Ava Hartstock never got over her best friend Adam leaving right after high school without a word but she’s learned to be happy in her home town with her flower shop. And business is finally picking up with a big wedding job… until her client walks in with the last man she ever expected or wanted to see again.
With his best friend getting married Adam Brandt can’t stay away from Hidden Hollows any longer. But when he runs into Ava again he doesn’t get the welcome he had hoped for. Adam now must try to repair the damage done when he left eighteen years ago, but there is more to his story than he ever told anyone. Will Ava be able to forgive him?
There was just one problem for me. It may be this author’s style to write totally clean books but typically one would expect at least a little bit of romance in a ROMANCE novel! I also felt the book ended too abruptly as well.
I received an ARC and voluntarily offer this review.
Finished the book in one sitting, felt it was too short.
But it was a nice and sweet story of second chances.
I always wanted my own flower shop, so it was nice to live vicariously through Ava.
Angst
Drama
Second Guessing
Emotional Tug of War
As Adam said: there’s a very small line between love and hate. Adam messed up … big time. Yes, he had his reasons but that didn’t excuse his eight year abandonment of the girl he left behind. That does’t excuse his silence, back then nor now.
He’s back now, but that girl, she’s not so eager to see, talk or even think about him. Ava was hurt badly when he stood her up and left town without uttering a single word. He broke her back then and for her emotional survival, she had to put up walls. Strong walls. Walls that kept the very thought of Adam Brandt out of sight, out of mind.
Those walls need to come down but it won’t be easy. Its obvious Adam wants to restore things with Ava. But, it won’t be easy. The road to redemption never is. So, sit back, relax with a good cup of Earl Grey and enjoy the winding and somewhat rocky path that leads to forgiveness.

Natasha Queen nails it! This was a great, sweet, clean read. I love the 2nd 1st chance loves. Definitely worth the couple hours to read.
A very well-written second chance at romance story tells of man who comes home and realizes the friend he left behind is the woman he wants. She was heartbroken when he left suddenly and is unwilling to let him hurt her again, These wonderful characters show a realistic view on second chances with fears of pain and a chance of HEA. This is a good sweet read

Okay read
The Brides of Pecan Grove is the first book I have read by Natasha Queen so I was not sure what to expect. Add to that the fact that this is the debut book published by this author so you can never be to sure what you will be reading. But the book’s description intrigued me and I figured I would pick it up and give it a try. After all it is wonderful if you can find that “new to you” author that you are able to add to your must read author list. So I had some hope when opened this book up on the Kindle and started swiping through the pages. What I found was an interesting story-line but it soon devolved into to much manufactured angst and drama, especially when the H and h are supposed to be adults. It was supposed to be a sweet second chance romance story which to some extent it was. But to me it just did not finish with the promise that it had at the beginning.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
A Heart Breaking Ex and a Small Town Girl
Adam is back in town for his friends wedding. Ava is the florist for his friend’s wedding since the bride is still out of town.
Adam and Ava still cannot seem to get together and let the past go. She’s avoiding him and he’s irritating her. However, he as a member of the upcoming wedding party, and she, as the florist doing the floral arrangement for that party, just keep running into each other.
Will they settle their differences? Will they overcome the unexplained past?
A stand alone story. Read to find out what happens.
Really enjoyed this book with its second chance at love theme. High school friends abruptly separated at graduation find themselves together for a friend’s wedding. Ava is the local hometown florist and Adam is the groom’s friend and best man. Working together on the wedding is painful for Ava, but she joyously accepts the job. A happy ending ensues, and the story leaves us with several other characters that I hope we will find in future segments in Pecan Grove!
Second chance romance reads are always fun and this one is no exception. Adam and Ava’s story is sweet, funny, loving and a bit quirky at times. The characters are fun to get to know as you read through the story and are definitely entertaining.

Ava and Adam were always friends. She was ready to take it up a notch, but he left town and broke her heart. She has a new florist shop, business is looking up, and she tells herself that she’s over him. Until he walks back into her life. Marcus asks her to do the flowers for his wedding, and Adam is right there as his best friend. They forge a temporary truce to be able to make Marcus and Minnie’s wedding something special. And then he worms his way right back into her heart. This was a really nice story, with interesting characters, especially Ava’s best friend Katie. Short book, and an nice read for an afternoon.

Ava swore off men when Adam roared out of town on his motorcycle and left her heartbroken. After finishing college, she returned to Pecan Grove and opened The Tilted Tulip where she created floral designs for the town’s residents. All was going smoothly until Adam walked through her doors with his best friend who was getting married and needed a florist. When the groom accepted her price of double what she would have charged anyone else, she couldn’t refuse to take the job. How was she going to survive being around the man she would always love?
This was a delightful evening’s reading. The characters were delightful and believable. I received this book from the author and the review is strictly my own opinion.
