Jessica and Owen Nobles are heartbroken over the loss of their son, Jacob. Jessica has taken his death especially hard, spending the past three years sedated and under the care of a psychiatrist. Desperate to save his wife, Owen moves the couple to Florida, hoping a change in scenery will remind her how to live again. When Jessica begins to see a small boy in the upstairs window of the abandoned … abandoned home next door, she goes to investigate, only to find the house empty. Afraid that she may be seeing things, Jess does an internet search on the home’s address. What she finds is an image of the boy from the window—a boy that’s been missing more than thirteen years.
Reluctant to tell her husband, Jessica sets out to find what information she can on the child’s disappearance. Yet, someone is going to great lengths to stop her.
To make matters worse, bodies begin dropping around her like flies. And she’s the prime suspect in the killings. If Jessica doesn’t back off now, she risks losing more than just her mind…she could very well lose her life.

The Boy in the Window
A Psychological Thriller
By: Ditter Kellen
Narrated by: Johnny Mack
This is an audible book I requested and the review is voluntary. I made the mistake of starting this book late in the evening. Once I started it I had to finish it, there was no pausing this story! It grabbed me and then I hung on to every word! Intense! If you like a good mystery, throw in harmless ghosts, psychics, romance, murder, lots of suspects, unpredictable situations and plot, well developed characters, chilling suspense, and more then this is the book for you!
The narrator was perfect for this book too! Loved it!
This is a great story that quickly drew me in and kept me turning the pages. Tide story is interesting, the characters intriguing ad complex, and a surprise or two that kept me guessing. A great story.
A young couple moves to Florida with the hope of a fresh start. While moving into their new house, Jessica begins to see a little boy in the window of her neighbors house. This leads her into a missing child case over 13 years old and has her questioning her sanity and her relationship with her husband Owen.
A suspense thriller that has you questioning all of the characters. The story also deals with the lost of a young child. The process that Jessica goes through is heart wrenching. Was able to read the story within a day, had to find out what happened to the missing boy and if Jessica gets her happy ending.

Intense psychological thriller!
While it is a genre I frequently read, not the fun fantasy romance I am used to from this author- which makes it even more impressive with its wicked twists
I’m pleased to have discovered the grittier collection of titles from Ditter Kellen – love a good read that makes you want to keep reading
The love and grief of a mother are very powerful . She is a strong woman who follows her heart and instincts to try and help what she perceives as a child in need, even while she is unsure if the threat is as unreal as many of those around her seem to think
Powerful heartache, heartbreak and limited bits of hope

Wow, the more I read by this author the more I never know what to expect. I really enjoyed this one. So many red herrings that I never knew what was coming and whodunnit.
I was so into this book from beginning to end. I was so glad that I was home from work and decided to read the end in bed. Break out the tissues, I don’t know how many times I get caught out on the train fogging up with glass with tears.
Brilliant story line and great characters…and the ending, wow again.
I could not put this book down! Highly recommend it!
The author spins a complex web with so many twists and turns that I was sitting on the edge of my seat with bated breath as I waited for her to tie everything together. I couldn’t help but feel for Jessica and Owen who lost their son. Years later and Jessica is still reeling from the loss that devastated her life. Moving was supposed to be a new start, but best laid plans often go askew, and this is one of those times. This is a brilliant plot that is wonderfully written.

