From the USA Today bestselling author of The Kiss Quotient comes a romantic novel about love that crosses international borders and all boundaries of the heart…Khai Diep has no feelings. Well, he feels irritation when people move his things or contentment when ledgers balance down to the penny, but not big, important emotions—like grief. And love. He thinks he’s defective. His family knows … defective. His family knows better—that his autism means he just processes emotions differently. When he steadfastly avoids relationships, his mother takes matters into her own hands and returns to Vietnam to find him the perfect bride.
As a mixed-race girl living in the slums of Ho Chi Minh City, Esme Tran has always felt out of place. When the opportunity arises to come to America and meet a potential husband, she can’t turn it down, thinking this could be the break her family needs. Seducing Khai, however, doesn’t go as planned. Esme’s lessons in love seem to be working…but only on herself. She’s hopelessly smitten with a man who’s convinced he can never return her affection.
With Esme’s time in the United States dwindling, Khai is forced to understand he’s been wrong all along. And there’s more than one way to love.

Helen Hoang is a fresh voice in the Women’s Fiction category! After reading her stellar debut, The Kiss Quotient, I was anxious to see if her sophmore novel would live up to expectations, and The Bride Test far exceeded them!!
This book is far more than 5 stars!! Helen Hoang gives readers insight into the world of Autism – and what it is realistically like to live as an autistic adult. As she did in the Kiss Quotient, she makes you fall in love with her leading characters – they aren’t perfect, they are flawed – which makes them easier to connect to.
I won’t recap the book, the jacket can do that for you – I’ll just tell you this novel is real, funny, sexy, sad, and filled with love. At the end of the day, it is a love story between two highly different people, but are they really all that different?
Pre-order this now, you will thank me!
Congrats Helen Hoang! I can’t wait to see what else you put out into the world!
I received an ARC of The Bride Test from the publishers in exhange for an honest review. All opinions are my own!
