Great series! I have read them all and can’t wait for the next thrill ride by Urcelia. What a wonderful series.
This is one of the best books I have read in a very long time! Thank you Urceiia!
Fantastic!
I have always had an avid interest in archeology and books relating to this. The research and thought that has gone into this story is very impressive. The Alex Hunt books have been a thrilling series and this one does not disappoint. The close calls, the moments I found myself holding my breath, and the thrilling ending all left me sitting, as the last page is turned, with a sigh of relief and a smile of excitement! Fantastic story and a great story teller! It’s books like this that make reading a journey and an adventure!
A great action packed book. All of Urcelia’s books are so interesting and informative. I love her books which are not only exciting but an educational journey.
Best archaeological thriller I’ve read lately! The CAIAPHAS CODE: An ALEX HUNT Archaeological Thriller (ALEX HUNT Adventure Thrillers Book 6) by Urcelia Teixeira is so well researched and written that it is hard to believe it is not actually non-fiction! This series just gets better and better!
I was given an ARC by the author and am voluntarily posting an honest review
I could not put this book down! The believable characters, and plot is amazing real. I absolutely loved the historical research and the new take on the New Testament and how it was all brought to life in this fast paced thriller. I cannot wait for the next Book in this series but this one could stand alone too.
I received this book as an
Urcelia Teixeira is one of my favourite authors in the adventure thriller genre. The Caiphas Code started with a bang and thereafter there was no turning back. I was completely enthralled by Alex and Sam’s escapades while delving into the deaths of 2 students who accidentally came into possession of an ancient artifact. This fast paced thriller will have you on the edge of your seat. All these author’s books are worth reading for the high they will give you. Thank you Urcelia.
A very interesting look into old Jerusalem. Think 32 AD and what was happening about then. Jump into present-day Jerusalem. What do two Jewish college students from Australia have to do with an antiquity from that ancient time? Why has one of the two wound up dead? Follow along as Matt Taylor and his crack team with Australian Intelligence (ASIO), with help from a couple of old friends, (You guessed it: Alex Hunt and Dr. Sam Quinn), start a harrowing search for the second Aussie student. Bad guys all around, including the local police. Secret codes to break, scary tunnels to traverse, wild sprints and rides – all the usual for Alex and Sam! You’ll love this one!
Like fine wine, the author’s writing gets better with age! The best Alex and Sam adventure!
Once you start you will not be able to put it down!
I am looking forward to seeing Alex Hunt on the big screen some day!!!
Thanks Urcelia!!!
Move over Dan Brown because Urcelia Teixeira’s “ The Caiaphas Code” is a fantastic read! Follow Alex and Sam on their latest adventure!! She has you spellbound from cover to cover. Writing so well you feel like you are running right beside them as they solve the case!!! Seems the spirit of God was moving with them.
What a ride!!! Spot on page turner!!
Cracking an Ancient Code
The book begins with a story of the planning by high priest Caiaphas to have Jesus captured and killed. A possible motivation is provided in this story.
As the modern day story begins, a pair of Australian tourists in the outskirts of Jerusalem make an accidental find and soon, one is dead and the other is fleeing for his life. Investigators find an image pressed into the dead man’s arm that resembles an ancient scroll which had been stolen. The team of Alex Hunt and Sam Quinn are called in to help solve this archeological mystery. The team finds themselves also dodging killers at every step who seek the prize at the end of their search and to prevent them from cracking the code.
I found this story action filled and very hard to put down. The author is able to skillfully weave New Testament era history into an exciting modern day adventure. This book can read well as a stand alone novel.
I received a free advance reader copy of the book. This is my voluntary, honest review.
Holy cow was this an adrenaline-filled Alex adventure from the get-go!
I think this one was the best story so far and love all the twists of the old biblical themes she incorporated in this book.
Wonderfully put together book and can’t wait to see what’s next !!!
“The Caiaphas Code” already the six adventure of Alex Hunt and Sam Quinn, who have come a long way both in their working partnerships and personal relationship. This time they are asked by their friend and co-worker to come to Jerusalem to look into the disappearance of an Australian tourist after his friend and travel companion turns out dead. The murder hides a much darker conspiracy with ramifications that go all the way back to biblical times.
