brand-new Pet Whisperer P.I. series and I just loved getting to reenter this amazing world. I just couldn’t get enough of this story. It was just so easy to get lost in and I loved getting to go along with Angie on her current mystery. This was just such a great read that I was able to finish it in one sitting. I just can’t wait to see what happens next with this series.
Here kitty, kitty. Darn where did that get to now? Two hours later still no cat, instead I received a letter that stated I had to be in court by Friday and to bring the cat with me. Oh want do I do now? Well like Dr Dolittle I went out to the yard and …talked with the animals. Like it so much I couldn’t put it now until I finished.
What a good story! I loved the forest animals.
The Cat Caper is an interesting and fun book to read. The characters are great. The mystery is interesting. There are lots of entertaining and fun interactions with animals. I really enjoyed this book.
A Wild Mystery
Molly Fitz’s does it again with another great mystery featuring Angie and Oct-Cat. When Oct-Cat is kidnapped its all hands on deck to find him. Lucky Angie’s powers have now expanded to other animals who help join the hunt for the missing cat. Will they find him in time or will they end up losing the house and Oct-Cat
Octo-cat is on the move and it’s up to Angie to get him back where he belongs. Her best asset has become her greatest weakness. Will the dynamic duo find their way back to each other? Fitz continues to score gold points with one of the most unusual sleuthing duos in print. Frustratingly fun, always intriguing and totally unpredictable. The Cat Caper will put a smile on your face.
Angie Russo can talk to animals but she started out by only being able to talk to her ca, Octavius, who was the heir for the woman who owned him before she was murdered. When Angie receives a summons for Octo-Cat to appear in court because Ethel’s will is being contested. The only problem is Octo-Cat is missing and the court date is in three days.
I really enjoyed this book and read it in one sitting. I was hooked from beginning to end. With lively characters both animals and people, The Cat Caper is an excellent read that will keep you guessing. I highly recommend both book and series which I suggest you read in order.
I enjoyed this book. The series is so quirky it is fun. I did miss not having the high demanding Octo-cat in it so much but found that I did like the ever pleasing raccoon Pringles and he more than made up for Octo-cat absence. There wasn’t really much mystery and even through they claimed to have a number of suspects, there was only really ever one. It was more a story about how Angie’s powers has developed and how she learns to talk to more animals. I did enjoy it and can’t wait to see how the new power’s will help her in the next book.
Octo-cat has gone missing and someone is after his money. With only days in order to produce him in court Angie, Nan and Charles are up against the clock to find him. Someone must have seen him being taken because there is no way his royal highness would every wander into the woods. With no human witnesses around Angie the Pet whisper P.I turns to the woodland animals for help. Can they get him back before the deadline or will they lose the house or more importantly will Octo-Cat lose his life like the ransom note suggests?
Book 5 is back on track after a misstep with Book 4. Once again, we were treated to a cozy that flowed smoothly and held my attention. Now that Angie can talk with all animals we have some new characters. I loved Pringle and Maple. I hope they return in future books. I hope this is the last we see of Ethel’s family and Breanne. Octo-Cat’s snide, snarky commentary was sorely missed in this book but at least we got a little bit of him. I felt the kiss was little rushed seeing as how Charles had just broken up with Breanne but at least the relationship between him and Angie is on the right track. I’m looking forward to reading Book 6.
Another great Pet whisperer story . Octo-cat goes missing and Angie needs help. Luckily she has all her friends to help. This series gets better and better.
“Crazy people will do anything if they think it will help them reach their crazy goals,” she said sagely.“
Angi, Nan, Cal, Charles and Octo-cat….wait a second, Octo-Cat’s missing?! Why, why would anyone take Octo? Would it have anything to do with the arbitration against Ethel Fulton’s estate? And why is Angi talking to a raccoon? Has she lost it permanently?
Seems the raccoon knows about Octo, he is obsessed with him; considers himself the president of his fan club [of which he may be its only member] and is determined to find him…no idea how or even why he’s so obsessed, but he’s great comic relief in a rather tense situation. Anger, road trips, undercover sleuthing lead to changes on all fronts. Can Angi find Octo? Does he want to be found? Does the catnapper have enough Evian?
Molly Fitz has done it again! Octo-Cat and his cronies are a great escape and I so love this series. Highly Recommended 5/5
[disclaimer: I received this book from the author and voluntarily reviewed it]
I just finished reading The Cat Caper (Pet Whisperer P.I. Book 5) by Molly Fitz .
This is another terrific story in the series and totally delightful. Add to a talking cat with attitude: , scarred talking birds, a peanut butter loving squirrel named Maple, and a feisty raccoon named Pringle. What fun! And everyone works together to solve the mystery of the missing cat-napped Octo-Cat! Cannot wait for the next book in the series!
Once again, Molly Fitz writes one hilarious mystery. It’s not a dead body she has to investigate, but someone has kidnapped Octo-Cat. This is another cozy mystery that I really enjoyed.
A cute, quick and entertaining read. Octo-cat gets taken and Angie uses her gift of talking with animals to help find him. The scenes where she talks to a squirrel and a raccoon are very humorous. Her Nan and Charles her boss help in the mystery
A fun read for everyone – even non cat owners.
Angie Russo, barely recovered from the shock of her newly acquired abilities, is distraught over Octo-Cat’s disappearance. Is it a coincidence that the relatives of Octo’s deceased former human owner are contesting the will? But when Angie receives a ransom note, it looks really bad. Where is Octo-Cat? Is he even alive?
Thankfully, the previous book is now more or less a bad dream, and we’re back in business. In THE CAT CAPER, Angie, Nan, and Charles investigate, along with some new furry characters. I loved Maple and the fab Pringle; I did miss our favourite feline, though.
The editing is much improved, there are only a few typos and misused words. With the higher price, I expected a longer book, but it was a fun and quick read, albeit rather slow-paced. I hope we get to see more of the reunion in the next installment, because I thought the ending was rushed.
Not my favorite P.I. Whisperer story. Seemed kind of slow, just didn’t keep my attention as the others in the series have.
I really like Pringle, he was hilarious, & little forgetful Maple is cute.
I was so happy & sad for Charles and hope the good happy part stays that way for both him and Angie, congrats on the new job.
