For the Bratva, retribution is the law. An eye for an eye.A tooth for a tooth. A life for a life. But the man who killed my beloved deserves a fate worse than death. He’ll live knowing his only daughter was captured by a monster… That he’s utterly powerless to stop me.Olena Baranov will be my prisoner. My retribution. My undoing. Vengeance will be mine.
Jane Henry is the dark mistress of this harsh Bratva world where debts are paid in blood and innocence is always temporary. Jane’s Bratva are brutal, vital men who live in a world where violence is inevitable. Pain must be endured… and perhaps if one is very fortunate, even enjoyed. Tender and brutal, sweet and savage, The Bratva’s Captive took me prisoner and left me panting in its wake.
When we meet Maksym he’s been captured and is being tortured for answers he refuses to give. By the time the Bratva locate and release him, he’s severely broken in several places and, like during his capture, refuses to speak. It’s decided he will go to America and stay with the former brigadier of the brotherhood and his family in order to fully heal. While recuperating, his entire world changes again. Jane Henry has taken this third book of the “Wicked Doms” series to a whole new emotional level with twists and turns, emotional upheaval, and a VERY strong Dom. It just seems like each one has become better than the last.
More Bratva Greatness! Fantastic Audible Listen
The Bratva’s Captive: A Dark Mafia Romance (Wicked Doms)
By: Jane Henry
Narrated by: Kai Kennicott, Wen Ross
Series: Wicked Doms, Book 3
Another great addition to the Wicked Doms series! No one does the Bratva like Jane Henry, she creates stories that are dark and intense, stories that are completely engrossing and hard to put down. Her Bratva characters are hardened Alpha Doms who must be in complete control of everything in their lives including their women. This is Maksym’s story, he is on the amends both physically and mentally after being rescued from being tortured and imprisoned by the Rival Bratva. He still has nightmares of what they did to him, at the request of his love, Taya, he is away taking a break. He then gets the news that Taya was found murdered. He gets back to Russia and is on a mission for revenge. His revenge will come in the form of the rival Bratva’s Bosses daughter, Olena. He abducts her and holds her hostage but soon finds out she is not dedicated to her father. But he does not trust her and goes with his own plans of drawing her father out so he could kill him. I loved how this story played out, it is well plotted with plenty of raw emotion, drama, angst, action, twists, suspense and some hot D/s kink which slow burned in to romance. I loved the chemistry between Maksym and Olena, also loved how they started to developed feelings for each other and had their backs. It was great to see some of the characters from earlier books. Jane Henry, thank you for another awesome story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
I listened to the Audible edition, Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross continue to bring these character and their stories to life. Wen’s Russian accent is simply amazing, I love Kai’s portrayal of Olena, strong and brave. They put a lot into this story, you can hear the characters emotions in their performance as well as the drama of the story. They are fabulous narrators and entertaining storytellers, it is always a pleasure to listen to their work. Thank you for another awesome listen
Maksym’s story is gut wrenching. It deals with his loss and then comes the deception.
Olena is taken from her father and the story grabs you and twists you from there.
Jane Henry writes fabulous stories with well put together characters and story lines. Here men are dominant, and the women are strong and capable enough to tolerate these Bratva men!
I think this one may be my favorite so far……he’s so damaged and broken. Maksym has just one goal left…..vengeance for all he’s suffered and lost……he’s not going to let a little thing like an innocent woman stop him!!
Olena has no clue how far he’ll go……she’s been kept away from the Bratva her whole life and hasn’t had any good experiences since she was “reunited” with her very unloving Dad.
This one had it all……drama, excitement, sexy scenes…….VERY sexy hot scenes……and some amazing chemistry between these two. The emotions were strong in this one……felt like Yoda for a second, lol.
I highly recommend this, read it in one read, couldn’t put it down. Had to see what happened!!
The Bratva’s Captive (Wicked Doms #3) was a good read by Jane Henry. To the Bratva, retribution is their law. Maksyem will capture the daughter of the man who killed his beloved. Olena becomes his prisoner while looking for vengeance. I enjoyed reading this book and cant wait to read more by the author.
Ok, so this was an interesting read but honestly, I just think what goes on is absolutely crazy and makes no sense
The Bratva’s Captive by Jane Henry is a dark mafia romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross. This is the third book in the Wicked Doms series and can be read as a standalone.
The book does with a caution “This dark romance contains dubious consent, elements of violence, and kinky sexual scenes. If such subject matters offend you, please do not listen.”