From the very first chapter set in the year 33 A.D. and relating the role played by Caiaphas (and his seal-rings) on the events that eventually led to the crucifixion on Jesus, the book becomes as page-turner that keeps the reader wondering how the story will develop. Fast forward to today’s Jerusalem where Alex, Sam and Matt are invested into solving the riddle surrounding the attack on the Australian tourist while searching for Caiaphas lost seal ring. The search brings them to Crete (Caiaphas final rest place), dodging close-call assassination attempts while following the clues to solve the crime as the story develops into a thrilling tale of hunger for power, betrayal, hope, and faith, and a veritable page-turner until the very last sentence in the very last page and an extra gift for those of us who enjoy getting the facts behind the fiction, and well as the ones curious enough to know in the form of a extended bibliography.
True to her writing style Urcelia Teixeira interweaves actual historical facts and fast-paced action into one of the top adventure thriller series of the moment. With carefully curated historical data, a very good constructed plot, two of the most interested main characters in the genre – the duo Alex-Sam works perfectly together, fused into a multifaceted über-main-character, completing each other and adding a new layer to the story – and an extraordinary crisp, rapid and fluid writing style Teixeira’s books are a must read for all fans of page-turner adventure thrillers, looking for a intelligent story based in historical facts.
This is one of the best installments in an already amazing series, the plot is highly interesting and, despite dealing with events that are closely linked to the history of Christianity, will appeal to readers of very different philosophical backgrounds. It can also easily be read as a stand-alone, knowledge of Alex & Sam previous adventures put some of the interactions into perspective but is by no means necessary to enjoy the book… and seriously now be warned once you get to meet Alex Hunt and Sam Quinn you would never have enough.
Rating: 4.5 stars
What I thought about this book:
• I LOVED that the plot was based on the High Priest Caiaphas. This topic was interesting and well researched. I was hooked on the story right from the beginning.
• Caiaphas was a High Priest from the New Testament. Because of that fact, there was religiousness to this story with the characters being at different levels of belief. Nothing was preachy or judgemental. Nothing was geared to one denomination. This was excellently done.
• This mystery was fast paced and the author’s writing style puts you right in the middle of the scenery and action. I could imagine myself in historic Israel.
• I was surprised by the ending to this story. It was unexpected and I like surprises.
• It is great that an author is willing to write clean stories these days.
I really enjoyed this adventure! I can’t wait to read another Alex Hunt mystery. If you like to read about archeology, history, mystery, and adventure, you will enjoy this novel.
I received an advance copy of this book. My review was voluntarily given and my opinions were my own.
A story of history at its lowest point. An adventure that is well crafted and
beautifully written. Ms Teixeira never fails to entertain and lighten us. She is a top
notch author in a highly competitive world. Very Highly Recommended
Another Great Adventure with Alex and Sam!
The adventure starts with two English students on holiday in Jerusalem finding an old ring in a field, that they have no idea of its significance and make the deadly mistake of saying something about it to the wrong person.
Alex and Sam have been requested to help with some markings found on the arm of a murdered English student that had been in Jerusalem on holiday.
As they dig into the mystery surrounding their findings on this case the plot thickens. The ring had belonged to the High Priest Caiaphas, and the forces that want the ring for his treasure they think it will lead them to, will murder anyone to obtain it.
The mystery of Caiaphas and his penitent keepsakes, the two souvenirs he had secretly kept, must be decoded for the mystery to solved, in order to catch the killers.
This story has many twists and turns as the mystery unfolds. Enjoy the adventure as you tag along. I think you will really enjoy this book, I know I did!!
This is without a doubt my favorite of all of Urcelia Teixeira’s books so far. The action takes Alex and Sam all the way to Crete and Israel in search of a priceless biblical artifact that could change science’s view of Christianity forever. I have been interested in biblical archaeology for years now, and it was exciting to read about several facts that I already knew–and a few that I did not. I have enjoyed delving into Alex Hunt’s adventures from start to finish, and I am certainly going to miss her!
