I had the opportunity to read the ARC and give my honest opinion.
I loved this book. I look forward to reading the paperback version of this book. I recommend it highly. This author is fantastic.
Wonderful!!!
The final book in this wonderful series. And now I’m parts sad and parts elated. Elated because it was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. as usual, and sad because it’s over. After 14 books (including the prequel, which you should definitely read first!) it’s over… Yes, I know that whatever Anderson will write next will be equally excellent. But I’ve come to love Penny and Turkey-Werkey so!!!
What a ride it has been. And what a learning curve for Penny. And Turkey! What I love most is the conversations between Penny and Turkey. I am so happy that I discovered this series and its wonderful characters. Really, truly, honestly one of THE best series out there!
Anderson, thank you for all the amazing hours of reading fun you have given me. Thank you for the lessons in life you have given me. Thank you for the joy.
his is the last spell in the *Art and Science to Becoming a Witch*, however, Amorette Anderson hasn’t let that stop her. Our heroine, Penny, has really grown and blossomed both as a witch and a private investigator, and when the local director of the Hillcrest Players comes and reports that someone had tried to kill him she takes on the case even if part of her thinks it’s just his usual “dramarama”. And Penny, who admittedly isn’t a “theater person”, joins the cast to find out what is actually going on. The question becomes can she balance work as her place in the Terra Coven well enough to complete the last chapter.
In the meanwhile Cora and the triplets are not finding any happy medium as the toddlers are coming into their own powers while navigating sibling rivalry; Marlie and Skili are off on a vision quest; Annie is working on her cafe, and even Turkey/Thomas is busy with an online assignment…Will everything come together for good? Will Penny solve the case? Will the show go on? And will the Happiness spell make everything good? You’ll just have to read and find out.
Amorette Anderson writes a great story. Although this may be the last of the Penny books, I’m sure it’s not the last of the Hillcrest Witches. I highly recommend this book and this author.5/5
[disclaimer: I recieved this book as a gift from the author and voluntarily read and reviewed it]
Penny certainly has her hands full this time around. She is in a play and she has to figure out who murdered on of the actors in the Playhouse Threatre Group. Turkey is very involved in this story with Penny and the rest of her Terra Coven friends. I really loved this book and I am going to miss all the characters that we have come to love so much. But what a way to close out the series. I thought it was very well done.
This is the final spell that Penny and her friends need to complete in order to become witches. Throughout this series, I have enjoyed reading about the journey this group of women have undertaken and their amazing, supportive friendship. I recommend that you read this series in order as each book builds on the previous stories.
Another wonderful addition to the series. And, a great way to end it. Ms. Anderson’s writing is a fun way to spend hours getting to know the zany characters in her books, especially the wonderful main character Penny. This book can be read as a stand-alone but Please do yourself a favor and start at the beginning with “The Love Spell”. Fall in love with the characters like I did. You won’t be sorry.
Penny Banks is coming to the end of the cycle of learning to be a witch. All she and her coven have to do is complete the cycle with the happiness spell. Penny has been hired by the director of the local theater to find out who wants to kill him. For cover Penny has taken the part of the second wall in the production of Ramona and Julius. So, all Penny has to do is find the potential murderer, learn to complete the happiness spell, help with the triplets, and possibly save the Earth.
This is a series that I have enjoyed from the beginning. And I was sad to read this book as it completes the cycle and the series. I have thoroughly enjoyed every step in Penny’s growth and develop as a witch and a person.
At each book of this serie, one learns a lot. Learns that love, friendship and respect are the pinnacle of life. Learn that we could be the witch of our lives that depends exclusively on us to be happy or not. I do love Penny and her coven’s stories and I do hope Amorette will keeping telling us their stories though their training finished. Thanks for this wonderful, blissful and magical journey.
This was a great book to end the series with. I will be sad to see this series go. The first books were hard to get behind Penny but she grew as a person during the series. I am happy to say I went on this journey with Penny, Turkey and her coven. If you have read the rest of the series then you will be happy with this last book. I hope in some future we catch up with this town and Coven.
*I received a free copy of this book via the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.*
Penny has been hired to solve a murder in the Theater Department. As usual, she does not know anything about acting, but she will do anything to solve the murder. Little does she know that she also will fighting to save the Earth Realm. Amorette’s writing has been consistent, the plot has been flowing and the characters are full of energy and life. I will not say anymore, I recommend getting this book as well as the series. It is a family oriented book. Thank you
The Case of the Happiness Spell, AKA the happy series ending.
This is it: the Terra Coven is ready for the last spell in their guidebook, after which they’ll be full-fledged witches. It’s been fun to follow them through the 13 spells as they grow in power. They’ve also achieved balance in their personal lives and taken their places as guardians of the Earth Realm portal.
