“As alluring as a floating swan, but as deadly as a silver bullet.”
We get more riddles and more questions! GAH! This book….I truly don’t know how to process what I just read. MIND. BLOWN. I’m not coming up for air with this one, I’m driving right into the deep end and starting book 3. Finally getting some answers, but with those revelations, we’re left with SO MANY MORE questions! An intricate entangled web that’s flawlessly woven together to create a series that is “unputadownable”. Amo is pulling out all the stops with this story with no slowing down in sight. I can NOT wait to see how the next part of this story unfolds.
“Why do you like breaking me?”
He smirks slightly, just enough that I see his dimple on the side of his cheek. “Because it gets my d*ck hard to put you back together.”
His response doesn’t surprise me, not in the slightest. “But,” I add, stepping forward, “you never put me back together properly. You steal parts of me, so when you do put me back, I’m all crooked, cracked, and still visibly broken.”
His smile pauses briefly, not enough for me to really catch any meaning behind it. He turns to face me, his eyes locking onto mine. “Because being broken is how you’re going to survive this life, Madison.”

“Shhhh, Silver, You’re not your own.”…
Author Amo Jones takes us deeper into the world of the Elite Kings Club with book #2, The Broken Puppet. If you thought things were twisted in book one, things get darker and heavier the more we plunge into this series. Madi learns more about herself and where she came from as more of the memories she’s worked so hard to suppress fight their way to the surface.
… “Trust no one. Fear no one. Fuck everyone.”…
As more events unfold and truths arise, Madi is unsure who she can trust beyond herself, and if she can even trust her own mind. She can’t tell friend from foe, or if there’s even a difference in this world.
I absolutely love Amo Jones’s style of writing. This book is an absolute work of art and she EXCELS at her craft. It’s such an intricate web she weaves and I CANNOT wait to get deeper into this series!
Broken Puppet:
Madison finds out at the end of Book 1 (Silver Swan) that she is indeed a Silver Swan. Born into the Elite Kings Club family as a female, which is considered unacceptable. According to TEK tradition, Silver Swans are disposed of, however Madison wasn’t. In a world of head games and riddles, Madison must navigate her way through life among the Elite Kings. They act as if they are protecting her, but are they? They are also the one’s that believe females of the bloodline should be disposed of. Will this generation of Elite Kings keep her safe or will they ultimately destroy her mentally and physically?
This is a dark read, with plenty of mind games. These are high school kids that are raised into their lifestyle from birth and are living and making decisions as adults. They are filthy rich and have very extravagant lifestyles.
I enjoyed the way this book kept you on your toes. You will not figure out the ending until the end. You will have many questions that will leave you hanging until book 3 Tacet A Mortuis. It is worth reading, however I suggest you read them all back-to back. There are MANY characters in this series. I used my Kindle highlight feature for the first time, while reading this book, so I could keep everyone straight. If you like Dark and twisted and definitely not your run-of-the-mill story, then The Elite Kings Series is for you!
The book continued where book 1 left off and I liked that a lot but while Mads and Tatum were on the run, the story seemed to be on a standstill because the entire original story centered on Mads and the Kings and whatnot so I agitatedly awaited the return of the boys.
It was a rather slow progress of the story as there were more riddles and questions but hardly any answers. I liked the book better closer to the end as there was at least some action going on and a deeper insight on Bishop and some of the kings but at the end I felt like I had more questions than after the first book and I seriously hope they will all be answered in the next book.
Some things felt a bit repetitive, like Madison’s thoughts. And I wasn’t fond of her in this book at all. Everybody loved her, even when it was hate love. I got the feeling that she’s more like a queen rather than the silver swan. But what do I know… not much, that’s for sure.
Even now, I’m still completely in the dark regarding the Kings and anything else for that matter which is frustrating but not something that bothered me most. (Somebody please explain to me the real purpose of the Kings because they acted different every few seconds.)
