When I asked Jordan Wells for a Boyfriend Experience game I didn’t expect to get stuck with billionaire real-estate agent, Lawton Ayers. He doesn’t exactly fit the job description.
WANTED
One professional woman with business experience.
Must be willing to build a future together.
Successful entrepreneur a must. Bonus points if you’re a crazy local legend.
When Jordan Wells offered up Oaklee Ryan a last-minute business partner to seal a deal I’ve been working on for years, I didn’t expect beautiful, sexy, and multi-orgasmic to be on her list of qualifications.
But that’s what I got. And she’s perfect just the way she is.
Too bad she doesn’t want me to be HER boyfriend. Because she bought me for someone else…

I was a little skeptical of The Boyfriend Experience when I started it. I mean really, it just didn’t seem like a typical Jordan Game. It seemed pretty tame… so I just wasn’t expecting much from this book. But boy was I wrong. This was my favorite book in this series. It was steamy, sweet, romantic and still had drama and mystery woven in. I read it cover to cover because I h as d to know what was going on.
Fun and entertaining story! This story is entertaining, fast-paced, filled with intrigues, suspense, hilarious scenes and steamy scenes. The characters are amazing! I absolutely loved Oakley and Lawton (Law)! Oaklee is really crazy and hilarious! I love how she doesn’t care about what the others think. Law is so patient with Oaklee and all of her requests! He’s really the perfect boyfriend! The narration can’t be more perfect, with these three narrators. Victoria Mei’s voice fits perfectly as Oaklee. I absolutely love her voice! Joe Arden is perfect as Law. He has such a great voice! His interpretation is really believable. And, of course, Teddy Hamilton is as great as always. I really really enjoyed my listening.
It’s sexy, and suspenseful, and fun, all rolled into one. I love Lawton, probably my
most favorite so far. Oaklee had me confused and worried for a bit, but she pulled
through. Another great story, can’t wait for the next one!
After a slow start this turned into one humdinger of a read
This is a contemporary romance with a lot of intrigue and some very unexpected twists. I loved the turning point series, though I struggled with the first book in the Jordan’s Game series. However the blurb sounding interesting and I really wanted to give another JA Huss book a try. I was expecting something a little different to what I got. This author is known, amongst her fans, for playing mind games with readers, so part of me expected an intense read. The first half of the book, whilst not exactly bland, didn’t reel me in. However the second half was everything I wanted and expected.
Oaklee hires a ‘boyfriend’ to lure a much bigger fish and try and beat an opponent who, it seems, is trying to take over her life. Lawton just needs someone interesting to pretend to be his partner for a TV pitch. Neither get what they think they want, but they do get what they need.
This was a book that I struggled to get into at first. By the 48% mark I had put it down and lost interest three times. Whilst I really liked Law at that point, I wasn’t so sure about Oaklee as a character. I also felt the pace was too slow, leaving me a little uninspired. I think perhaps it’s just too ‘contemporary’ for me, I like the story to have some darkness, kink or suspense too.
Whether it was taking a break from the book or whether it was genuinely that the story picked up but when I picked it back up I found that I felt a lot more involved. I really grew to like Oaklee, she wasn’t quite the self-centred and brash individual she had first appeared to be. Law and Oaklee made a very special couple and I enjoyed seeing how both discovered that what they thought they wanted in life wasn’t necessarily the same as what they needed. They made a really wonderful couple and their chemistry was intense.
Following a revelation given by Oaklee regarding her childhood I suspecting that (view spoiler). Well didn’t the author play a blinder there and totally twist things around.
The second half of the book was fantastic, so much happened, so many twisty turns and revelations, almost to the point of feeling rushed. I would have liked the whole saga of Law not knowing who to believe to have been dragged out a little more and for the tension to have been built up over a longer period. That said this is still a well written and overall entertaining read. I even didn’t mind that it was very insta-lust and even a little insta-love! Most of the book was set over a few days, though it felt much longer than that.
Oaklee Ryan is a Brew master. Lawton Gabriel is Real Estate mogul. When Oaklee wants The Boyfriend Experience she goes to the Game Master, Jordan Wells. The only problem is no one wants to play with her. Jordan’s last hope is Lawton so he asks him for a favor. Lawton thinks this will be easy. A little dinner, dancing and romancing. Except, that is not what she wants. She wants revenge and annihilation not hearts and flowers romance.
This is one crazy ride with these two and they are giving Jordan a headache with it all. Fun, laughter, twists and turns that surprise even Oaklee and Lawton. Of course there is heat and a little bit of romancing too. I loved the Boyfriend Experience and will have to re-read this one again.
Wow. I’m not sure what I expected when I started this book, but I didn’t expect THAT!
This book was awesome.
