It held my interest pretty well. I wanted to know what would happen next. There were interesting characters unlike the people that I know very well. That was perhaps a bit broadening. The writing overall I found to be only about a B- to a C+.
Too many overused words that someone obviously fell in love with. Time for a thesaurus, I think.
I love this author. I have read all the books in this series, in order. Some are better than others. This one ranks a B+ Sometimes the number of characters and the amount of activity going on in a short time span can become as overwhelming for me as they must surely be for the primary characters.
The apartment has become too crowded.
But still a fun action packed read. Escapism at its best.
I love this collection of books! The main character, Genevieve, is fascinating in that she explains the world of a high-functioning autistic person. The surrounding characters are a wonderful mix of the criminal element with a conscience, art experts, and a computer expert. They work for the good guys, but they know and are friends with some bad guys whom they cajole into helping them solve crimes.
This series has a main character who has autism, a world class, a hacker, a police detective, and a cast of characters to make it lively and interesting. Just enough tension and mistrust between the characters, but when the situation calls for it they pull together, saving the day. Without being formulaic, this is an enjoyable series that doesn’t get into the gory details of the violence.
Really liked the book. It was different
A good story well told. Interesting premise and promises the series has much to offer. I even learned some things about modern art, and found a painting I really enjoyed by looking up each of the ones mentioned in the book. I don’t usually enjoy most modern art paintings.
With an autistic grandchild I really enjoyed the mind of the main character. The plot was very interesting & convoluted. I never knew what was going to come up next. I enjoy stories of criminals & lawmen working together.
I like the author’s style. A complete book and not a cliff hanger. She is able to keep the reader engaged to the end. Everything wraps up and you are ready for the next story by Estelle. Enjoyable and fun read.
The story was not within my knowledge of art and was going to put the book away and not read it! But, as I continued to read,I found myself getting more interested in the story. Glad I kept going,, good story and main characters!
Although this is the third book in this series it is the first that I have read. I enjoyed the characters and their relationships with one another. The main character, Dr. Genevieve Lenard, is in the autism spectrum and this book, told from her perspective, gives a realistic view into her mind, helpful for people to get a better understanding of how someone in the autism spectrum thinks and explains some of their behaviors. The book has a lot of action and intrigue, along with a little romance. Genevieve looks at the world a little differently from most of us and her sleuthing from how she sees things is refreshing and interesting. I’m definitely going to read the full series.
Some portions were constantly repetitive which could have been less and still had the message be understood but that is how I feel. Story, characters and ending were interesting and a good read. Considering my feelings of repetitiveness I still read 3 books from this author and would read another.
This book in the series does not disappoint. The intriguing characters and relationships build and the reader is sucked into the story. It is always nice to read and learn as well, and the art world and the education on the art adds to the enjoyment.
I got this when it was free. Loved it so much that I tracked down the sequels at local libraries. After checking them out multiple times, I realized this series was one of the few I really wanted to own. I’ve bought the entire collection and am eagerly awaiting the next volume.
Interesting point of view. The heroine is a high functioning autistic. Don’t think I have ever read a mystery from that pov. It was a little slower reading than I usually like but it was a good story and I enjoyed it.
I have loved Genevieve from the beginning and it is so fun to watch her Character grow. There are a few new Character in this story that it looks like will be around in future books. I can’t wait to see what happens.
I love all her books.
Just as action packed as the previous two books. Story is filled with twists and turns throughout, as well as the wonderful characters, who keep you guessing until the end. Highly recommend! Looking forward to the next book in this series.
E Ryan is a fabulous writer you really have to pay attention as you read or you will miss things so it’s challenging reading but oh so worth it what a great picture she paints of an autistic in
This book contains everything. It made me laugh out loud and made me shiver in my boots! It captures a wide spectrum of emotions and I couldn’t put it down!!
