This series is something else altogether!
Everything around you will become meaningless, and nothing else aside reading this book won’t be more important to you anymore!
Lord the twists and turns
The Secrets
The Darkness
That Damn Book!!!
OMG I need answers to my questions!!!!
Now onto book 3!!!!
“As alluring as a floating swan, but as deadly as a silver bullet.”
It was ruffianly, I was so excited and I was affraid while my blood heated.
Amo Jones has created a great deal again. Unfortunately The Broken Puppet was just the second book which I have read from her, nevertheless not the last. Although I have given answers to my questions during reading it but more questions have come up in my mind while I was making it to the end of this story. Unhappily I have to wait until the next part to give my answers.
The act doesn’t let the reader’s attention fall down for a minute, we allow unobtrusively it into the most latent parts of our brain where there is always one question: What will happen now?
You just have to read it all!
Madison is a really brave girl so she tends to behave rashly. Regardeless of this, I appreciate her because she doesn’t wait to another save her neck. Bishop has frozen our heart or burned it with all-burning flames. Meanwhile, his thick ice armor has began to melt thus we can gain a glimpse of a piece of his soul what is awesome and wonderful at the same time.
We get lot of past memories and some small details of the Book what I’am really waiting for and I’am horribly curious about it.
Nevertheless, do you know what is the most exciting part of this book? THE END!
Consequently, if you like the awesome, mysterious and enduring passionating stories you should pick up this book and I promise you will be not able to put it down until the end.
This book was just as awesome as the first one! I was eating it up so fast because I couldn’t put it down and not know what came next! The twists and turns are crazy! I don’t know which was is up anymore!
Trust no one, fear no one, fuck everyone. ~ Madison
This is the fast paced, edge of your seat read, second book in the Elite Kings series…..and it will make you breathless.
So much happens.
Questions are answered.
But a lot more are posed.
And it will twist your head!
I love a book that the next morning still has you questioning the events you read the evening before. And this book does that.
I knew there was a book 3, I knew it (as the author said) but what I didn’t expect was wanting to throttle the author at the end of this book!
For those that loved The Silver Swan…READ THIS!
For those that haven’t read The Silver Swan….READ IT!
Wow! I don’t know what to think. More questions were answered but then more pop up and now characters are back?!?! Wtf do I do with that??? Amo Jones! Straight for the naughty corner for you while I rock myself back and forth in the dark. I love this series!
What an insane follow up to The Silver Swan!
The Broken Puppet picks up right where we left off in The Silver Swan, giving us the answers to our unanswered questions while giving us EVEN MORE questions at the same time. Amo’s mind is absolutely insane. I flew through this one, addicted to the story and craving more and more. The Broken Puppet was somehow even darker than The Silver Swan, and I freaking loved it! Madison was honestly such a badass, but sometimes I wanted to punch her in the face for NOT READING THE DAMN BOOK! STOP WASTING TIME AND JUST READ THE BOOK! The ending literally made my JAW DROP and I had to go back and reread it because I was like, WHAT?!
Best. Cliffhanger. Ever.
Again WTF…Now that I have read several Amo Jones books I believe she likes to leave us with endings that make us completely floored or pissed the f*ck off. Right now, I am feeling both.
There is not much I can think to say about this book without giving too much away. When you read the blurbs for these books you don’t really know entirely what is going to happen, all you know is that it makes you curious enough to read it. From the first chapter of book one I have completely sucked into the Elite Kings Club. Once you are in, you are in and there is no escaping. Enjoy the ride of WTF’s, OMG’s and HUH’s.
The only thing I will say is BRANTLEY!!
I’m so weak. I still have less than like a 10% idea of what the heck is going on, but the Kings have me by the neck and I am living for all the plot twists. Do I think I’m going to get answers in book 3? No. Will I read it? Of course I will. I’m weak, not stupid.

STORY:
I admire the way the author writes, but my issue was the story. It’s like being on a treadmill where I am jogging in place and not moving. For me, I didn’t feel like the story elevated from book one. It is still secrets and I can’t tell you just trust me statements being repeated. The mystery of this storyline was appealing in book one but book two to me is like a replica of book one.
Bishop is still the same Stoic character and I like his appeal. I enjoyed Maddie in book one but again, her actions became the same to me.
CHEMISTRY:
Never had a problem with them physically, still like them together sexually.
SECONDARY CHARACTERS:
A lot of characters that added to the story, but I didn’t see any elevation.
