He’s the total package. Except … Eric Miller isn’t looking for a long term relationship. And he definitely isn’t thrilled when a friend signs him up for The Boyfriend Experience app behind his back. It’s not like he has a problem getting women on his own. But when he gets a notification that someone is in need of his . . . services, he’s intrigued enough to check out her profile and can’t resist … enough to check out her profile and can’t resist the sexy, sassy little brunette who only wants him as a decoy for a family event.
Evie Bennett needs a boyfriend, stat. Someone who can accompany her to her family reunion so she doesn’t have to explain that she’s been recently dumped. Again. She’s perfectly happy being an independent woman, but what’s a girl to do when her new fake boyfriend starts to feel like the real deal?

This was a fun, quick read! I love a fake relationship story. Eric and Evie were great together, and their chemistry was hot! Evie was super sweet, and Eric was a great guy. I liked that Eric helped Evie overcome her insecurities, and realize that she deserved better than she had been getting. Evie helped Eric see that sometimes things happen beyond our control, but that doesn’t mean that you stop living because of them. The ending was very sweet, and I was excited to see them get their HEA.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
I really like this whole concept of a boyfriend for hire. Nothing long term but to cover those uncomfortable situations that require one.
Of course the way Eric got added to the site was hysterical and the fact that his friend Dylan managed to accept that beta request was even funnier. Well funny to me, not so much to Eric.
Evie really needs a date for her family reunion weekend, not so much for her parents but to ward off her cousin and her fiancé, the fiancé that just happens to be one of Evie’s ex-boyfriends.
Now Eric wasn’t going to do it, he was going to tell her that when they met but there was just something about Evie that he couldn’t turn her down. He did however have to check his work schedule.
In spite of the way they were matched up, it was so enjoyable to watch this relationship develop. We get more insight into why Eric doesn’t want a serious relationship, tears there folks.
Evie’s parents are a hoot and her cousin well she’s a bully and an overbearing, obnoxious woman.
Lots of laughs, tears and seriously hot scenes. I thoroughly enjoyed this book!
This is such an excellent book. The story is romantic, fun, emotional and very steamy. I love every single part of this book. I enjoyed reading this book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Evie Bennett needs a boyfriend and quickly! After hearing about The Boyfriend Experience app, Evie finds herself with Eric Miller, a unsuspecting guy who had no idea he was put on the app by his friends. When Evie chooses Eric, he decides to roll with the punches and help her out with her family reunion.
The Boyfriend Experience is a fun, sexy and intriguing story from Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde. Hell, I didn’t even know where one author stopped and the other started, the writing was that good! The chemistry between the couple was fun and sexy, and when the “fake” relationship starts to feel oh so real…GAH!! I loved it! Every aspect of their relationship had me intrigued and I was totally sucked into this story! I cannot wait to see what’s next in this series!
Eric’s friends sign him up for an app called The Boyfriend Experience without letting him know. He’s not looking for a long term relationship.
When Evie sees his profile on the app, fills out the questions and waits to see who will be chosen. She needs a date for a family event.
What follows is a fun read, full of sexy times and lots of adventures. I really enjoyed this book by Ms. Wilde and Ms. Phillips and I highly recommend it.
Oh my lawd….. Carly and Erika definitely gave us one helluva experience with this sexy, funny, swoon-worthy read that had me enamoured with the storyline and charmed by the characters! This is hands down my favorite book from these two incredible authors. If you love fake boyfriend reads as much as I do, then I highly recommend grabbing this book and diving into this captivating read!
The Boyfriend Experience was great read. Eric and Evie’s story was sweet, funny, steamy and heartbreaking at times. It drew me in from page one and I was sad when it was over.
Great start to a new series. I can’t wait for more Boyfriend Experience books.
Fun, easy, light-hearted read. I loved the chemistry between Evie and Eric. I wish we had gotten more of their weekend together but enjoyed every page in this story!
Eric Miller doesn’t do relationships….EVER. When he lost his twin sister at 16 yrs old, Eric’s life changed forever and he never wants to go through that sadness again.
Evie Bennett is sick and tired of the idiots she keeps dating and wonders why they always end up cheating on her. After just breaking up with the last idiot, Evie needs a pretend boyfriend for her family reunion the next weekend. When when of Evie’s clients suggests she use a new app called The Boyfriend Experience she is skeptical but decides to try it.
When Eric gets a notification from The Boyfriend Experience app, he is not happy with his best friend and business partner because he knows Leo and his brother Dylan are behind it! Eric is intrigued by the beauty he sees but says he will let her down easily. Too bad when Dylan was going to “take care of it” for Eric, he really sends Evie a request to meet! LOL
Of course after meeting Evie in person, Eric is instantly hooked and decides he will be her pretend boyfriend for the weekend. He can keep things objective! After spending more and more time together, feelings are quickly getting involved between Evie and Eric. For once in their lives they are both being open and honest about everything because neither of them think anything more will come of their relationship after the weekend. It’s funny how fast that changes!