The heroine, Penny, and her feline familiar, Turkey, have blossomed. Believe it or not, Penny actually gets paid for her PI work in this book! She needs to solve a murder at the community theater, working undercover with a role in the current play, that of ‘
“Wall #2!”
There’s a lot of humor here, but fewer laughs due to Penny’s bumbling attempts as an investigator, and casting a few spells with unintended results. The entire series is cozy, easy to read, and bings the reader tongue-in-cheek chuckles.
This was the last book in the series but left me flying high and waiting to see where Amorette Anderson would go next. Everything that the Penny and the coven has gone through culminates perfectly in this story. Terrific read. A must get book.
Red Robin
I recommend this series wholeheartedly. It is clean fresh and full of wonderfully imagined happenings of the magical variety. You will chortle and laugh outright and read way past your bedtime but most of all each of these 13 book will leave you happy and refreshed.
RECOMMENDED WITH A CAPITAL R.
Oh, I’m terribly sad that this may be the last that we see of my favorite knitting circle/coven. I must say, this was one a great book and it truly made me feel happy at the end. The writing as always it full of humor and wit and I can’t wait to see what’s next.
Penny and her coven have a lot going on. Penny has another case, an actress is murdered. She and the coven are working on the happiness spell. A representative from the other realms wants to quarantine earth unless they convince her otherwise. They want to build a magical space for people using their magic.
This is a wonderful cozy paranormal mystery full of action amazing characters and of course magic. The characters are full of life and for those of us that have read the entire series, old friends. The mystery was full of surprises, great clues, unexpected twists and turns that keep you engaged until the end. It is creative and well crafted. This is a great cozy paranormal mystery worth reading.
I received this book for free and have voluntarily left a review.
Case of the Happiness Spell by Amorette Anderson like the rest of the series is funny and laugh out loud good! The characters including the diversified familiars are quirky and loveable. Their relationships are the best parts. The perfect fun, relaxing, no stress read
Penny and her friends are studying the 13th and final spell in their book, ‘The Art and Science of Becoming a Witch’ (ASBW) and Penny has been hired by the town’s community theater’s director, who is insisting someone is trying to kill him.
Penny becomes part of the cast to more easily investigate if someone really is trying to kill the director. It soon becomes evident that the director is a real drama king. In fact, most of the actors are pretty good drama queens and kings, too. When someone dies, Penny knows there is more happening than just some petty drama.
This may be the final spell in the ‘The Art and Science of Becoming a Witch’ book and the series, but I expect we will be hearing more from Penny, Turkey and the rest of the coven and their familiars. Afterall, magic and spells are ever evolving and there is always something more to learn, spells to tweek and mysteries to solve.
This series is best read in the order written to be a part of the growth in Penny and her friends as they learn each spell. I did receive an advance copy of this five star story from the author and this is my honest review of this fun witchy cozy mystery.
I received this ARC as a review crew for my honest opinion.
Penny and her coven have come a long ways. In the very beginning they were just an ordinary knitting group. Now they have one more chapter to read and one more spell to learn. But our private investigator Penny and her smart assistant/familiar Turkey have a client. He’s the director of the community playhouse. He thinks someone is out to kill him. What better way to investigate than be a part of the current play. But Penny also has to work on the last spell….the Happiness spell.
It’s a wonderful book to read. This series is a G rated series.
As this the last one of this series it’s a wonderful read.
And there might be a new series with one of the characters. Stay tuned and follow Amorette Anderson to see her new books.
Once again Penny and Turkey have solved a murder in Hillcrest. I look forward to Penny and Turkey ( along with her coven) solving more mysterious in the future. I look forward to seeing what they can get in to next. A great read. – Monica L.
Penny is hired by Ian,the community theater director, because someone has tried to kill him. When one of the cast members is killed Penny is stumped. In addition to all this she discovers the other realms want to quarantine the earth realm unless she can convince them otherwise! Her coven is also finishing the 13 spell. The happiness spell.
I have loved this series. I absolutely love Turkey, Penny’s familiar and her coven members. I’m sad that this is the final book in the series! But I’m excited to see what The author has next for u. This was an amazing book and fantastic series!
Book #13 was so bittersweet….watching Penny and her coven grow and become witches has been captivating and fun. Penny has come into herself and become what she was meant to be. And Ms. Anderson has also grown in her writing and her plots. As usual Penny gets caught into another murder while also trying to save Earth Realm. For Penny its never just one thing and just when you think she has spread herself too thin and is lost it falls in place. Even better with each book the murderer has been harder to figure out. Penny and her coven have become my coven and my family and I hope to see more adventures of Penny, her coven and their familiars. I will definitely be following Ms. Anderson’s writing as I find it witty, fun and captivating. As a ARC reader I am privileged to get to read before release and feel a part of the books and her family. Can’t wait to see what she come up with next!
