What in the world did I do deserve this?
The boy next door doesn’t let me sleep.
And not just because he’s loud…
Jayson is a rockstar.
He’s as skilled as he is hot.
I never thought I’d be attracted to an alpha jerk like him.
But Jayson is all I ever think about.
I mean, what choice do I have, really?
We’re next door neighbors for goodness sake.
He’s always on my mind (and in my ears).
And … ears).
And now…
I’m carrying a piece of him.
I’m carrying his baby.
No, he can’t find out.
And no, I’m not saying a word about it to him.
Jayson and I are poles apart.
Our lives couldn’t be more different.
He should be on the road, leaving me behind.
Leaving my secret behind.
And me?
I should start preparing to mend my heart.
To raise a baby that will forever remind me of him.

This is my first time reading something by Ms. Black. It was a cute sort of enemies to lovers romance. The characters were relatable and realistic. Leah’s sassy attitude made for some fun scenes. There were times Jayson made me laugh as well, but I felt bad for him as secrets were kept from him. Overall I liked the book. It was an entertaining read and the storyline flowed nicely. I’m glad I gave it a try and I look forward to reading more from this author.

Jayson is a drummer in a rock band who lives in a duplex. Leah is the new tenant that resides in the other half of the duplex. They get off to a bad start as neighbors when Jayson plays his drums late at night keeping Leah awake. She works during the day as an accountant and needs to get her sleep. She knocks on his door in the middle of the night to tell him to stop playing his drums.
As they get to know each other their chemistry is explosive and they have some steamy hookups. Then Leah finds out the band is going on the road, so she leaves in the middle of the night as she doesn’t want him to give up on his dream. Jayson can’t believe that she’s gone. He loves her! You’ll have to read the book to find out what happens!
I loved this story. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
Jayson is the drummer in a band and they are hoping to hit it big. A few of his bandmates can’t keep off the booze long enough to play a song let alone play it right. He is frustrated, so when he gets home late one night the only thing that will help him to calm down is to play the drums. When he hears a knock on his door, he can’t figure out who it is because his neighbor is an old man that can’t hear. When he opens the door there is a sexy girl standing there and she is beyond mad.
Leah moved to L.A. for her dream job but when her neighbor wakes her up in the middle of the night playing his drums, she is going to give him a warning. And if that doesn’t work she is going to call the police. When the door opens there is a man standing there looking like sex on a stick.
Leah and Jayson can’t seem to get along, they need to work out a schedule when he can play his drums. Preferably when she is not asleep. As they spend time together the attraction grows. But neither wants to push the other.
Can Jayson show Leah that he is a down to earth guy? Will Leah tell Jayson her secret or will she run away? Can they make a future together if his band hits it big?
I wanted to love this story but it seemed to drag at times. Both characters were wishy-washy at times. It would get going good and then it would slow and start up again. It was like it was in rush hour traffic, stop and go, stop, and go. I did enjoy it though and this was a first for me from this author and I look forward to reading more from her.

A passionate and exciting read! It is engaging, well written, fast pace, and emotionally deep. There is drama, intrigue, ups and downs, and humour guaranteed to hold your interest from start to finish. The characters are likeable; the chemistry between them is hot. Definitely recommended! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy.
Jayson is a drummer and has always been able to practice in his own place ,but when knocking on his door a very mad woman Leah was not giving him any chance to keep practicing. The chemistry between them is off the chart but when something happens can either of them forgive each other or will it be to late? This book was absolutely good and kept me hooked from the beginning until the end and just loved the characters were storyline
Jayson, a drummer in a rock band, and Leah are neighbors. Leah just moved to LA for a job and when she meets Jayson sparks fly. This is a rockstar, falling for the next door neighbor with a surprise twist. Jayson and Leah are well developed likable characters and although it took a while for them together again it was well worth the read.
This was a good read. I didn’t much care for Leah. I didn’t much agree with some of her decisions. It just made me dislike her more.
The boy next door is a rockstar, Jayson, who plays the drums and practices late at night. Leah has issues with Jayson. This is a good book. I am not fond of the Leah character. She makes rash choices instead of considering the other people involved. Jayson wants to be with Leah if she will give him the chance.

Jayson is a rockstar, very skilled and not to mention that he is hot. Jayson and Leah are neighbors but Jayson won’t let Leah get any sleep at night and it bothers her. After giving into there attraction to each other Leah is left carrying a secret that will affect her and Jayson’s life forever. There lives are completely different and Leah is left wondering how this new found situation will affect there lives. The chemistry between Jayson is hot and intense. This was a great enemies to lovers romance.

