Sometimes love happens when you least expect it…
Jenny Romano has never been a white-picket-fence, happily-ever-after girl. Despite a mother who rejected her free-spirited, unique ways as irresponsible and just plain wrong, Jenny has found happiness as a photographer, flitting around the country and snapping photos of other people’s lives. Her older sister, Grace, has a husband, children, and a carpool schedule. She’s the one their mother calls “perfect.”
But when tragedy strikes her sister’s carefully constructed life, Jenny must step in and help. Soon, she’s knee-deep in small-town, suburban life, the kind she’s always avoided…
Psychologist Elliot Drake spends so much time healing other people’s pain that he prefers to keep his own relationships short and uncomplicated. He’s loved and lost once and with a young daughter to raise, he’s not willing to risk his heart again. Of course, he’s never met anyone quite like Jenny. Outrageous and unpredictable, she’s nothing like her well-controlled older sister. And the more he’s around Jenny, the more he wonders if short-term is really what he wants…
Elliot and Jenny are about to discover that real life happens whether you want it to or not. Will they let real love happen, too?

Enjoyed!!
Well done. Loved her detailed feelings!
Nice story.
Very sweet read.
I just absolutely loved, loved, loved this book and didn’t want it to end. Truly fits life in real time. You won’t be disappointed .
This is the first book I’ve read by Mary Campisi and plan to read more by this author. The story is about two sisters that are extremely different. Their lives are transformed when misfortune befalls the older sister and how they deal with loss and adversity. The support the sisters had for each other was inspiring. This is a great read.
Understanding
Grace is a wife and mother. Jenny ius single band travels a lot. But when her sister is in as horrific car accident she drops everything to fly to help take care of her and her nieces. This is a wonderful story of out two sisters find new paths as friends and deal with cheating husbands, overbearing moms and finding new paths.
Lots of twists and turns in this book, but worth the read! The characters were great and the plot line was relatively realistic. I enjoyed reading this book immensely!
Descriptive and poetic writing style that so elequently takes you into the scene and into the characters thoughts, their feelings. The suspenseful plot kept me engaged and wanting more after I’d finished. The pecking order of sisters I found to be intriguing, and these two were so not alike providing witty banter and funny flashbacks to their youth. I would read this one again!
Great book.
For a book that is labeled second chances, I don’t think that part was emphasized. It was more a figure out who you are and be true to yourself story. One that was very enjoyable and interesting. Jenny was such a quirky character that you had to like her even though the author tended to over-explain her. The descriptions of Grace’s cookie cutter neighborhood were so fun to read. A little bit of sex, but otherwise a clean story.
A terrific book. Great characters who are enjoyable to follow as they grow and develop. Truly heartwarming and inspirational.
Easy read,
Great story about life and family.
The story of two sisters who reconnect around a traumatic event.
Well written, the story grabs you, the characters are relatable and the approach to grief, particularly in children, is well done.
Love the connection between the sisters with such different personalities.
Beautiful story of an undisputed truth: uniqueness!
A cheated on widow, with sister to help.
Sister falls for psychologist. Good book.
For a romance, this was an entertaining book with a few love scenes without explicit sex scenes.
Boring