Anyway, I was actually really annoyed that every man (and I mean EVERYONE! except her dad of course) wanted to feel her up and get down and dirty with Mads. They all lusted after her as if she was the only waterhole in the desert, and she acted on every one of them. Sorry if I’m just not down to that. I didn’t mind it so much in the first book but it should stop at some point because she really needs to grow up now and have some dignity.
This book was hard to rate for me because I was blown by the first one though the second book brought only more riddles and not so much a story; it also wasn’t as suspenseful. It was a bit stretchy and Madison still hasn’t read the book but kept asking everyone for answers to her questions when she could’ve just read the book for answers. I’d be reading that damn book and not do anything else until I’ve finished it. But she run around and put herself in danger while she still didn’t know anything.
Sure, we got some more about the Kings, the families and the history but the information we got were just snippets which weren’t really satisfying.
I also wish there was some more dark and hot stuff in this book as it was in the first one so I have high hopes for the next book to be better because I really want to see some more Bishop-action. =) I just really need the next book to give me more of everything and to finally solve those damn riddles.
This was my first Amo Jones book, but it definitely will not be my last!! I loved it!!!!
How do you review something when you don’t know what the fuck you have read?
The more you discover the more questions you have.
There’s so many WTF moments. The surprise elements – there’s a funny scene between Bishop, Madison and Nate which I found absolutely hilarious.
Did anyone else find the bossier Bishop was the more you wanted him, that boy is sexy AF.
Another great read this series is turning out to be amazing.
I want more keep them coming.
“Fear is your patch, babe. We all have our patches. Those little spaces that could bring us to our knees if dabbled with.”
I’m just going to get this out of the way. It took me days to stew over this book and decide what I was going to say and how I would rate it. I’m so glad that I took the time to do that because honestly it became a slow burn that finally brought me to the point I am at now. I’ll explain more about it shortly.
Let’s just take a moment to take in the beauty that is this cover. I’ve been obsessed with it since Amo dropped the cover reveal. It’s dark and a bit haunting and it speaks to my soul. Not sure what that means about me but I’ll go with it.
Before we go any further, if you have not read The Silver Swan, then you need to do that first. This book can not be read first. While I will do the best I can to keep this spoiler free, I’m just throwing it out there that there could a chance of letting something slip.
In The Broken Puppet, we start to get some of the answers that we have been seeking in regards to The Elite Club but with those answers comes on a slew of new questions. I ended this book with more questions than answered because of all the twists and the integrated parts that everyone played.
I will admit that there were some times that I was completely frustrated. I felt like Madison could have gotten some answers a lot faster if she would have just done what a few people kept telling her. However, I also get that by her not doing that, it allowed for more of the suspense that was lurking around.
I get so confused sometimes because for the most part, I don’t even see Bishop and Madison for as young as they are until we get a glimpse of them at school or we start to see a bit of the childish behavior. Most of the time, I felt like Bishop was much older and just has this striking and captivating essence about him. He’s completely dark but we can start to see that Madison is getting to him. I feel like they are so much older until I get those few glimpses that remind me otherwise.
While I felt like there wasn’t as must intensity in this book, it certainly still consumed me. I think the reason I say that is because there is so much time spent answering questions from the first book that it felt a bit more informational than dramatic. DO NOT GET ME WRONG, it was absolutely filled with drama and suspense, it just had a bit different of a tone then the first book. That’s why I ended up with the slow burn and having to take a couple of days to digest it all.
Overall, I loved this book and I love this series. Now we are left waiting to get all the answers to everything that Amo Jones threw at us in the book. I can’t wait to see how it all plays out. You don’t want to miss out on this series, trust me.
So this book, my head right now is seriously messed up.
I can’t stop thinking about Madi and the Kings, like what the hell is even going on here.
I have no clue, I am so confused the broken puppet left me with even more questions than answers.
I loved this instalment but Madison you seriously need to start asking the right questions girl.
And while I’m at it READ THE BOOK MADI !!!!
You’ve got a book with answers and you don’t read it, I’m shaking my head in disbelief here.
This girl, god how long does it take you to read one bloody book.