Jayson and Leah have a tumultuous start to their journey. They are fueled by next door neighbour rage. Then they start to get to know each other. Things fire up quickly and their relationship is a bit up and down. Jayson gets the ultimate gig and Leah will not stand in his way and leaves town. Jayson does not understand why. What happens when their paths cross later? Can they make it work? Loved it. A great story!!
Once again, Ms. Natasha Black has impressed me with her release of The Boy Next Door. This woman has some serious talent.
Jayson is the drummer in a local LA band that is looking for their big break, however, it appears as though the band is falling apart and with it, Jayson’s patience too. That is until he meets his new neighbor, Leah. That’s when things really take a turn, and start to heat up in his personal life. Opposites definitely attract in this beautifully written book. Leah is new to the LA scene after having moved there from her small town. However Leah is no pushover, and if her noisy neighbor thinks for one moment she will put up with his drumming in the wee hours of the morning, he’s got another thing coming. So when she bangs on Jayson’s door at 2 a.m., guess who’s in for the shock of their lives… They both are. I highly recommend reading this enemies to lover’s romance, as together, they fight for their hard-won happily ever after. I was completely glued to my Kindle, reading every word carefully, as I watched their story playout.
I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced readers copy of The Boy Next Door in exchange for my honest and voluntarily given opinion. I don’t think there is a publication of Natasha’s yet, that I would not recommend.
Congratulations to Ms. Natasha Black for another wonderfully crafted romance.
Leah can’t sleep with that pounding coming from the other side of the duplex. She is an accountant and is new to L.A.. She goes over to make a complaint only to find Jayson, part of an up and coming band, shocked that he had a new neighbour. They don’t start off well but over time things begin to heat up, there is a lot of drama to overcome but their attraction is undeniable.
This is a contemporary romance with explicit sexual content. I think the characters were great, complete with problems and dreams. The emotional rollercoaster is caused by insecurities, immaturity, and trying to cope with a volatile situation. The narrative is good and describes the steamy and non sex scenes very well. The storyline flows along smoothly and at a good rate. This was a good book. If you like steamy hot romances set in the rock scene then you will certainly enjoy this one.
For me, the blurb kind of made me think I was getting a slightly different story than what this book actually is. Secret baby really isn’t my thing, but I am a huge fan of all the drama and angst of enemies-to-lovers. I was very happy to discover that that was what made up the majority of this book; seeing their chemistry in action, watching the sparks fly, and getting to witness Leah and Jayson fall for one another. The secret baby piece of this story was my least favorite part. Not only does it have our heroine hiding the truth, but it also contains one of my other pet peeves: the self-sacrificing character that breaks both their hearts for “the good of” the other person. The revelation scene was a bit too anti-climatic, however it led to a perfectly adorable epilogue. In spite of my reservations about some parts of the story, overall, I really enjoyed it. And now I want stories about the rest of the band.

Leah moves next door to Jayson who plays drums for a up and coming band and he usually plays at night where she needs her sleep because she works 9-5. When she finally goes to speak to him about it the sparks fly and before you know it these opposites are very attracted. Just when he band is their big break she finds out that she is pregnant and decides not to tell him because his life is music and she does not want to ruin his dreams. When they are on tour another band mate sees her and makes her tell him about the baby. Liked to story and the characters but not a fan of withholding a baby secret.
Hmmmm….. music is suppose to bring us together, right? When the boy next door is oblivious to his neighbor, he rather loudly drums his way into her life. And, lets just say she doesn’t appreciate it. Yes, this is an opposites attract storyline but it’s so much more. She’s one of those 9-5 gals while he’s a night owl. She’s a numbers girl, an accountant, and he’s a guy that looks to the stars…. aiming to make it big with his band… literally making it loud and clear.
Problem is, he keeps her awake at night while drumming away. She makes it known that his nighttime ‘gig’ is not going to work … she needs her sleep and is not going to put up with his loud ways. Confrontation leads to neighborly love, which leads to a whole lot more. Sparks fly, chemistry is intense and just as he’s getting his big break, she gets her own big news and stages her own act. It’s called disappearing.

A great story, Ms Black!! It’s a sweet and steamy romance that brings out all the feels. Jayson and Leah are the type to burrow into your heart. The story is intriguing, the characters are flawed and the chemistry is on fire. The ending will definitely meet the HEA. Would I recommend it: YES.
I have voluntarily read and reviewed this advanced readers copy for my honest opinion.
For a short book it was cute if not a little underwhelming. For me there was too much inner monologue not enough dialogue between characters which is a personal preference of mine I NEED to feel and be able to see the relationship growing I just didn’t get that feeling. The writing was good and there were some sweet and funny lines that I liked.

The story was good and had a good flow. The character work was good (better than some I see these days). This was a fun read that kept me entertained until the end.

The Loud Mc Hotty Next Door….
by and1515
Jayson thrived on music he was willing to put everything into their band he was determined they were going to succeed but as he watched his two band mates at the bar this was becoming a regular occurrence.
Leigh’s neighbor was the worst ever the after midnight confrontation was enough proof Jayson certainly knew how to drive her crazy even if he did max out the mc hotty scale.
They certainly knew how to embrace the idiom in for penny in for a pound fully hearty until she flakes out and everything takes a downward spiral from there.
Jayson tried to make things better with Carter but it was the same old response to the same old patterns. He knew things were getting worse and Jayson had no idea how to fix it.
But life has a way of surprising you and now things were looking up for them but Jayson was still trying to figure out how to make everything work.
Leigh was torn so she’d kept quiet Jayson had been working so hard there was no way she was going to standing in the way of his dreams.
