Criminal defense lawyers must make their peace with one harsh fact of life: most of their clients are guilty.
But when William Tucker, a celebrated and self-centered star college football player, is suddenly arrested and charged with the brutal rape and murder of a college coed two years before, his estranged father, Frank Tucker, a drunken, broken-down, beach-bum ex-criminal defense lawyer, … lawyer, cannot believe his son is guilty. No father can. So he must find a way to sober up and save his son from the death penalty sought by an ambitious district attorney. And father and son learn that only three things in life are certain: death, taxes, and a father’s love for his son.

A very enjoyable book — easy read.
Love this author. Very good book. Highly recommend
This is a very good story in which you really don’t know what will happen but hope for the best for the characters you easily become attached to. The story goes at a good pace and keeps you riveted to the end, and the family connections and crises of heart are believable and add much to the story. Highly recommended.
It has been several years since I read this book but I remember it as being a page turner. Gimenez writes excellent legal thrillers and this one is as exciting as the others.
Another great Gimenez novel.
I love all Mark Gimenez writings! Lots of twists and turns…and surprise endings!
Love Mr. Jimenez books, have read every one! cant wait til the next!!
great story teller/author!
Good, easy to read page turner. I didn’t suspect all the little twists the story had.
I really like this author. he puts together a great story
Well told story.
Another Gimenez winner. He knows how to tell a story and keep you in it.
I like the author’s realistic view of what is takes to go from high school, college, and NFL and what can happen along the way. Thanks for a great read!
Really enjoyed this book.
THE CASE AGAINST WILLIAM by Mark Gimenez
One chapter into this book and I knew this author’s writing is in a different league. The dialogue is smart, the plotting practised and his story-telling ability flows with a natural ease.
The book is about William, a football prodigy, senior quarterback for the Texas Longhorns, so there’s an excess of …
Much unnecessary text and prologue.
Great author. Read all his books.
The writing is not the best, but it’s got all the legal thriller elemts, plus good stuff for football fans.
I like good courtroom dramas, which is unusual because I retired from Circuit Court. I love all this authors books and if you enjoy a great story you will not be disappointed.
This is a book about American football and its cultural impact on this country. While the plot is quite intriguing, the real emphasis is on the players, their exploits, foibles and extreme behavior. The main characters are portrayed realistically and judged quite harshly; their physical and mental well being is fully examined and the final picture …
Could be a true story.