OVERALL, I don’t feel like this one was for me. I think if this was done as one book with no cliffhangers I would really enjoy this. It’s just becoming dragged out, and I found myself loosing interest.
TRIGGERS: Violence, killing, guns etc..
****I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read. I based my book reviews on my preferences and what I like, and while these preferences may not be the same for others, I hope this review was still helpful.
The Broken Puppet The Elite Kings Club Book 2
@thatcrazykiwiauthor
Amazing continuation of Madison’s story. There are so many twists and unexpected turns. Every time I think I know where the story is headed, something else unpredictable happens.
I’m still digging Bishop. He’s one fine specimen. He’s dark, dangerous, mean, and totally toxic…but exactly what we crave in a book boyfriend, right?
We are left with a major cliffhanger. I still have so many questions about the Kings, the Lost Boys, and the Silver Swan!
**There is quite a bit of difficult content related to sexual child abuse and violence.
The Broken Puppet by Amo Jones was darker, grittier and a lot more intense than the first book in the series.
Madison’s past is explored more in this book, and it is unexpected but incredibly dark. We see more into the vulnerability of her character, but we also see her fight like hell. She’s not perfect, but she’s a fighter.
The steam… Hot as ever! Even hotter than the first book. We get to see more action in numbers of many kinds. Damn! Those boys are insatiable.
This book again is dark and intense and features some sensitive themes that may not be suitable for everyone.
Bishop is… Wow! I’m in love with him. Not as much as Brantley (Damn is he hot!) But I love his loyalty and strength. And when he’s in alpha mode, Wowza! So hot!
And as for that plot twist… WOWZA! I did not see it coming. My heart did not see it coming, and my tears did not see it coming at all. It was so twisted that I couldn’t comprehend it, but the fight the characters had spurred me on.
I am beginning to fall hard for this series, and if the rest of this series is as intense as this book, then I’m up for one helluva rollercoaster. An absolute must-read!
Fucking hell. This series gets better and better with every book. No matter how many answers we get, we have a hundred more questions. I’m getting crazy. When we think we’re finally figuring things out, we notice that we’ve only scratched the surface. It’s maddening. But so fucking addictive.
Bishop, well…He’s no Prince Charming, they aren’t white knights and this is no fairytale. They are the devils and this is a fucked up story about a group of fucked up people that kill and hurt just because they can, and Madi is right in the centre of their wicked game.
He brings the dark side in her, her demons recognise his, and that’s why they are so destructive but hypnotic together. Darkness attracts darkness. And we’re discovering that Madi has a lot of it too.
My mind is still spinning from the information overload we got from this book, but I still need more.
The life Madi knew as her own has completely changed, will she break? Or is she embracing the darkness and use it to fight? I can’t fucking wait to find out
Sheesh. That ending. I feel like I’m just dangling over a shark tank, and one false move could change everything.
More has been revealed, but not enough for it to make too much of a difference. There’s still much to learn. The Madship dynamic is starting to be fleshed out a little more, and we’re finding out more about the Swan and the Kings.

Just when you thought you knew what was going on.
Here comes Amo throwing curve balls. The mystery keeps unfolding and revealing more at the same time. This series just keeps you guessing and strings you along because you just don’t need to known you HAVE to know. Nothing I have to say hasn’t been said before. Check it out if you like a damsel in distress, a raunchy alpha and a crazy mystery thrown in to keep you guessing. Bye now. Gotta read the next one.
The Broken Puppet picked up right where we left off in The Silver Swan, Madison running from her family, Bishop…pretty much from life as she knows it in the Hamptons, and who could blame her with all that unfolded. Tatum was a rockstar of a friend when she told her she was coming with her. I know this seems over the top, but these are teenage girls who pretty much run on hormones and angst. If you add in the fact that these are rich teenage girls and running away doesn’t mean running to the town anymore, it means skipping continents.
So many questions that were there at the beginning of this book were slowly unfolded, but sprouted many more new questions as we uncovered so many WTF moments. I feel like they were in a rush while reading this book, but sorta just spun their tires because they are still in the same place, but with so many more questions and problems.
It seems that Madison has unwillingly given her heart to a King that holds his just out of her grasp where it’s there for her to see…just never to reach.
This book ended with me super frustrated at the lies by omission, and the fact that she may have the biggest betrayal to face yet…excepted won’t know if it was or wasn’t because the cliffhanger ending was more more steeper at the end of this book. Tacet a Mortuis, here I come!
