Memphis had waited his entire immortal life for his mate. The one woman he could love and cherish, unrestrained by time or regulation. What he got, however, was a mate who did not wish for love. She scorned the thought of it, burning his hopes with her cold disdain for all that life had handed her. Faith Dunaway wished only for death. For Faith, being taken away to the Breed was not a rescue … rescue mission. She had simply been moved from one prison to another. After years of torture and abuse, there was nothing left of her; She was too broken to be saved. She didn’t care about the war around her, didn’t want to know what the Hunters’ experiments had truly done to her- And above all else, she refused to belong to another man.
The greatest challenge Memphis would ever face, would be to keep his faith, and convince his mate to love not only him, but more importantly, to love herself.
This is the THIRD book in an ongoing series.

Memphis’ story is a one I think everyone, including me, has been waiting for. I wanted to know his past, what drove him to become what he did, where his mind and heart stood regarding Faith. He’s always been such a larger than life character, and we got to see his human side in this story. We watched the disappointment and how much his heart hurt as he was rejected over and over by Faith, but the determination was heartening.
And poor Faith had been through so much that her body and soul were wilting in front of everyone and breaking Memphis to the quick. It was difficult to watch how hard he worked to get through to her, but her story was as emotional as any could be in her situation. Yet, to be the voyeurs observing this love story unfold was an amazing experience. It gives me hope and and has me scared at the same times.
And the author doesn’t shirk on her secondary characters. They are just as invested in not only the love stories they watch going on around them but the mission they all know is ahead. These characters are so vivid and full of angst and strength and pure guts that I can’t wait to see where she takes them next.
Just when I think I’ve got everything pegged, this author turns everything on its head. Everything is tied together, but it all comes to such a huge climax that it left me breathless. The cliffhanger is epic only makes me want more. I am stoked for the next book.
This is an excellent third instalment in the Breed series. I have always loved Memphis’s character and was very excited to read his story. I was not disappointed with how it turned out. If you liked the first two, I predict you will like this one.
Memphis is one of the oldest members of the group. He has been alive for hundreds of years and turned Nora into the werewolf she is today. He takes great pride in how she has lived and what she has become. But why she had to change has always hunted him, and is one of the reasons he feels he does not deserve a mate. So when he sees Faith for the first time (in the last book) he knows he has finally found her. But Faith is haunted by her past which has not been long. She is human or was, as she has now been experimented on and nobody knows what she might turn into.
I loved Faith. She is very quiet and into herself but when she finally takes to everyone and comes out of her shell she is a great character. The little girl who renames herself Rain is a beautiful child. She turns into a sweet and not so sensitive child. I can not wait to see what the future holds for her.
Memphis’ Faith turns into a beautiful book with some great action and more information on the Hunters.
Look, this is the third book and it covers some sensitive stuff. The author could be forgiven for stumbling a little through the connections and storylines or maybe even glossing over some of the things that might trigger certain people. I’m telling you that forgiveness is not necessary. This book, though written with total respect in regards to the issues at hand, is a brave spark grabbing your attention and holding you mesmerized. I NEED the next book. I need it now! However, for this level of craftmanship, I am willing to wait. Meanwhile, I will content myself with rereading the first 3 books.
Join me, folks. This is a different spin on PNR that will leave you dizzy and panting for more!
