Sun, sand, and surf. What could be better? Penny Banks, amateur PI, is on vacation! She’s all ready to relax and soak up the sun, but it seems the magical universe has other plans for her. A local woman goes missing, and Penny takes the case…
I loved this book as much as I have loved all the others in the series. In this book Penny and her boyfriend Max have decided to have a planned elopement on a sunny island. On arriving they find that a local girl is missing and her boyfriend asks Penny to take the case. Penny and her coven are supposed to be studying and performing the Freedom spell, but Penny is unsure about this one and if she should actually cast the spell. There are many twists and turns in this story, but the journey is well worthwhile.

This is the next to last book in series or just the ASBW lessons? (hoping we get the pups growing up).
If familiar with the book and series then go ahead read. If not then highly suggest you start with book one since the lessons build upon each other. Although you can read each as a stand alone.
This particular book only involves Penny, Max and Turkey. It does not include her coven sisters (till end). They are planning an elopement, Penny needs to do her lesson by herself, and Turkey meets up with some online friends. Of course Penny cannot stay away from a crime. The rest is for you to read.
Now, yes I gave it five stars because it is done well. However, I am personally not quite happy with it. Penny has no siblings and is always calling her friends her sisters. My interpretation of her character would not leave her coven sisters out of being at her wedding to Max.
In the earlier series books, they all shared how the lesson affected them and what they learned. I REALLY REALLY LOVED that in the series. I seem to be missing that. Their lesson are/were life lesson that I thought everyone could learn.
Now don’t get upset. This is just my own opinion.
This is my honest and freely given review. I did receive an ARC book.

I received an ARC copy of this book for an honest review.
I am loving this series of book’s, but I really enjoyed this book because it was just about Penny and Max and Turkey, as they were eloping to a beautiful paradise island to get married.
Of course it wouldn’t be as straight forward as that something was bound to happen, and it does.
Penny opens a local paper and sees a missing person story, which catches her attention. Her and Max then go and want to rent a kayak, and low and behold the man who owns the store is the is the boyfriend of the missing girl
Penny let’s him know that she is a PI, so he hires her to investigate his missing girlfriend.
This is when the story gets really good, I’m not going to give any more details away, you’ll have to read the book to see what happens. But let me tell you that it’s Penny we are talking about, so there are lot’s of head slapping moments, laugh out loud and lot’s of how on earth are you going to manage to get out of this type moments.
You won’t be disappointed I promise
I for one can’t wait to read the next instalment and would definitely recommend this book

“I’m hardly a philosopher,” I say. “Oh, you are,” Max says. “You simply speak about your philosophy of life by discussing alibis and the truthfulness of your suspects.“
Max and Penny are planning a two week vacation in Florida, and Turkey’s coming too! And Penny’s got some magical witch homework to do: The Freedom Spell. Can she do it without the rest of the Terra Coven?
She, Max and Turkey stumble into an ongoing mystery as a well known entrepreneur’s ex-girlfriend is missing. Of course PI Penny Banks is on the case! And it’s as tangled as a kelp bed at the bottom of the sea outside the cottage Max reserved for them. Will they find the missing girl in time? Will Turkey come home after meeting his friends in the Naughty Familiars Association? And, will the Freedom Spell work?
I can’t believe it’s the 12th book already. I know there are 13 chapters..does that mean the next is the last one (say it ain’t so!) These books are just so original and wonderful I love reading them! Highly Recommended 5/5

Penny decides to go on vacation and soak up the sun and have fun at the beach for a couple of weeks. Being the P.I. that she is, of course she can’t sit still and picks up a case which is action packed, fast paced and keeps you turning pages just as fast as you can read. Wonderful book, with twists you never see coming. These books just get better and better.

This book is the best so far and that’s how it should be as each book gets better and better!
I wholeheartedly recommend this entire series to cozy readers who like drama, suspense, action, laughter and moments where you will shed some tears!
Penny and the gang will entertain you as only good friends can! They are my friends and though the series has only one final book in it I know that I will return to my friends and read all about their exploits again and again.
You really should get the entire collection to immerse yourself in Penny’s life within these pages. She is a girl just struggling to get by who receives an unexpected gift. She shares that gift with her knitting circle on how to be a witch. You
have a ringside seat as they go through each chapter in ASBW that will change them from being ordinary humans to witches!
Who says witches are all bad? I remember a series I watched as a teenager entitled Bewitched where I learned that not all witches are bad. Amorette has so lovingly painted the same picture and the reader is able to see how the changes affect Penny personally as this series is about her transformation from ordinary girl to a witchy one.
Please join Penny, Turkey, Max and the knitting circle girls as their experiences come alive under the magical guidance of a wonderful author named Amorette Anderson.
Please get the entire series so you can experience the laughter, thrills, spills, tears that
Penny and her friends experience within the pages of these books. You will be happy you did I guarantee it!!

This is one of my favorite books so far in this series. That is probably because we get a lot of Max in this one. Penny and Max go on vacation. It is a working vacation. Penny is always in PI mode and she hits on a big case while on vacation. Penny is getting better and better with her PI skills. This book turns out happier then most of her other cases. Big things happen for Penny and as always she learns more things about herself.

I love every book this author has written. And, this one is no exception. Each book in her Witches of Hillcrest series is better than the last. I will be so sad when the series comes to an end but fortunately I can go back and start reading them again. Do yourself a favor and read these books….and every one that comes afterwards!

Amorette has become one the best author’s in my opinion of cozy writing books that I have read. Every book that she she has written is better than the previous one. This one is fantastic. She is consistent with her characters and the flow of the book, it is very family friendly and it is simply marvelous. Penny and Max are on their elopement trip as they call it and Penny gets involved in a case, of which, Max does not mind. As she is trying to solve it, she realizes that she has to perform the freedom spell too. I am not going to spoil it for the readers. You want to find out what happens, like I say in every review, get the book, it is worth it, in fact, get the series…..Thank you…..
