A historic castle. A beautiful wedding. A dead groom.
Former big city cop, Inspector David Graham, is now leading a small group of officers in the tiny coastal village of Gorey. One Sunday morning, as he walks around the imposing Orgueil castle, Graham’s peaceful life comes to a shuddering halt when he finds a woman kneeling beside the body of a stricken man. As the woman’s screams ring out, … out, Graham is there to assist – and to start gathering clues. Was it suicide? An accident? Or something far more nefarious?
Questions lead to trails that send the team digging through the history of not only the affected families, but the castle itself where a quartet of talented musicians have seemingly vanished. Monolithic in size and secrets, Orgueil Castle may reveal answers in the strangest…. and deepest ways possible.
With one dead, four missing, and many long-buried family secrets, Inspector David Graham wonders if there is enough tea to see him through it all.

Excellent cozy mystery. Very unpredictable to me. An early twentieth century type detective in the twenty-first century, DI David Graham pulls it off. Three separate crimes solved in one delightful story
Based on “The Inspector Graham Mysteries: Books 1-4 (The Inspector David Graham Series Boxset Book 1)” borrowed via Kindle Unlimited on November 16, 2018.
Book 3 and they just keep getting better and better. I enjoyed this book it was like 2 stories in one. The missing musician was a fun twist from the normal cozy mystery. Inspector David Graham is coming into his own and his co-workers are developing into great characters. Can wait to read more and learn more about this fun group.
Page turner from start to finish. Wonderful characters, with twists and turns throughout the story, and a very unexpected ending. Highly recommend! Looking forward to the next book.
The Case Of The Fallen Hero – Book 3
Set a few weeks after the events of the second book, Inspector Graham has begun to settle into a routine that is helping to keep his demons (discussed in the first book) away. His plans of a quiet Sunday morning exploring a nearby castle before the normal tourists arrive are dashed upon the thick stone when a newlywed husband’s death is discovered. Another engrossing who-done-it from this author where it’s difficult to pin down just who is the murderer (if it’s even a murder). Because crime never manages to arrive only one investigation at a time, this story also includes another side mystery involving the string quartet who played at the wedding held at the castle.
The humor becomes more pronounced from the previous story as the characters become more comfortable with each other.
Reading the previous books in this series is not necessary to enjoy this one, but they will provide additional depth to various comments and situations.
Really good character development. Want to read the next one in the series!
Great cozy mystery!
Too many things going on. The past becomes important to the present, Two different plots going on at the same time, with hints thrown in at various points. Not hard to read, but pay attention to what’s going on in each scenario…hints abound, and I missed some of them,
Okay storyline but but not anything special.
Jerky and disconnected. predictable
Definitely want to read more of this series…hope a new one comes out soon!
Enjoyed the varied characters and views into the worlds of policing and musicians. Would read other books by this author.
Loved the characters in this book. Hard to guess the killer.
Cdid not enjoy, just not interesting to me
Light, but enjoyable.
The main story was okay, if a bit predictable, but the book was bogged down with a secondary story line involving the musicians. I am new to the series and perhaps the musicians are integral to the series, but there was no intersection with their story and the main story so it just seemed like filler.
Very dull and predictable.
I thought this book was a silly, total waste of time!
For anglophiles!
This author does a good job with the DI Graham books. These are some of my favorite characters.
i loved the addition of a second sub-plot, wondering if they were connected or not!
