Are you ready to learn some Earth Magic? Penny Banks, amateur sleuth and witch-in-training, is hitting the books. This time, she’s studying elemental magic — Earth Magic in particular. At the same time, a skeleton turns up in her friend’s back yard. Could it be a missing Earth Magician, who disappeared six years ago? Our Penny is growing up!
I feel like I’m Penny’s mother, full of pride, as I watch her accepting more and more responsibilities and growing into a young woman. As she begins setting aside her childish ways you can almost see her “wings” sprouting as she grasps what it means to “spread your wings and fly”. As I’ve read these books I’ve been patiently waiting for this moment! Our Penny is finally starting to grow up! She and her coven of witch-sisters are all growing into their new life so beautifully! Another fantastic read from my all-time favourite author!
This book is magical in every sense of the word!
PI Penny is getting really comfortable with being a witch. When Penny and her friends find bones, they believe them to belong to a magical being, and therefore they don’t call the police. They investigate The Case of Mr. Bones and his Bling themselves. But of course there’s more. A real challenge for Penny: the five realms are out of balance. And it’s up to her to help restore the harmony between the realms. But she’s easily distracted LOL!
Penny rides her bike everywhere and I like that. For a PI she’s not very observant though! I can’t help but laugh out loud at her! Penny, Penny, Penny, still blurting things out without thinking first! There’s some very imaginative magic in this book, very Penny-like! SO FUNNY!!!
I like the fact that Penny and her friends were humans and are now well on their way to becoming witches. They weren’t born with powers, they are learning now, so there’s hope for me yet!
This was a fantastic book. It is a page turner and very easy to read. I recommend it. I hope to get it in paperback someday.
Penny , amateur PI and witch in training is busy being a maid of honor for her friend Cora! While helping her other friend they come across a skeleton of a magical creature. When they realize it’s one of the elementals they must find the murderer so the cult of Murdock can reunite and set the world into balance again. Trying to do this while also trying to be the best maid of honor she can has Penny losing sleep and Is busier than ever. This is the 7th book in the series! I love all the different characters and personalities! This book is full of action, mystery and mayhem while still finding space to be funny. You can read this as a stand-alone! I recommend this quick and quirky read!
PENNY AND THE PETULANT WARLOCKS
Penny leads us on another thrilling chase through Hillcrest that even hops to the Bahamas….l know Crazy hey?!
Hopefully the wedding goes smoothly, Penny doesn’t fall off her highheels going down the isle and her home gets rid of that terrible smell!
There’s a murder mystery, of course and romance is in the air. Recommended reading
That was something! Exciting! Nail biting! Cora’s wedding is days away and Penny does a very impulsive thing. I loved it! I loved how her PI abilities are growing as well as her magical abilities.
Penny and the gang are back again and this time they are learning the earth spell. Cora is getting married so everyone is excited about it. Just one problem, they find a dead body who happens to be from the Coven of Murdock. This coven does a singing ritual that creates harmony between the five realms. But there hasn’t’t been harmony since a member disappeared six years ago and each Warlock went their separate ways. Can Penny, Turkey and the rest of the coven get them back together and if they try, what’s going to happen to Cora’s wedding?
This is another fantastic book from the Hillcrest Witch Mystery Series. It is filled with unique and interesting paranormal and human characters. As usual things are not as simple as Penny hopes, there are twists, turns, obstacles and creative situations that make an interesting storyline with a great ending. Anderson is so creative and weaves a great story that has everything you would want from a paranormal mystery, suspense, humour, abundance of clues, some action, great dialogue and some romance. If you have not read this series and you enjoy cozy paranormal mysteries then you really need to start reading it.
penny is a young pi and witch in training. while visiting a friend a mystery is uncovered. join penny and her coven as they learn to become strong witches.
This is another good book in this series. I love the group of women who are learning to be witches by studying a book that Penny inherited. These women have each others’ backs. When Silas digs up a skeleton while leveling/extending a parking area, Penny realizes that it is “other realm” business. She and her friends investigate. More than solving a murder is at stake.
This is another rollicking installment of Penny Banks and her coven. Cora and Silas are getting married! Marley, Penny’s best friend who lives in her van, is having some of her property dug up and smoothed by Silas and his backhoe. While scooping, an old, buried, magical being’s bones are unearthed. Thus begins an information session, an open house tour, a search for the Coven of Murdoch members, the putting together of the wedding, and a convoluted plot involving murder. The plot twists and leaking of information is exquisite and the wedding is captivatingly wicked!
Totally loved this book.

