Do you think the body’s eyes really see? How do you see in a dream? When the town librarian brings Penny a document with a forged signature on it, it’s up to Penny to get to the bottom of it. Someone isn’t happy to have Penny poking around for clues. Rich Dempsey, a retired mine worker, is killed. Could a mysterious gold nugget hold the answers?
Another good book in this series. I would have liked to seen more of Max but I’m bias that way. Penny is really getting better with her PI. The coven is also progressing nicely. I loved seeing Marley’s familiar. This was a great who-done-it case, with Penny learning which each case and with Turkey. My favorite is still Turkey, I wish my cat could talk. I would love to see more of Max and Penny in the future.
*I received a free copy of this book via the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.*
Hazel and her coven have business to take care of. They’ve been keeping the portal to other worlds closed but realize that it’s not the answer. The next chapter in their witch instruction book is the vision spell. They need to master that. And now Hazel has to resolve why the signature on a 50 year old will doesn’t match anything else that person signed.
Marley has found her familiar. Turkey is up to his own magic. This series just gets better and better!
I have been following Penny and Turkey since the beginning and this is the best book yet. Penny is kind of kooky and her best friend-familiar is a cat named Turkey who uses the internet to make money. Her boyfriend, Max, is a vampire and did I mention that she’s also a witch and a Private Investigator in training. In training because Turkey is helping her learn what she needs to know to be a P.I. Her coven meets at the Death Csfe. Did I mention that there are werewolves and a spiritual portal in to Hillcrest. There’s more but you need to find out for yourself. This is a great book. Like I said you’ve got to read it!
I absolutely love this book, and the entire series! Penny and the gang once again have to learn a new spell, solve a murder, and protect the portal! I can not wait for the next book in this series. I could not put it down until I reached the end. I received it as an ARC, and this is my honest opinion. Read this series if you haven’t had the chance!
I received an advanced copy of this book. I LOVE this series! Amorette does it again with this one! In this one Penny is given the last will of a town hero by the librarian, Rebecca . She noticed that the signature didn’t match other ones in the collection. Rebecca asks Penny to look into to. Penny and her group also have a new spell to work on, this one to improve their vision. This is another great addition to the series and once again I can’t wait for the next one!
It was my first time as an ARC reader. I have read the other four books before this. The series is enjoyable and humorous. Penny and friends overcome many obstacles with humor and help from her friends.
Penny and her fellow witches have to learn how to use their intuitive vision and not rely on their physical sight. When your new to being a witch and having been human for 20+ years, it is difficult to let go of what you are used to. Thankfully, a not so trusted witch from another coven, arrives to help them let go of their fear and cast the vision spell.
This is suck a cute series and I recommend reading from the start to keep up on all the spells, romance, and righting wrongs in order.
I received this as an ARC for my honest review.
Wow. This book was the best yet in this series. Penny is growing. I like her new independent nature. Thanks to Turkey, she is learning a lot. He has a perception of what constitutes an adult and he is determined to fit Penny in that mold. She is often amazed at the things that make a person an adult and so was I. Penny is becoming a very good private investigator. This is obviously something she enjoys doing. Azure is also changing. She is starting to become a decent person. She came to help the ladies with their Vision Spell. The Earth Coven has their own way of doing things and it works for them. Marley now has a familiar. The characters are well developed. The story line is easy to follow and flows nicely.
I received an ARC of this book, and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Another fantastic and fun book by Ms. Anderson. Every book in this series is wonderfully entertaining and this one includes something extra…original artwork by the author. The sketches make the book so much more fun to read (if that’s even possible considering I love her writing!). Penny once again has to hunt down a killer while learning more about being a witch with her friends. This mystery is highly entertaining and you will not be disappointed with this book. Although I received an advance copy of this book, I also bought it! That’s how much I enjoyed it. You will, too. This is my honest review.
