From the USA Today bestselling author of The Kiss Quotient comes a romantic novel about love that crosses international borders and all boundaries of the heart…Khai Diep has no feelings. Well, he feels irritation when people move his things or contentment when ledgers balance down to the penny, but not big, important emotions—like grief. And love. He thinks he’s defective. His family knows … defective. His family knows better—that his autism means he just processes emotions differently. When he steadfastly avoids relationships, his mother takes matters into her own hands and returns to Vietnam to find him the perfect bride.
As a mixed-race girl living in the slums of Ho Chi Minh City, Esme Tran has always felt out of place. When the opportunity arises to come to America and meet a potential husband, she can’t turn it down, thinking this could be the break her family needs. Seducing Khai, however, doesn’t go as planned. Esme’s lessons in love seem to be working…but only on herself. She’s hopelessly smitten with a man who’s convinced he can never return her affection.
With Esme’s time in the United States dwindling, Khai is forced to understand he’s been wrong all along. And there’s more than one way to love.

I stayed up all night reading this one . Love , love , love this book. She may be my new favorite author !
I ugly cried through this book, laughed so hard I darn near wet myself and made my husband very, very concerned about my mental health.
The Bride Test is an amazing contemporary romance with an autistic hero who you just love, a Vietnamese heroine who proves that you don’t need a man to make something of yourself (but you can also make something of yourself and have a man) and some very steamy sex!
Also, the side characters are everything. I love Khai’s brother and would marry him if he were real and my husband were not. And the mama! Hooey! I love her.
The best part about this book is how much of the author and her family’s story you can sense in it. It is authentic in the best way possible and I don’t think I will ever get over this book.
Definitely not a quick read, but I devoured it in about six hours while sitting next to my husband. And yes, I had a book hangover the next morning.
I did not like this book. Gross.
What a delightful story! Being mildly autistic myself, I completely understand the hero. Esme Did a fine job of coming to grips with her situation and treading carefully the minefield leading to a happy ending.
A delight, through and through.
Kind of fluffy and predictable
Very different from most romances with a storyline featuring immigrant brides and autism but an enjoyable read.
I loved this book!
I don’t normally read books of this genre, but I have to say I really enjoyed it. The characters are likable & the story moves along at a nice pace. It was refreshing to read a book that told a story and ended with that story told. No cliff-hangers, no moralizing, no outrageous and improbable twists. Any romance in the story fit the story and it wasn’t “mushy” as so many stories that involve love become. I really liked this book.
OUTSTANDING read from first page to the last. I absolutely loved the twists and turns and it didn’t have a happy ending so much as it had a deliciously wonderful ending where the characters discover more about themselves than anyone else had ever expected.
Be nice to yourself and treat yourself to an excellently written and well edited book. You won’t regret it.
Really enjoyed this book! Funny and sweet!
This book was very different than any other romance I have read. I enjoyed learning a little about another culture.
heartwarming!
Gives you a glimpse of hard working Vietnam immigrants and their desire to succeed in life. All they have is brains and motivation, but that’s enough to give them a bright future in their new country, America.
The writing was excellent and the author really made me feel the problems of the young Vietnamese girl and her American counterparts. I did not enjoy, in fact I skipped the gritty details of their sexual relations, and quickly finished the rest of the book.
I loved this story! So many interesting characters that all participated in this enlightening story of love and life
Great Story couldn’t put it down. It had it’s funny moments as well as sad. but had a Great ending.
This writer is special, in subject matter and execution. As someone familiar with some aspects of this story, I love the consistent ‘ring of truth’ in her telling of this story…a wonderful reading experience.
Interesting peeks into elements of Vietnamese experience, as well as the aspergers experience.
Nice read. Light and fun. Not a book to re read.