I must admit that I was a little worried. I kept having squirrel moments in the beginning of this book, and I’m not sure if it was me, or the book. I’m notorious for not reading in order (my bad) and in this case, while Oaklee and Lawton’s was a complete standalone, and they were great…I felt lost in the beginning regarding Jordan’s games. I wasn’t sure what was going on and I felt like I’d dropped into the story. So honestly, it wasn’t until Oaklee took Lawton to the party and Hanna was introduced that I really became interested. From that point on, I couldn’t put the book down.
I called it as soon as Oaklee had Lawton do a taste test at her apartment and Law couldn’t figure out later why she had only a couple beers for him to taste, and they were so different. I knew then what the set up was and kept reading to see if I was right. And I was. And I was intrigued. And the story she then told Law…dang.
I’ll admit, while I loved the story, I also have problems with stories like (in general)…I hate the feeling of helplessness when the hero/heroine is in the right and nothing they do works for them, and the bad guy is always 10 steps ahead. It frustrates me to no end and I lost sleep over this book reading to see what was going to happen and see if Hanna actually gets her comeuppance or not. And lets just say, while things DO work out, there was a part of it I hated. I hated the “joint” venture announced at the end. I kind of wish that they’d pulled the clichéd “secretly microphoned” trick and announced Hanna’s wrongdoings to everyone in the world (especially since the media was there). But, that’s just me and my bloodthirsty need for vengeance.
Since I’m making confessions, toward the end of the book, whey they were forming a plan to bring Hanna down and Law and Oaklee were making up…I skimmed their steamy makeup sex to get to the good stuff…aka…BRINGING HANNA DOWN!
Overall, this book freaking rocked.
Oaklee and Lawton sure entertained me! I loved that Oaklee has a brewery – I love beer, and would totally want to try her beers.
The Boyfriend Experience was both filled with action and with suspense, and I loved that Lawton thought he knew what Oaklee needed from him – only to be very surprised when she told him.
Self-discovery, growing, and falling in love was all part of the story, and I loved how characters from other Huss books showed up in unexpected ways.
I seriously think that after a heavier, more emotional book that Julie needs a break as well as her readers. And this is that sort of book.
Don’t get me wrong – she still brings some twists and the hotness, but with a little more humor. It is great to finally get Lawton’s story, as well as see some glimpses of past characters. Lawton and Oaklee have such chemistry that it would be difficult to see them with anyone but each other.
I am loving this series of stories! They are standalones in the same world. There is something really endearing about all of these characters. They are so real. I love the inter monologue and really getting to see what they are thinking and feeling. Law is such an amazing book boyfriend. I mean, if you can’t swoon over him, then I really think there might be something wrong with you. And Oaklee is just the type of strong female character that I love. A little crazy, a little quirky and a whole lot REAL. There was suspense at how the story was going to play out. These two together are just perfection.
4.5 stars for – The Boyfriend Experience – book three in the Jordan’s Game series by J.A. Huss. While this can be read as a stand-alone I highly suggest reading books one and two for sheer entertainment purposes alone. Plus the added bonus of cameos from past characters of Julie’s many different series was lots of fun to see. With Jordan in the business of making everyone else happy it was great to see that his chance of a happily ever after is finally coming up on the horizon next and that one looks like it will be Huss’ hottest book to date!!!
Oaklee – the owner of a successful brewery, is also the “Experience” nobody wants as she earned a bit of a reputation for being difficult therefore her fee for the game is rather high. What she wants seemed rather easy to Jordan at first but with only one day left of her contract he is scrambling to find her match. Jordan comes to the rescue in the only way he knows how by manipulating the situation to suit everyone and calling in favors.
Lawton is a very wealthy real-estate tycoon that is sick of the grind and wants to take a step back but in order to do that he needs a “girlfriend”. When Jordan tells him of Oaklee’s situation he thinks it will be a perfect match but he couldn’t have been more wrong if he tried. Her idea of a boyfriend whether real or imagined is so not what he signed up for and things are bound to get all sorts of crazy when he tells her that. Strange thing is he kind of likes her this way.
Emotional, sexy as hell, and completely unputdownable.
The Boyfriend Experience is an enjoyable scorching, toe-curling, hot story that I couldn’t put down. This was such a fantastic and fun read.
JA Huss writes words that are just magical, bringing her stories to life, and she did an amazing job of weaving a refreshing and original story for Lawton and Oaklee. Their story is refreshingly hilarious, heart-warming, addictive and entertaining to the very last page.
Perfect pacing, great plot with twists and turns. Compelling characters that are likeable and believable. The chemistry between Lawton and Oaklee was off the charts explosive, and their banter was incredible. They’re perfect for each other.
I meet Lawton in a brief but memorable scene while playing with Jordan in The Turning series and I’m so glad we finally got his story.
I truly love and enjoy this book and highly recommend it! Can’t wait for Jordan’s story!!