It was fun watching these two who started off pretending quickly turn into something real. I just adored Eric. He really did turn out to be perfect boyfriend material. Overall another great book from these two authors. I laughed, I cried and I swooned!
Eric and Evie
The boyfriend experience is an amazingly heartfelt story about a woman, Evie who continuously dates men that are flawed. When a client at her Salon, suggests a new app that is still in beta testing to her, Evie is keen to log in and find someone to pretend to be her boyfriend, for her family reunion over the Fourth of July weekend.
One of Eric’s best friends, Dylan, signs him up for his dating app….which is more about supplying a guy for various functions that women might need a date for etc. When Eric receives a message alerting him to the app and a possible date, Dylan quickly accepts the invite and the Stone brothers send him on their way
Neither Eric nor Evie were prepared for the chemistry and emotions that they’d feel for each other. Eric is closed off and Evie has a heart of gold Suffice to say I loved meeting Evie’s parents and her brother and there are some really funny moments and dialogue between them and also Evie and Eric which make this book worth its weight in gold
I hope more is to come in this series….but if not that’s okay as I absolutely love and adore these characters and even had some tears at certain moments
This story was so amazing from the beginning. Erika and Carly always deliver a story that is hot, emotional, makes you smile or even laugh out loud. Eric wants nothing to do with the APP. I love love love how he accepts the request (Dylan is so funny). Evie needs to bring a date to her family reunion. Her ex is engaged to her mean cousin. I love what Eric wanted as payment for the weekend. The chemistry between them was so hot. Her parents and brother & partner were so funny. The first scene with he butterfly brought me to tears and then to top it off with them at the end..magical. This book was so hard to put down. So yes, I love the hot, steamy parts of this story but what I love the most is the connection I feel to the characters and the emotions that Erika and Carly make me fee when I read their stories. Great job!!!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Finally, Erik gets his story. This is another fabulous combination of Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde and includes some characters we’ve met in other stories. That just gives the story of Erik and Evie that much more heart.
It all started with a dare….how many times do we hear that? Erik’s friends dared him to follow through with a dating app experience. After all, it was all in fun.
Until it wasn’t. From the moment he saw Evie’s picture, he knew she was more. More than his one night hook-ups and more than he was actually looking for. But she needed his help and he was the man for the job.
Unfortunately it became much more than a job for both of them. Can two people with such different pasts and plans for the future get it together enough to admit their true feelings? Of course, with these authors, you are sure of the HEA and it’s a fun read with lots of witty and sexy interactions.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book. I was so happy that Eric got a story, he was so worth the wait! Eric is haunted by his past, no commitments, no relationships no getting in over his head he just can’t do it, but when one of his friends signs him up for his new app what’s a guy to do? Evie has not had the best luck with men lately and wants to be on her own for a while, but needs a fake boyfriend for a family event, so what’s a girl to do? When these two meet, sparks fly, the attraction is there, banter is amazing, and the chemistry is off the charts hot! They hit it off and can’t wait to be with each other. Eric is everything her ex’s weren’t but Evie has to remember to not get to close its just business, well that’s what they both tell themselves. What starts out as a business transaction slowly turns to more, but can Eric let his fear go and embrace Evie and everything she has to offer? I loved this story, it was sweet, sexy, and a little heart breaking. I have to say this story really hit a nerve with me and brought me to tears and if that doesn’t make an awesome book then I don’t know what does. These two authors are amazing and I’m so happy I got the opportunity to read this story. Highly recommend this book and the series, you can’t go wrong!!
Sometimes you have to go through a few frogs to find your prince.
There is so much more to this story that a fake boyfriend for the weekend to survive a family reunion. There is tragic loss and never coming to terms with it. There is irrational fear of things beyond our control. There is compassion and understanding and so much chemistry that you can almost feel the heat coming right off the pages.
I loved the entire Tall, Dark & Sexy series and I love that Carly & Erika teamed up again to give Eric his HEA.
Oh how much did I enjoy this one? So, so much! Evie has the worst luck with men. Seriously, those she has been with seem to be cheaters and the latest turned out to have a fiance and was stringing her along. Now she has a family reunion coming up and doesn’t want to go alone and one of her clients recommends her brother-in-law’s new app, The Boyfriend Experience. After a couple glasses of wine for fortitude she downloads the app and finds the perfect match, Eric. The only problem is that Eric didn’t sign up for the beta testing, he was signed up unknowingly and when his phone pings with the alert, Dylan swipes the phone and accepts the coffee date for the following morning. Eric goes with every intention of telling Evie there was a mix up but after meeting he is intrigued and they officially are fake boyfriend/girlfriend for the reunion. Oh boy, with kisses as payment things heat up and soon feelings are involved. Will they make it real instead of fake? This is definitely a recommendation from me and I cannot wait for more of this series!