And breathe, so now I’ve got that little tantrum out of the way I’ll continue.
Despite me wanting to strangle Madi for her sheer stupidy I have to give this the full five stars as I couldn’t put it down,
I read into the night and before I knew it I was at ninety percent and it was getting light outside.
I seriously lost track of time I was so engrossed.
So if your expecting answers here, well just don’t.
The Broken Puppet just throws more disarray into the mix.
seriously this story is doing my head in with its serious lack of clarity.
Though We are drip fed a few tidbits to keep us hanging in there like why Brantley has got serious beef with Madison, didn’t see that one.
The Broken Puppet is action-packed and I’m seriously loving the new dynamic that is developing between Madi and Bishop.
And that finale, I’m not even sure what occurred there it was so obscure in its intentions.
But I’m hooked and intrigued and I will be waiting impatiently for some clarification.
So disregarding how much this did my head in I am now gagging for the next book.
I really need and want it like now.
I was provided with a review copy of “The Broken Puppet (Elite King’s Club, #2) ” By the author of which I have reviewed voluntary.
All opinions expressed are entirely my own.
** spoiler alert **
I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this book yesterday. I read it at all last night. It is just amazing.
I loved it, what I hate is waiting for the next book. I hate waiting. A bunch of new info comes out but not as much as I would have hoped but I didn’t think of that until I was done reading. I just wanted more. I didnt get why Madison didn’t just sit down and the read the book. Stop doing other stuff and read the book girl it could save your life. She keeps asking people for answers and they say read the book so she should just read the book. The book moves at a quick pace it didn’t drag and was easy to read. I love how Madison and Bishop interact with each other. The book has 22 chapters so its a tad shorter than The Silver Swan (book 1 in this series). Pay attention to this things that Bishop says to her especially about the Kings. This book had me yelling and screaming and my mind was blown away. I almost threw my kindle and my sons were like who are you talking to. All I can say is READ THIS BOOK!
Haunting and dark, reaching to the depths of what is right and wrong, the story of the Silver Swan is continued. Layers of one of the most diabolical story lines I have probably ever read are revealed, but you still don’t have the full story, which is what kept me glued from start to finish. Twisted, but unbelievably one-upping the first in it’s limit pushing events. This series is almost otherworldly, the truth just waiting from your grasp, and maniacally crafted for maximum entertainment. Will we ever really know? Why I will salivate for the next book and be hungover for days from this one!! I thank the Author for providing a copy to review!!

All I can say is WOW! 5* just do not do justice to this book! This book is yet another mind trip! Amo Jones is fast becoming one of my favourite authors with her twisted mind and a penchant for keeping you hanging. I am still no closer to working out the direction this story is going in. It is as far from unpredictable as you can get. It has been a while since I have read a book that’s keeps you guessing throughout. I don’t even know how to review this book!
Told from a dual POV, the book is fast paced with secrets, revelations aplenty. My head feels like it is exploding. Some questions were answered, but in answering those a million more were raised. Kudos to the author because I couldn’t even begin to imagine where she gets her ideas or how she plots a book this twisted. I just love the power the Kings exude, it’s palpable, it’s everywhere, consuming. The connection between Bishop & Maddie is electric
I feel I would benefit from reading this duet again before the final book comes out as the story is so intricately woven I know I have missed several key pieces to the puzzle along the way. This book finishes on an almighty cliff hanger. Amo, you are not my favourite person right now!
If you haven’t read this duet, read it! If you haven’t read any Amo Jones books; what are you waiting for. If you love, dark, twisted and books that mess with your head. You’re looking at the Queen
***5 ‘Trust No One. Fear No One. Fuck Everyone’ Stars***
While the mind fuck is still in full effect (Anyone surprised?? No, didn’t think so.) I have to say that this one was a little more…even keel for me. I know that sounds strange considering everything, but things seemed to not be so damn erratic, or at least Madison didn’t feel that way to me, for most of the book. There are still a shit ton of secrets and things left unsaid, as well as more mysterious stuff going on, but I dug it. It kept me turning the pages instead of wanting to toss my Kindle in the freezer.