Great as usual. I love the series and I can’t wait for the next one. I was excited to meet Marleys familiar. I did not know about the different types of familiars or how they pertained to each witch. The story is about how Marley gets kicked out of the mine and how her landlord is murdered. There’s fraud and gold amdmagic. What more could you want?
This book in the series is mostly about a mystery of a forged signature and then a murder. It was a little painful seeing Penny work this case out as she is constantly breaking the law to find out clues. It works out for her in the end, as her constant good luck goes thankfully, but it was still a little painful reading it. I caught myself more than once saying “NO. Don’t do that!” and being a little appalled by it all. She even loses direction at one point just to learn the secret ingredient of a recipe when she is supposed to be working on the case. The case itself is a little complicated, so you most likely won’t know “who done it” until the end.
There is very little “witchiness” in this one though. The spell they learn is barely mentioned, and when they finally do it, you don’t really get a conclusion to it. I’m hoping there is more coming in future books with spells they learn and more coven activities as they advance with their witch powers.
I received a free copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily giving my honest review.
I received an ARC copy of this book for an honest review. As usual with ARC editions, the editing and proof reading had not been done yet, so I will not comment on that. However I was very pleased by the writing in this 5th book in the series. In book one Penny Banks is a bit dizzy, and a total flop as a private investigator. She is left a guide to becoming a witch by the death of the town witch, and shares it with the three other ladies in her knitting circle. Soon they have become a coven, and as Penny grows as a witch she also develops as a person. She grows as a person, as a witch and as a PI in each book. In this book she is quite a bit more together and although Turkey, her male cat familiar, is smarter than Penny at times (fine by me since I am a cat person), she is still becoming quite the PI and much more skilled as a witch. The murder in this book is totally engaging, and the addition of the next familiar in the group goes to her best friend, Marley, and is perfect for her. Looking forward to getting to know this amazing bird (an owl) and seeing what the fourth member of the coven/knitting circle teams up with in the way of a familiar. All of the characters in this series are interesting, and I highly recommend it.
Loved it! The coven is really coming together. They are all using magic successfully and familiars are coming! Penny is finally confident as a PI. Definitely a great read!
I received an arc and this is my honest opinion.
I love this series by Amorette and it’s been fun to see Penny gaining confidence in herself with each book.
Each book gives the readers some nuggets to apply in their lives that will make us better. We all need to leave our comfort zones and embrace new truths that come our way. It will make us all better people if we do.
I heartily recommend this series to young and old alike. Do yourself a favor and start this series. You’ll be glad you did!
A chance to see with more than my eyes, would be very magical. Loved the book and the series. Penny is so hopeless that it is totally fun to see what trouble she gets herself into. Being a witch is definitely not a natural state for Penny. This story starts when Penny is hired as a PI to look into a possible forgery of a will. Little did she know that some people do not want the truth to come out and will do anything to stop her. Cannot wait for the next book in the series, they are such fun.
What a great addition to the series!!! I love Penny and her gang of want to be witches
Another amazing Paranormal Cozy Mystery. I love the way the author describes characters and their interactions. This allows the reader to follow the actions throughout the book. Very interesting and entertaining. Can hardly wait for the next book in this series!
Love this Series! Starts off with a book showing by 2 Authors that turns wrong. Then there is a will that has a funky signature on it. Finding the answers takes us on Many twists trails.
I received an ARC copy for an honest review of Case of the Vision Spell.
I love this series and this book did not disappoint. It’s been a delightful journey of watching the Terra Coven grow and mature as witches and humans.
In this book Penny really has a twisting mystery to solve. It started with a new client for her PI business. The town librarian is researching a town hero. She discovers the signature on the person’s will looks to be forged. She asks Penny to look into it. Penny accepts the job and wonders how she can figure it out. With each interview she discovers things just don’t jive.
Oh and Marly has found her familiar. You just have to read what and who it is.
You just can’t go wrong with this delightful series. It’s going to be hard to wait until the next book comes out.
I enjoyed reading this book very much. I was an arc reader. This is the first book by the author that I have read and I just started the second.