When Evie has to go to a family reunion, recently split from yet another cheating ex, she uses an app to hire herself a boyfriend for the weekend. Only thing is, Eric didn’t actually sign himself up to beta test the new app his friend created and when his profile is pinged, he immediately wants to cancel the “date”. Eric’s a gentleman though and can’t bring himself to cancel by any other means than in person. When he meets Evie however, there is a connection, one he never expected to feel seeing as he’s a self confirmed bachelor, and once he hears Evie’s reasons behind needing a fake boyfriend he just has to help her. Will he tell Evie the truth about the app? Will he be able to act professional when he’s alone with Evie? Will Evie be able to resist when the whole “fake boyfriend” thing feels more real than any of her past relationships ever have?
Ok, so this was my first read from this writing duo and while I admit that the first half of the book was a bit slow for me, once Eric and Evie arrived at the camp it really picked up in my opinion. The second half of the book was funny, sweet and had some pretty good bedroom action going on too. The second half really saved it for me and I give The Boyfriend Experience 4 stars.
OMG. Loved this book from the very beginning. Loved the concept, loved the banter, loved Evie’s parents. I grinned often while reading, which I did in one sitting. Awesome book that got laughing at one point and then had you emotional at another. I sooooooo want a boyfriend experience with Eric.
This story features Eric and Evie. I can’t imagine what Eric has been through. It’s so tragic. I understand his logic in the way he’s living his life but at the same time, it’s not completely his choice to make. Eric is an AMAZING boyfriend! He’s attentive in ALL ways, chivalrous, loves PDAs and is free with honest compliments. Oh, and he’s pretty amazing in bed too. Very close to perfection! Evie is pretty great too. I think I had her pegged as quiet and shy but she’s neither of those things. She was a little guarded because of her past experiences. These two bring out the best in each other. Evie’s parents are pretty hilarious and fabulous! I can’t imagine how it would have been growing up with parents like hers. I would have liked more interaction with her grandfather, which she is extremely close to. Last but definitely not least, Graham and Raquel are getting EVERYTHING they deserve.
This is another fabulous read from the dynamic duo of writing teams. I can’t wait for the next one!
I really enjoyed this book about Eric and Evie. Pretend boyfriend/girlfriend stories aren’t always my favorite but this one was different for me. I’m not sure why but I enjoyed both characters. It was an easy read and pretty hot. The chemistry between Eric and Evie was pretty intense and didn’t come off as forced. Usually, when a character has relationship “issues”, they aren’t very good reasons but Eric’s issues were very understandable. This one hit many buttons; easy read, likable people, and an eventual HEA.
When Eric’s friend signs him up for the Boyfriend Experience app without telling him, Eric’s first response is to blow it off. When he gets a notification that someone wants to hire him, he figures he’ll tell the lady it was all a mistake and that will be that. When he meets Evie Bennet for the first time, sparks fly. Eric has been hurt enough by life to believe avoiding long-term relationships are the best way forward. Evie has lost her confidence in herself and her judgement after two bad boyfriends. But she wants a fake boyfriend for a family weekend so she can avoid the pity and the Boyfriend Experience seems like the perfect deal. Both people go in with eyes wide open, no expectations, and a set end to the ‘relationship’. But when feelings refuse to be suppressed, can they turn this into something real?
The hype (and title) leave you with no doubt about what to expect from hero Eric Miller and Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde deliver: this guy is your new perfect book boyfriend. Smart, kind, confident, with a wicked sense of humor and ability to roll with the flow, Eric has it all. He’s also well versed in keeping walls around his heart and up front about not doing long term relationships- although he doesn’t generally share his reasons. The instant attraction between them means Eric doesn’t even consider telling Evie the truth about not signing up for the app, but dives right in with her idea- into what readers can predict will be quite a ride!
I loved how instantly protective and sweet Eric was with Evie and that he wanted her to have a weekend that would build up her self confidence. Whether it was Evie, his mom, or a complete stranger, Eric wanted to make them feel better about themselves after talking to them. It wasn’t a gimmick, or something her felt he had to do as a ‘fake’ boyfriend, but just a part of his personality. The differences between Eric’s family and Evie’s were both intentionally humorous and deeply touching. And I loved the emotional, poignant, and sweet way Eric remembered his sister Trisha and various times throughout the book.
The Boyfriend Experience is a short and sweet book with intensely hot chemistry between Eric and Evie that will keep you glued to the page from start to finish. A book I can definitely see re-visiting whenever I need the book equivalent of a good cuddle, and a must read romance!
I received an ARC of this book from Booksprout in exchange for an honest review
