Safe in the ivory tower…Gabriel Miller swears he’ll keep me safe. Enemies lurk outside, waiting to strike. An army held back by these walls.Except some animal instinct warns me the danger is much closer. It’s already here. Is Gabriel my protector or my enemy? Is this house a castle or a cage? There’s nowhere for me to go, no one left for me to trust. No escape from a past determined to capture … escape from a past determined to capture its prize.
THE CASTLE is book three in the Endgame series from New York Times bestselling author Skye Warren about revenge and seduction in the game of love. This is the final novel in the story of Gabriel and Avery.

This book is edgy, and sexy and all the things a good dark romance book should be. I really enjoyed it!
This trilogy was a true roller-coaster for me. The Pawn was like that slow rise to the top of a roller-coaster ride where you’re not sure what exactly is coming but you know whatever it is will have you all keyed up for more! The Knight was the actual ride itself. Very twisty and turny and ridiculously high energy. The Castle is the slow down you get at the tail end of the ride so you don’t just stop abruptly.
Now I have to admit, I expected to have a little more ride in this book than what I actually got. And that could just be me because while I wanted more, the story wasn’t lacking as it is. For me, this section/book of the trilogy felt more like the growth of Gabriel than anything else. That was brilliantly written. It was all brilliant, but I felt like Avery was glossed over a bit. What happened to her … her past as a child is HUGE and the consequences of having those memories come back to her now is even HUGER (i know that’s not a word but go with it) and altho I read the words of her conflict, I didn’t feel them. They should have gutted me, but they didn’t. The intensity that I felt from The Knight just wasn’t there. That led me to be less captivated in the story. I could easily put it down if I had felt like doing so … of course I didn’t, but the sentiment/feel was there.
As I said, the story of Gabriel and Avery was a roller-coaster for me. But the skill that Skye Warren possesses cannot be doubted for a second. The woman takes angst to a new level. She makes a dark story pitch black. She pushes the envelope and she does it brilliantly.
A wicked read!
Safe in the ivory tower…
There’s nowhere for here to go, no one left for her to trust…
No escape from a past determined to capture its prize…
I devoured this book in just a few hours because once I started, I knew I would NOT be putting this book down! Totally unputdownable and wickedly dark and savage.
Full of emotion, angst, drama, intrigue, secrets, betrayal, seduction, manipulation, revenge and love.
Perfect for readers of contemporary romances/dark romances.
The reality of Avery’s life has come fully into light. Trapped in her castle, for her safety (hits a little close to home with this pandemic), but you can feel her frustration and seclusion, what it means to be isolated with only the internet as a portal. There is mystery and thrills and hot times. I could not put it down!
An absolutely amazing series!! I couldn’t get enough of the amazing characters and fantastic storyline. What a fabulous ride this was. So happy to read The Bishop next…Tanglewood is one of my favorite places!
This book is one of several in this series. I had not read any of this author’s book until this series. Now she is one of my favorite authors. This book is un predictable and an interesting read with a great plot. The characters are great!

The Castle was the third book and conclusion to Skye Warren’s End Game trilogy. They are designed to be read in order.
Warren started with Gabriel’s view in the Prologue. It was the first time we had heard directly from him in the series. It took us back to the first scene in book one, but from his perspective instead of Avery’s. Warren then took us straight into the present where The Knight left off.
I enjoyed the series. It was thought provoking with a suspenseful nature that kept me captivated from start to finish. I also enjoyed Gabriel and Avery and their progression as well as the secondary characters. Hopefully we’ll hear more from them in the future.
As a whole, I enjoyed all three books; however, this last one was anti-climatic for me. It did have intriguing twists and turns but I felt it could have been accomplished successfully as a duet versus a trilogy. With that said, it was still enjoyable and a worthy read.
The best of the series with revelations that you didn’t see coming.
Book two is as great as book 1, Love the two main characters. Great writing, excellent sexual tension. On to book 3!
This series is no Harlequin romance sort….its a great trilogy that kept me reading.

Review:
This is the last book in the series. there where some reveals that I wasn’t expecting. Some of it took a weird turn haha. Quite disturbing.
I’m still not feeling the relationship between the main characters a 100%. It’s something in their dynamic that just doesn’t sell it to me. And it’s not the fact they met how they met. Have no issue with that in my books. I don’t know what it is specifically.
There was a bit of a back and forth in this series that got annoying real quick haha. Not a fan.
Overall it was an oke read.

3 I enjoyed it Stars
This is book #3 in the series. You will need to read books 1& 2, as the characters and story are continuous.
Avery is still the little virgin Gabriel paid for at the auction. However, she has a bit more of an insight into Gabriel. She has learned somethings about his past, and what makes him tick.
Gabriel Miller is shielding Avery by locking her in his house – locking her in the tower so to speak, to keep her safe and keep her from harm.
I do not like how rough sexual Gabriel is with Avery. He’s been that way with her since book #1. I feel that she’s so tiny he could break her. Even as a virgin he was still rough with her, not going easy so to speak with her.
There are so many twists and turns on the story which the author does a brilliant job of weaving into the story.
I did receive a free ARC copy of this book. I am freely leaving an honest review.
Avery and Gabriel’s conclusion was perfect. Gabriel, who thought he could never love has found love. And Avery, who thought she was always loved by her family, has come to realize that love is found with the person you are with.
Skye Warren’s Tanglewood books are full of spectacular characters and very emotional moments.
Dark but compelling and somehow romantic. The end of Gabriel’s story. There are some scenes that are daek enough to be disturbing for some. But ending is fairly sweet and you will want to continue.
Good but odd too. HFN ending
Several analogies to chess, Greek gods and mythology.
The whole issue with her dad, just weird.
You get a glimpse of Avery & Gabriel in the “riches” series and they still not entirely happy.
Wonderful trilogy but not for the squeamish or puritanical. Lots of sex and sadism but this is offset by a great writing style. Sorry to see it end
This is the 3rd book in series. Need to read them in order.
Talk about surprising!
Ok, let’s get real, there have been some mind altering doozies throughout this series. I won’t spoil it for any one but clearly Ms. Warren has a way with “the great mindf@ck.” This book is no exception.
As an end draws near more questions arise. Which ones will have answers and which will leave you scrambling?
Just a pawn in the game. A simple Knight. But what becomes the end goal? Where can you go from here? What is worth saving?
I was so glad to finally get this hot little book in my hands. The anticipation for authors is awesome but readers’ ravenous need can be overwhelming. So feed a rabid fan! Know that you can trust no one, absolutely no one. Maybe then you will survive…
Reviewed for the Sweet Spot Sisterhood
Gah! What an ending to this trilogy! My heart broke for Avery, for Gabriel, Penny, and Damon. So much pain and hurting! The lengths Gabriel goes through for Avery. Their love for each other. All of it!! On one hand I hate that I took so long to read these but on the other I’m glad I didn’t have to wait to get all 3! Amazing!
The threats and destruction hasn’t stopped. Avery is still in danger and Gabriel is trying to protect or is he? Is she confined to his estate for protection or being kept in a gilded cage?
Skye Warren has woven such a tale of intrigue it leaves you with only one thing to do. Follow along till the very end. What a remarkable, steamy, heartbreaking, story. One of the best series I’ve read.