I absolutely love Jane’s books! They always pull me in and leave me begging for more. I loved the relationship between Maksym and Olena.
Kai and Wen did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.
I would highly recommend this book if you like dark romances, Bratva or mafia romances, or romantic suspense.
Captivating and emotional, contradictory and yet so honest – brilliantly written with everything that goes with it!!
The Bratva’s Captive: A Dark Mafia Romance (Wicked Doms)
By: Jane Henry
Narrated by: Kai Kennicott, Wen Ross
Just when I thought Demyan was my favorite of the series, I listen to Maksym’s story. This tortured soul is brutally dark, but it’s impossible not to fall for him. Reeling off the death of his woman, Maksym is seeking revenge by kidnapping his nemesis’s daughter. Little did he know what this woman would do to him. Olena is an incredible character. She too has had a tormented past, has an inner strength that shows through and keeps her going. These two, though from opposites sides of the Bratva war are two pieces of a puzzle that perfectly fit. But do they see it that way? Jane Henry writes a thrilling story, full of action and passion. It’s intricately written, encompassing all the characters we have gotten to know, love and hate! At times, it’s hard to know who we can trust, and just when you think you know things change! This story keeps you on the edge of your seat, and your heart falling in love! The perfect mix of romance and suspense.
Now the narration. Listening to Maksym, it is clear he is dark, troubled, and rough around the edges. He needs a very dark, masculine voice and Wen Ross delivers him in spades. His Russian accent and his deep growliness is exactly I anticipated, each seen spot on with inflection and emotion. Olena is a tough woman, but you can feel her underlying need for acceptance and love. Kai Kennicott tunes into this personality and becomes Olena. Her voice lets you feel the her emotional changes as the story progresses. These two enhance Henry’s Bratva novels bringing the stories as movies in our minds!

The Bratva’s Captive is the third book in the Wicked Doms series, and while I suggest reading the books in order, it can stand alone. Maksym is trying to heal when he hears devastating news. Now he is only driven by revenge and he doesn’t care who gets in his way, certainly not the daughter of his enemy. Olena is innocent, cares little of her father, and hates that she’s used as a pawn. What will their fate look like as their worlds clash and secrets are revealed?
Let me start by saying that I loved this book and once I started it, I didn’t want to put it down for any reason! It’s intense, the emotions are super high, I felt like I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, trying to figure out what might come next and how I was feeling about it all, biting my fingernails, and loving Olena. She has such strength, even when she was scared. She’s smart, compassionate, trusting of her instincts, but has a fiery temper that gets her in trouble sometimes. Maksym maybe isn’t my favorite hero, but he has such an intense, emotional, and scary past. Being tortured and then his woman murdered would mess anyone up. He was wishy-washy, though, constantly at battle with himself, especially concerning Olena, and just when it seemed like he’d pick one course of action, something comes along and derails all of the progress they made as a couple. They have some serious passion, some serious feelings for each other, and I loved that there’s some enemies to lovers vibes, as well as the softer, protective, loving vibes, too. This book just completely captured my attention and held it captive until I finished it. Now I’m just swooning in happiness and am so excited for any book I can get my hands on from Ms. Henry!
Once again, Jane Henry, bring us in a captivating, dark and intense story in the Russian mafia with The Bratva’s captive which is book 3 in the Wicked doms series. Probably one of my fave one so far.
Really love Maksym story. He was hold prisonner by The Thieves, direct rival to his Bravta, and beaten nearly to death. Soon after he escape, his beloved Taya, was found murdered. He now seek out revenge and decided to kidnapped the daughter of The Thieves boss Yuri, to drive him out. The story between Maksym and Oleana slowly built and he found out the she’s as damaged as him and also in grave danger.
Can’t wait to see whats to come next in the Wicked Doms seris. If you loved dark mafia book, really recommend this serie.
I love this series and couldn’t wait for Maksym’s story! He’s the moody type you can’t help love. When something tragic happens in his past, he wants vengeance and thinks he knows what he should do. Along comes Olena, and she throws him into a tailspin! I loved the interaction between these two and not to mention the sizzling chemistry! Wow! As you read, you come to learn how Maksym is the way he is and you will fall in love with him too! If you want to know what happens to these two, then read this fantastic story!
God, I am in love with this series. This time we get a captive that doesn’t seem to be afraid of her kidnapper and a kidnapper that doesn’t seem to want to be a kidnapper.
