Ever since Lindsay Castillo was a little girl, she dreamed about living in Port City. As an adult, she learns the difficult lesson that dreams aren’t always what they’re cracked up to be. With a broken heart, an apartment full of boxes and a moving company booked, Lindsay jots down everything she wants to do before she leaves Port City and heads back home to start over. She has a month to mark … to mark off everything on The Breakup Bucket List.
Evan Roberts is doing his best to live up to the high expectations that come along with having his last name. As Port City royalty, he’s been following a strict path to success since the day he was born. He’s looking for a little fun—something to shake up the monotony of his life—when he runs into Lindsay. He’s captivated by her and welcomes the challenge of helping her complete her bucket list.
It doesn’t take much convincing for Lindsay to agree; there are some things she wants to do before she moves that only someone with Evan’s access can help her with. What starts off as a simple partnership grows into more as Lindsay and Evan race against the clock and Lindsay’s moving day draws closer…

This book was so cute and sweet. I loved very minute of it. Can’t wait to read Macy’s book.
So many stories suffer from overly contrived plots and implausible scenarios. Cassie Cross’s Breakup Bucket List is not one of those stories.
While moving to Port City was her dream, a failed relationship and lack of friends had Lindsay giving up and moving back home. Before leaving town she was determined to see all of the things she’d dreamed of but had yet to do. Lindsay meets Evan as she is fulfilling an item on her bucket list. With Evan’s help Lindsay begins to see the possibilities not just in Port City, but in herself. The Breakup Bucket List is a sweet, romantic novella with a happily ever after ending.

This is a very fun and quick read. The storyline captured my attention from the start and I was engaged all the way through. The bucket list idea was adorable and Lindsay and Evan made a really cute pair. They had such great chemistry. They were such endearing characters, you can’t help but fall in love with them. My only complaint is that it wasn’t longer. I would’ve loved to spend more time with them! If you’re looking for a feel-good, fun book, look no further and pick this one up right away!

Loved It!
Oh, my gosh! What a darling novella! My only complaint is that I wish it were a full novel as I so enjoyed the characters and the romance. I wanted more of them! I wish all novellas were as well written as this one! Even though it is super short, the author did not succumb to the fatal blow of the dreaded information dump. In fact, the story starts out somewhat cryptically, and we don’t know why the heroine is doing what she is doing. The beginning actually sounds somewhat like a female-driven spy novel before it takes a swerve into romance. I love that the author has made this a time-limited romance—the heroine has the movers booked 30 days out—as that adds to the romantic tension. Even though this is a short book, there’s no instalove or instalust. The meet-cute is awesome and cleverly done, and the heroine actually is very wary of the hero. The romance had a pleasing arc as these two got to know each other while she worked on her breakup bucket list with him. Well-written novella, highly recommended. Again, I just wish it were longer so I could spend more time with the characters.
As someone who particularly loves historical romance, sometimes I despair when I dip my toe into the contemporary romance genre as I often think they are more crude than sexy (when it is a steamy book) or has too much profanity (even in “clean” romances). Books like this make me keep dipping my toe in the muck to find the gold, as this book is!
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
Yay!!! I have found another wonderful new-to-me author that is going to be so much fun to follow! I really liked this quick story simply because there was so much character depth that I never felt robbed in any way of getting to know both Lindsay and Evan! They have a really cute initial meeting and we get to see them get to know each other at a more normal pace as they explore the city together. A great feel-good love story!!

The short read checks all my boxes for an entertaining read. The couple were very likable and I felt their connection with each other right from the start. Lindsey has made a bucket list that with Evans can be accomplished.

Evan is the taking over the reins of his family’s corporate business. He is truly a nice guy. Not the typical businessman we so often find in these love stories. Lindsey has her own software consulting business. Lindsey is packing up her life in Port City after a bad breakup and ticking off items on her to do list before she moves back home. A chance encounter on the roof of Evan’s corporate building leads to an instant connection between these two. The attraction and chemistry between these two is hot, intense and steamy. I couldn’t put this book down once I started reading it.

A fun read with a sweet story line. The characters are strong and well developed, fun to get to know, entertaining and likable. The story line is captivating and enjoyable and a perfect read for your summer evenings while sitting on your front porch sipping your favorite lemonade.

This is a cute story. Lindsay has had her plans and relationship go south. So she plans to go back home. She’s goal oriented so before she does she makes a list of things she wants to do. She never planned on meeting Evan! There are some very cute moments in the book as Lindsay learns more about herself. It’s a quick read. “The Breakup Bucket List” by Cassie Cross was a cute, sweet, and fun story that read as a complete standalone, though I note that the female lead character’s sister starred in the previous story of the Love Is… series. The opening chapter was particularly entertaining because it felt a bit like a spy caper to me. Female lead character Lindsay acted like she was on a secret mission with the way she was sneaking around, and it was obvious that she was doing something she wasn’t supposed to do. However, breaking the rules led to an awesome meet-cute with the male lead, Evan, and set up a delightful, if quick, romance.
I was impressed at the amount of character development that was packed into such a short (novella-length) story, as well as the fact that the relationship between Evan and Lindsay never felt like insta-lust or insta-love. Lindsay and Evan were both quite likeable and relatable, and I enjoyed their witty banter as they explored the city together and got to know each other. It was clear that they were attracted to each other from the start, but I could also tell that they genuinely liked each other and had fun spending time together.
Overall, I very much enjoyed “The Breakup Bucket List” and highly recommend it for all fans of contemporary romance and romantic comedy. I look forward to the next book in this series.

This was just the read I needed. It was the perfect fun flirty romance to sit on the patio in the sun for a couple of hours.
The characters of Even and Lindsey are delightful and very likeable. Evan is the taking over the reins of his family’s corporate business. He is truly a nice guy. Not the typical businessman we so often find in these love stories. Lindsey has her own software consulting business. Lindsey is packing up her life in Port City after a breakup and ticking off items on her to do list for the city before she moves back home. A chance encounter on the roof of Evan’s corporate building leads to this fun and flirty read.
I recommend this to any looking for an easy fast summer read. You could easily finish this in one afternoon by the pool. This was a 4/5 read for me.
Thanks for the memories, Cassie Cross. The Breakup Bucket List is a celebration. Lindsay closes one heartbreaking chapter of her life, only to find a connection of the heart, she hadn’t known she was looking for. Evan is on a man on a mission. Success is the name of the game, but his heart could have other plans. In a world where actions speak louder than words, it’s nice to step away from the harshness of reality and into the beauty that is love. My one pet peeve is that it ended far too soon.
