I can’t believe I haven’t read this before now. I loved this series of quick reads that had me laughing and cursing these characters at the same time. I’m a fan of this author’s writing and knew that Phoebe and Madsen would be two terrific characters that I would love and root for. Plus Duncan and Kelsey cracked me up and made things interesting. Pick this up for an enjoyable read.
Andrea Johnston tells the story of Phoebe & Madsen in three parts: Spring, Summer and Winter. I waited to read the book all at once, as opposed to reading each individual novella and I’m so glad I did. This book was beyond phenomenal!! It was such an emotional, angsty romance! From the moment Phoebe and Madsen got together their were trials and tribulations the couple had to face, and at times I wasn’t sure if I was going to like the outcome at the end of the book. Between not labeling their romance, job offers, an unexpected arrival from the past, Andrea keeps you guessing until the last few chapters about what’s going to happen. I can’t express how much I loved this book! Not only did Phoebe and Madsen tug at my heart-strings but I absolutely loved Duncan and Kelsey’s side story in the book!! I really hope Andrea decides to write more about all these characters because I loved them so much and I’m not ready for their stories to be over.
Loved the story of Madsen and Phoebe, from how it started, to them being on separate parts of the country to finding out if their love will be strong enough to keep them together, The Banter between Phoebe and her twin brother Duncan is hilarious. The bonus scene omg…. just loved it wasn’t what i excepted at all. Andrea sure knows how to keep a reader wanting more, and enjoying the end at the same time.
One of my instant one click authors, can’t wait for more from her.
This is the series rolled into one book with a bonus chapter, the bonus chapter fits perfectly for the ending. No spoilers but it was an unexpected character from the series. Love it.
Loved that this series is now rolled into one book! Kelsey and Duncan are a couple. Kelsey’s best friend (who is also Duncan’s sister), Phoebe, and Duncan’s best friend, Madsen all end up on Spring Break together. Phoebe is adamant she will never date Madsen. Well …. let the games begin!
Phoebe and Madsen’s love story was not always an easy ride, but it was amazing! Loved their journey through Spring, Summer and Winter Breaks.
Their friends to lover story was real and relatable and you feel like you actually know them. And Madsen will win your heart while he’s working on winning Phoebe’s!
The bonus chapter was not at all what I was expecting, but it was perfect! Don’t want to give away too much about the bonus, but I enjoyed it!
So glad to see all three of the Phoebe & Madsen novellas compiled into one book! And that bonus chapter… never really thought we would get that POV! Such an interesting take on things! If you loved this love story -you will want to grab this one up and read the bonus chapter!

The Break Series, is the three part story of Phoebe and Madsen.
Madsen and Phoebe’s story is a fun, emotional story packed full of heat, hear, steam and angst of opposites attracting. Circumstances throw Phoebe and Madsen together and although they frustrate each other to no end, they are also inexplicably drawn to each other. He’s cocky, intelligent and charming. Whilst Phoebe is strong, sassy and independent and at times quite prickly.
They live in the moment, as their story progresses over Spring, Summer and Winter break and they face a range of challenges, and temptations along their journey to finding their happy ever after.
