Captain Colt Mitchell is part of the elite Griffin Force team hunting down terrorist Nazer al-Raimi. After an attack on the Canadian Parliament buildings, the team gets good intel on Nazer’s whereabouts. They plan to grab him, but when the mission goes wrong, Colt is captured and dragged away. Bruised, restrained, and disoriented, Colt is stunned to see Brenna Wilson, the Canadian intelligence … officer who broke his heart years ago, standing next to Nazer. But how deep is she in the operation and can she help Colt escape?
After the devastating attack on Canadian soil, Brenna is recruited to go undercover to find out what Nazer is planning next. She’s close to her goal until her former flame Colt Mitchell is taken hostage. Walking away from him has always been her biggest regret and she knows she has to save him, even if it blows her mission. Taking matters into her own hands, she pulls off a daring escape, but Colt and Brenna must learn to trust each other again if they want to stay alive. With their hearts and their lives on the line can they survive long enough to stop Nazer from ravaging another country’s sense of security?

The Captain is one of those books that you don’t want to start too late in the day because you will not want to put it down until you finish. Captain Colt Mitchell is taken hostage by a brutal terrorist, Nazer al-Raimi. Brenna, Colt’s former girlfriend, is undercover in the household where he’s taken to be tortured. I found the main characters likable and their feelings for each other genuine (as much as fictional characters can be.) The plot has twists and turns all the way through. It moves at a good pace–fast enough to keep interest high, but at a good speed to let the reader connect with the characters. The setting starts in Afghanistan and moves to England. I got a copy through KU.
Love the author and series. Now to get more available through book bud, please.
I listened to the audio version of this story. The narration and storyline are so engaging! Julie makes you feel like you are right there with the Griffin Force team!
An exciting short story from the beginning, with plenty of turns and twists. I definitely recommend the series.
** Audiobooks ** This is a fantastic military romance full of action, suspense, & love. Julie Coulter Bellon writes yet another thrilling military romance. Tristan Wright does an AMAZING job narrating this story with many different voices & accents. This story has great characters and if you want to know what happens, you better grab this book. The Captain is book #2 in the Griffin Force series. I highly recommend listening (or reading) the series. I was given a copy of this audiobook for an honest review.
(I listened to this as an audiobook)
Story: 4.5 stars
Well-written, believable (except that Griffin Force is starting to be filled with couples).
Great story where the fight against terrorism continues with drama and a touch of romance.
Narrator: 5 stars
Nice deep voice, but does women’s voices well. Good cadence, expression and accents. I truly enjoy listening to Mr. Wright’s voice acting.

Wow this read grabs you right from the beginning. Its a fast paced edge of your seat read. Thats a real page turner that I could not put down until I finished. The Narrator really brings the different characters out. And the Author has written the scenes so well that you can picture the scenes in you minds eye as you listen. This is definitely a must listen or read.

From the beginning I was on the edge of my seat. Julie Coulter Bellon has an incredible way of pulling you into that world, realistically detailing the gruesomeness and torture of terrorism, but doing it in a way that puts your focus more on the characters and their unique situations than on violent details. The chemistry between Colt and Brenna is magnetic, and watching how they both wrestle with their feelings for one another while dealing with one of the scariest situations anyone could possibly face is mesmerizing.
Well written with an abundance of action, suspense, and the perfect pace, I devoured this novel within hours. Sadly this is something that could actually happen, and most likely does happen, which ran through my mind the entire time I was reading.
A heart pounding read from start to finish that was exciting to devour and was over way too fast, I loved this book!