As for the characters. I’m still in that weird zone with all of them where they fascinate me more than anything else. Madison is sitting on a 70/30 split of liking and not not liking (I know, just go with it) Bishop he’s all kinds of Beastie still, and always will be if I’m honest, but I’m starting to dig him. But Nate has jumped up in my estimations of him, still gots issues, but I’m good. And Tatum, it’s hard not to like her. She may be the one person thus far that I can say I like, but then again she’s on the outskirts of everything.
There is still all kinds of dark, dirty and smexy going on and more questions than answers but I’m okay with that, especially with the new things that have been brought out into the open about this crazy world. Though these new details have brought about more questions, the also make things more interesting and I cannot wait to see what chaos the new developments at the end of this book will bring about in Tacet a Mortuis!

Really loving this series,
I love this cover so much.. loving the story line can’t wait for the next book
Amo Jones has done it again. This book was everything I hoped it would be and more (if that’s even possible).
If you’re going into this expecting to get all the answers to what I’m assuming is a pretty long list of questions, then you’re going to be disappointed. You do get answers but like you’d expect with this series, you somehow end up with even more questions.
This series is full of drama, distrust, suspense and intrigue. Its complex story feeds you little bits of information at a time, leaving you the clues to try and put it all together. There’s an air of darkness to this story that I adored, I’m never quite sure who to trust. Is anyone who they seem to be?
The Kings are all very intriguing but I hold my hand up and admit I’m madly in love with Bishop. That man can do no wrong in my eyes. He’s unbelievably hot. He’s got this dark, mysterious vibe to him and there’s something about him that really intrigues me. He’s just so deliciously alpha and secretive that I can’t help liking him.
Madison, I loved in Silver Swan and I loved her even more in this book. I find her very easy to relate to (probably because she was as clueless as I was as to what was happening some of the time). I’m #TeamMadi all the way. I need her to kick a** (don’t know whose a** she’s kicking but that’s what I want to see) and get the answers to this riddle of a series.
Madisons step brother Nate is definitely another one of my favourite characters. He brings so much more to the story and I can’t wait to get more from him.
I’m a massive fan of this author and this is by far my favourite series. The complexity of not only the story but also the characters met every one of my expectations. There’s twists and turns galore, surprises that no one’s going to see coming and all those hot men to lust over… Seriously what more could a girl want?
In this story we get more in depth and more answers to the questions that we had from the previous story. I loved getting more into the dark story and more into the Elite stories. I do need more and I will have to wait. I was a little unsure about this story at first as it started out so soft and calm after the cliffhanger from The Silver Swan, but that did not last long and I was again thrown into the dark world of The Elite. There were a few things that frustrated me: Kitty needs to read “The Book” faster, she needs to listen and trust Bishop and Nate a little more, and I need more information about the final goal.
1 day is all it took to read this story from the start to the every last word, I was hooked and I don’t say that lightly this dark love story is just that Dark and very mysterious, enough to keep you wanting more and turning the pages over and over again. I loved every word on the pages. Amo really blew my mind with this story all the events, by the end I was completely mind F**ked and I liked it. Hell Bishop got hotter in this story and a little softer showed a completely different side to him. I really liked this story all around and recommend it for anyone to read of course after the silver swan that is. This easy to read story will have you on the edge of your chair with tears rolling down your face at some points, while at others you want to scream and the main characters and when all else fails you cont. to read the story because it’s that good. I have never read a story like this one I loved how it picked up right where Silver Swan ended. I also loved the fact that the characters never changed at all in a way they grew and became better they all became the story not just Madison and Bishop. With enough action, romance, love, hate and much more going on just about every page you can’t help but love this story even more. I was confused at some points in the story but it really just went right along with all the mind games the author had you going on. Right down to the small details had your mind going over and over everything a million times. Worth it every time. MUST READ!!!
***I received this ARC for free in exchange for my honest thoughts, I was in no way told what to write***