Rating:
Dark and mysterious!
The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance:
Heat/Steam:
Story/Plot:
World building:
Character development:
The setting: New Zealand, England, The Hamptons, New York
The Hero(s): Bishop Vincent Hayes – The leader of the Elite Kings Club. He is dark and dangerous but has a connection with Madison that can’t be denied. He doesn’t call it love, but it seems mighty close. He is aware that whatever it is he feels for her, she is his “patch” (weakness).
The heroine: Madison Montgomery (a.k.a. The Silver Swan) – she ran from Bishop, her father and the Kings, but they caught up with her. She has feelings for Bishop but is aware he will never love her. She also loves her step-brother Nate, but is not in love with him. She is still searching for answers to how she fits in with the Kings and what they are all about
The Love Story: Bishop and Madison have a connection. Though strange things happen in this book. She kisses more than just bishop which confused me to no end.
Madison has this book which details the origins of the Elite Kings Club. However, as much as she says she wants all the answers, she reads it a chapter at a time and it is taking months and months to read the entire thing. This is good for how a book plot works, increasing our knowledge slowly to add to the suspense and intrigue but it isn’t very realistic. Madison knows that these guys have killed, she doesn’t trust any of them so why wouldn’t she just read the entire book in one sitting to find her answers? It makes no sense to me.
Despite that, I did love the story. I loved the chemistry between Madison and Bishop. I loved that he seemed obsessed with her and keeps tracking her down wherever she goes. Nate was an especially great supporting player, I just adore him, though I know he will be more of a bad boy in his own book and I can’t wait to read more about him. Brantley is also fascinating. I am not sure why he has so much animosity toward Madison, but he is a bit cra-cra scary and his books should be smokin’! I will be getting the ARC of the first one of his books (Sancte Diaboli) soon, so I can’t wait!
This book was so crazy though. It was definitely good and I am loving this dark and twisty story. Though I must say finding out a bit at a time like this is driving me crazy. I can see why it is driving Madison crazy as well. I just want her to get on with that Whispers from the Dead “Tacit a Mortuis” book and find out exactly what is going on. It seems it will come in the next book which is aptly named Tacit a Mortuis. I for one probably won’t be going to sleep tonight.
I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.
Broken Puppet by Amo Jones. Everyone who knows me, knows that Amo Jone is my Queen and I am obsessed with her dark fetishes, crazy dreams and psycho heros. I’m the first to devour her words, to inhale her art and just love the crap outta her. But I gotta keep things real. I had a hard time with this book. Mostly because the buildup to this was just so high and intense, I felt a little bit disappointed. When I started it, I literally almost DNF. I had to force myself to keep reading because I felt like there’s no way I could do my girl like that. And it showed promise.
The beginning was just slow for me and began to pick up about 40% through. What disappointed me was that this book was predictable. In my opinion, it was tamer than her usual stuff and that’s what I wanted. Not that I didn’t appreciate the heck out of it, but when you read as many books as I do, you get used to a certain level of ‘f-d up’ and this one just didn’t do it. I was expecting a lot more twists, a lot more carnage and maybe a little bit more heat between the characters, but I didn’t get it.
Despite the minor doings mentioned above, they in no way affect the authors writing or seek to diminish all her hard work, but are things experienced by myself and what I thought. Given that, Amo Jones did deliver in some areas and I loved it. Her writing is phenomenal and the content was extreme, credit to her dark mind. Her characters grew more, I think, in this book and we learn alot more about each of them as well. I also loved the introduction of new characters who gave the book a bit more suspense and mystery. I look forward to the next book and how the series continues to progress. I’m interested in how she’s going to end this, but knowing her, she’ll make us go through a lot of obstacles before she’ll be satisfied enough to give us a HEA.
Other than that, Amo Jones, I love the crap outta you and your work. Keep doing you, boo. This is an edge-of-your-seat read that will have you biting on your nails and tearing your hair out. Get your copy now!
I’m loving this series! So many lies and abuse. I can’t wait to finish this series!
Questions answered just as so many more questions arise! The Broken Puppet picks up right where The Silver Swan leaves off. This book is filled with all the twists and turns of the first book and I am so invested in the Kings! Madison and Bishop are toxic and hot as a couple and I’m ready to dive into book 3 to see what happens next!