Penny Banks a witch in training is at he fiend and fellow witch Marley when the skeleton of Earlick a warlock of the Coven of Murdock is unearthed. He was part of a coven who every sixth year was responsible to cast a spell maintain a balance between the five realms. All Penny needs to do is find the murderer and at the same time be the maid of honor in her friends Marley wedding and complete the Earth Spell. Another enjoyable read that will make you wanting to check out the other books in the series I highly recommend the book. I received an ARC copy of the book and volunteered an honest review.
This series just keeps getting better. The characters are developing and the mysteries are getting more complicated. There is some romance and quite a few laughs. Penny and her coven are slowly working their way through the spells and learning more about their craft. You can read each book as a standalone but you will really get more out of it if read in order.

Awesome book! I love how the coven is working their way through the spell book and learning each spell. I recommend anything written by Amorette Anderson.

The week before Cora and Silas’ wedding, Penny and Marley discover a body buried on Marley’s new property. They soon discover that the deceased was a magical being and has been missing for years. The knitting witches now find themselves learning a new spell (the Earth spell) and wondering how it is going to help them solve the murder. But first, they must get a magical group of singing magicians back together by Cora’s wedding to bring balance to all the elements. When fingers are pointed at one another, Penny doesn’t know if she can get the magicians together before a major disaster occurs.
This is a madcap adventure showcasing Penny’s new (and better) ability of being a PI. She, of course, gets the help of the other witches and her trusty cat familiar Turkey. If you are looking for a book with a great storyline, fun characters, paranormal elements, and madcap adventure, then you are in for a real treat.
I enjoyed this book as much as the previous ones. Penny and her coven seemed to have turned a corner on their path to witch-hood, much closer to ‘being’ than ‘learning.’ When bones are uncovered on Marley’s land, Penny rushes in to the mystery head first, without thinking, and that leads to some chaos right before Cora’s wedding. OK, some things don’t change.
I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
The Earth Witch coven becomes more acquainted with the Earth
Penny is getting really good at listening to her intuition. She has been learning a lot with her daily educational sessions with her familiar Turkey. I think that Turkey is also growing. He is becoming less of a home body and seems to enjoy getting out and going places. The coven in general all seem to enjoy the investigating. They get excited about the cases and provide input. As a team, they are all a good match. I really enjoyed this book.
Witchy PI Penny Banks is back, trying to solve a cold-case murder by bringing together her suspects from 4 realms — via invitations to Cora’s wedding! Naturally, the pregnant bride, already on a hormone high, is NOT happy about a possible blowup on her special day. The Terra Coven’s is trying the Earth Spell this month and, of course, there are predicaments and laughs along the way. Each book in this series is better than the last, with Penny & the witches growing their powers, their romances, and appetites for the requisite baked goods. I recommend this quick and cozy read!
Penny is growing so much from the first time we met her in book 1. She is growing both as a witch and as a PI and also herself. I love how everyone is finding that person for them. Each book Penny solves a mystery while progressing with each spell to become a witch. Her coven/friends are a big help to her both in life and helping with each case. I think her biggest fan and help is Turkey. I love that cat!! I can’t wait to see what Penny gets up to next.

This has been my favorite book so far in the series. The author is inserting more of the magical education Penny and her coven have undergone into day-to-day, everyday life and you can really start to see the growth better that she has made as a person overall. She still had her moments, but the silliness was toned down a bit, which is completely appropriate in my opinion at this stage. The whole story ends with an emotional realization and cliffhanger that has me really wanting the next book to come out!
This whole series has been a joy to read, the characters are growing in magic, personalities and love. As always, I read this straight thru and enjoyed every word. Penny and Turkey are adorable and they are becoming quite the investigative team, if Penny can keep Turkey away from the sardines. lol Someone is Married ! !