Maksym is out for revenge, and he knows that the only way to get to the main man of The Thieves is through his daughter Olena. However, Olena isn’t going to make anything easy on Maksym even if it gets her into even more trouble then she has ever been.
The emotional rollercoaster these two go through before they even meet is stripping, then the twists and turns, the unknown of who is with them and against them keep you guessing until the very end. I think this one is my favorite so far.
The Bratva’s Captive is a must-read story of no hope in anything, including staying alive, and then finding that even in your darkest times, there can be an angel on the other side.
5 Stars for an Outstanding Book!
This was a really good book! I was captured from the first page to the last page. If you like a tough, good-looking, damaged, Bratva man, and a beautiful woman as his prisoner, you will love this book. Maksym was once captured
and beaten by an unmerciful, rival Bravta family. Rescued, but still haunted by his nightmares and while trying to recover tragedy strikes again for him as his beautiful Taya is murdered. To see retribution, he will capture the daughter of the rival Pakhan. There is lots going on in this book, loved the characters in the book. I hated to see it end. Read it today!
Omg I am loving these dark and twisted Bratva books like always Jane Henry has me on the edge of my seat and loving every minute of it !
Jane has out done herself with this series of books I am absolutely loving them a must read but please read the warning that Jane has posted on the book this book may offend some readers
Maksym was held captive and brutally tortured, his only bright spot was an angel he thought was a dream. When he was freed, his recovery was slow and he needed to walk away from his longtime love Taya. As his recovery continues in America, word comes that Taya has been murdered and Maksym is out for revenge. That revenge is to take something precious from the man that took from him. That is Olena, his enemy”s daughter and now Maksym’s prisoner. Maksym and Olena’s story was at times a confusing roller coaster of contradictions. This wasn’t my favorite Wicked Dom Book, but still a good read. Well paced and some surprises.
Even though I received an ARC of this book, this is my honest review!
Maksym has issues. He has a lot of issues. He was held prisoner and tortured badly. Then his woman kicked him out of the house while he was healing, because he wasn’t in the best mental shape. When his boss and friend takes him to the US to try and get some space, their enemies kill his woman. So, he is going to get his revenge, no matter what.
Olena’s father is Maks’ enemy. He’s going to take her so that he can get her father to come out in the open for revenge. Olena just wants her freedom, and maybe someone to protect her. Then Maks happens.
I really cheered for them. I really wanted them to succeed. They are both kind of broken, and they really fit well together and are really kind of just perfect for each other. I liked Maks most of the time. He really got into his own head a little too much sometimes, which made it hard for him to figure out how to do what he wanted or needed to do. I think sometimes he wasn’t even sure what he wanted. He confused Olena a lot, but that’s because he was confused too.
I’m looking forward to seeing more in this world.
Well, what an awesome story. Maks and Olena, two different people from the same world, but not the same. From one cage to another. The story was intense and wonderful at the same time. You are pulling for Maks and then you are pulling for Olena, but at different times throughout their journey. I loved it and this story kept you on the edge of your seat for sure, a definite page turner. There are some secrets revealed at the end which just make you want more. I will definitely read the next chapter in this series. Loved it.
There are characters here that had their own books so reading the series in order is a suggestion. You won’t feel lost if you don’t but you can always catch up after you finish this one.
Maksym Alexeev has a goal that will take a lot of hard work. Olena Baranov is about to experience her father’s world. When using the first person point of view, most authors will title each chapter with the name of the character that is speaking. Here the author doesn’t do that which is fine since I have no trouble figuring it out for myself.
This is a story where you have to be comfortable with a person getting pleasure from pain. But there are times where you will see the pain but no pleasure. There will be no mistaking that these men are immersed into the Bratva business. Other times, you will see they have a life beyond that.
Maksym has a very strong personality and some of that is because of what he’s been through. Olena at times may seem meek. Some of that could be her age but there are times where she holds her own – for a certain someone that can be frustrating.
I think if you are going to like this book you have to be adventurous. You also have to remember that this is a work of fiction. These characters are all created in the author’s mind. There are some that don’t like reading books with the mafia theme and some may consider it crime fiction. But where the main character falls in love, I think it falls more in the bad boy category since that man seems redeemable.
I found this book to be a quick read – having it hot and steamy outside certainly helped. If you have things planned for your day but have no plans for part of it, why not pick this up and get to know one of the author’s Wicked Doms. The ending gives no hints if there is more to come. But if you like reading about her Doms, the author has several other series you could check out.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
