The Breach by CM Bethell Is a genre-crossing novel with elements of fantasy, science fiction, and romantic suspense. With a strong story line, this fast-paced tale will leave you breathless as the plot takes you on an adventure you never would have imagined.
Keira is young, scared, and too proud to accept help from anyone, especially a man. She believes she can lead her clan without aid, but I believe a strong leader is never too good as to not need a little help every once in awhile. It’s clear Devon is more mature than Keira and he must have patience with her if he is to acquire her as his mate.
Bethell’s world building is intriguing as we discover a parallel world with guardian shape shifters, psychic mind-melding, steamy bedroom scenes, an extraordinarily strong love of friends, family, & clan, and a glimpse inside the mind of a madman (or three). Fasten your seat belts, one-click this fantastic first installment, and get ready for the ride of your lives, fellow bibliophiles!
Never, ever judge a book by its cover! When my friend passed this book on to me I imagined I was going to be reading a H ROMANCE…novel! Nothing is further from the truth! Taking me to places I could never imagine in my own head I visited parallel universes and the exciting shift shapers! Thank you Ms. Bethell! Having already read Books One and Two I am so looking forward to the next one!!!
I love reading local authors as I can picture the places the characters go and where they live, love, and laugh! Thinking bout this parallel world here where I live is too much fun!
You get very attached to these characters! Can’t wait to read more!!
Good and evil both exist in parallel worlds as one Celtic Guardian of Odon crosses the boundaries of his world and Earth to discover his fated mate at a time when another breach of the portal between the worlds could destroy all he is worn to protect.
Devon has his own ghosts in his past to deal with and he cannot fail in his mission now, but the strong willed Keira is someone he never dreamed he would find. Does this mean the legends are true, is it possible to find the one soul who completes your own?
As the leader of a small band of survivors of a portal breach, Keira tries to make a new life on Earth. Now this Guardian appears and she must decide if he is friend or foe, can he be trusted and can they work together to uncover the real enemy of their people?
THE BREACH: BOOK ONE DEVON by C.M. Bethell has a fabulous premise, two worlds, perilous dangers and the passions of a love/hate/love relationship between two souls caught up in a maelstrom of emotions when they should be fighting to help their worlds survive.
Flawed characters, family bonds, it’s all here, but for me, it was a rollercoaster of five star reading at the highs and not five star reading in the lows. There were times I wanted to say, “Move along,” and times I wanted more. A bit dragged out, but still a good read.
This does promise to be an interesting series, so I would say to give it a try, for sure!