4.5 stars. Egads! It’s like peanut M&Ms, a cold brew and a hot summer day on the water…an unlikely combination that’s really good. What an entertaining, funny, sweet and sexy story that’s well crafted. The characters are glorious and creative with incredible depth and beautiful. Lawton is indeed the perfect boyfriend. Is he perfectly suited businessman or rebel with a cause? He gets my vote for both. He is delicious as a businessman and his cause turns out to be Oaklee. Again, perfect! Oaklee is fabulous with all her wildness and business savvy and surprising shyness. I loved her. The two of them turned the game on its head. They are a terrific couple that balance each other. This is my first of the series but it won’t be my last. I loved it! I will say that some of the writing was a little off putting at times. A lot of “ya.” But overall it’s a page turner with exceptional characters and an intriguing storyline. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC.
I so loved this book. Oaklee and Lawton both needing someone to help them get what they want but is it truly what they need!!!! The chemistry between them is undeniable. They both want to help each other win and find who they really are and what they really want. Oaklee owns a craft beer empire. Lawton a very successful real estate agent. Oaklee has someone tryin to take everything from her and Lawton wants more than to be the real estate agent. What they find though is each other and a fight in both of them that has them fighting for what matters most. Each other. This book had me laughing and sad and fighting for revenge. The ending though. Wow!!! I was like hell yeah!!!!!
Book given to me by author!!!!
Another amazing read by JA that I couldn’t put down. I truly love reading Oaklee & Lawton story. Both needed each other, both wanted a game and both got so much more. The end game you won’t see coming and the Easter Eggs were a nice touch. Once you start reading you will be hooked. Oaklee & Law are on of a kind characters that will become your new favorite couple. Phenomenal 5 Star read that I absolutely loved. Can’t wait to read Play Dirty next.
Lawton is one amazing man. He is a gentleman and one hell of an alpha. Oaklee is one sexy spitfire of a woman. She knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to say what she’s thinking. They make for one interesting couple. They complete each other. Could not wait to see where this story would go. A must read.
Oaklee is in need of a boyfriend, but not in the way most romance heroines need a boyfriend. Lawton is in need of a female partner to help bring a big plan together. Jordan works his magic and you have the beginning of a new game.
I really enjoyed every moment of this book. Oaklee was not harsh and brash as Jordan led me to believe she would be but she was desperate and frantic searching for a way to solve her problem. Law on the other hand was the perfect gentleman in every way. Except in the sheets. Which is where it counts.
I loved watching these two connect and romance each other with their very personalities. There was very little relationship drama and what was present resolves itself pretty quickly. There is a ton of outside drama however and I never wanted to see someone get their comeuppance more than I did with this particular villain.
This is a fast paced, fun and sexy read that had some crossover from Huss’ previous works. I particularly loved that! You will not be lost if you haven’t read them but they are definitely the icing on the cake. And now to wait for Jordan’s story because holy gawd I’ve been waiting a long time!
Well, don’t read this in the car dealership. You’ll want to rub one out and you’ll be stuck in public with nowhere to go. It’s a hot little number. Oaklee and Lawton have chemistry. And I took chemistry in college, so I know what I’m talking about.
With that being said, this book has all the things you love and want from a JA Huss book. It’s the third book in Jordan’s Game. It also has some fun Easter eggs for long time fans, but if you aren’t one, you won’t get lost. It’s just a fun nod to the Shrikers who have been around. This book has hotness, sexy times, humor, and the characteristic nail biting that Huss is known for. I totes recommend.
This book was a fun read. It was a roller coaster ride on what side you should believe. This author can write. I love reading her books.
Lawton is a total sweetheart. Loved him the minute he was brought into the boyfriend experience game. Definitely loved every minute of his total sweetness. The surprises and a gentleman.
Oaklee is totally sassy and a biker babe. I just loved reading about these two. I loved them together. This book is sooooo good.
Lawton is a luxury real estate agent trying to get his real estate show on TV. He believes having a female partner will make that dream come true. Oaklee owns the Brewhouse, Bronco Brews, and is just the women he needs whether he realizes it or not. Oaklee needs a fake boyfriend but not for the reason Lawton thinks. It’s perfect! He needs a fake girlfriend. She needs a fake boyfriend. What could possibly go wrong? These are two very successful people & their strong personalities might clash but sometimes it works out better than you think! Can he help Oaklee with her little dilemma? Can Oaklee help him bag the TV show? Can they keep it professional or will they end up falling, for each other? Told in dual POV. Really great book as all of JA Huss’s books are.
How is it possible that this was my first J.A. Huss book?!?! Makes me wonder what the heck I’ve been missing all of this time. We have a very adorable Oaklee, a super hot Lawton, and a very interesting game. This was a very fun and unique story. It kept me entertained from the very beginning and held my attention all of the way to the end. I can hardly wait to check out more books by this author!