What a ride!
After losing her son, Jessica has been a walking zombie for the past 3 years. She’s let herself go as well as her relationship with her husband slip. Owen is unwilling to let her kill herself under the guilt and loss she feels so he suggests a move to Florida in the hopes that a new place will help Jessica overcome the past and look towards the future they still have.
However, things seem to take a turn for the worst when Jessica starts acting weird once again and claiming she’s seeing a boy in the abandon house across the street…a little boy that went missing 13 years ago.
I absolutely enjoyed reading this book. From the minute Jessica started down the rabbit hole to discover what happened to the little boy I was constantly trying to guess who did what. I didn’t want to suspect the “obvious” person, but…
Pick up this book to discover if the obvious person had anything to do with Terry’s disappearance.
This book is spectacular! I was drawn in from the start to the finish! It had so many twists and turns. And the ending I didn’t see coming at all! Hit me from outta left field and threw me for a loop! The characters were so real. This is my first book from this author and I will definitely be reading more!
this book was kinda scary! she lost her son years ago. now its time to move to make things better. only now she is seeing a boy in the neighbors window. people are dropping like flies and all fingers point to her. will she be next? read to find out.
3 years Jessica and Owen lost their only son when a drunk driver killed him. As expected both of them grieve in different ways, Jessica uses medication, alcohol to numb the pain. Owen holds it in hope to be strong Jessica but nothing is working. When Owen gets an offer for a new job away in a new state and after awhile Jessica agrees to move. But when she starts seeing a boy at the window of their new home, Lots of twists and turns in this book and you’ll be surprised at what happens. I wasn’t sure I would like this book but found myself engrossed in it and couldn’t it down
100% enjoyed listening to this romantic psychological whodunit thriller. Author Kellen is new to me, but I can see myself reading more stories written by her.
If you’re seeking a well-structured psychological thriller look no further than Ms. Kellen’s latest novel.
It starts with the sort of tragedy no parent wants to contemplate, and ends with a clever twist. But in between it’s an amazing inner struggle story of a mother’s concerns being ignored and a father doing his level best to cope with the worst possible loss. In that sense, it’s truly “psychological”–a parent’s inner battle to move on with their lives however they can, and is very well written.
I highly recommend this book to anyone seeking the sort of novel that draws you in, makes you truly feel what the characters are feeling, and then ends in a way you will NOT expect. Pick this one up for a quick read, with a story you won’t soon forget. 4.5 stars
Audio Review
This is my first book by this author and I already have some more!
The story starts out with a grieving mother and how her relationship with her husband Owen is falling apart.
He has a new job and reluctantly she moves. There is a house beside them empty and she keeps seeing a boy in the window and blacking out drawing pictures of him in different places.
The book deals with loss and I can really relate to the characters just losing my fifteen-year-old granddaughter. The author handles this emotion well and we see Owen trying to be strong and hide his emotions for his wife. Then things get crazy and the supernatural twist is just the first. there are several twists, lots of suspects and I did not want to stop listening once I started.
Johnny Mack did a great job narrating. I thank him for not using squeaky or weird female voices, though he does soften his enough you know it is a female speaking.
I highly recommend this book if you like psychological thrillers, ghosts (harmless ones) a touch of romance and a shocking end.
I really enjoyed this book. The author did an outstanding job on the story and characters. The book was suspenseful and I didn’t want to put it down. A really great thriller that I highly recommend.

4.5 out of 5 stars
After Jessica and Owen Nobles loose their son they are so heartbroken Jessica has taken the loss so hard that she was sedated and under a psychiatrist for over three years . They have lost each other . When Owen decides to move them to Florida hoping Jessica will come to terms with the death and start to learn to live again. But once in Florida Jessica sees an young boy in the window of the empty house next store which sends her on a mission to find out who the boy is . What lengths will she go to to solve the mystery . What is she willing to give up .
The characters what can i say about them they are well written and complex . Jessica well she is a mess , she is blaming herself for her son’s death and it is taking a toll on her. When we first meet her She is hurting and you really just want to wrap her up and hug her and tell her everything will be ok . After she moves to Florida you actually see her start to change and become a very strong character . She finally has a mission that will keep her going and maybe actually grow up and out of the depresssion she is in. With Owen we see a man just trying to hold it together for both he and his wife. He is strong but also so flawed , he doesn’t trust his wife and he needs a good shake to wake him up . They are such a damaged couple but they grow and they will grow on you . There are so many other characters in the book that you will love to hate . You just don’t know who you can trust and who is the evil ones .
I sat down and started reading wondering how the author was going to attack the thriller genre. I must say that when i started reading I was like ok this is good but as soon as i said ok i am liking this book . Boom the author does a twist that has me on the edge of my seat going holy what the heck was that . Trust me the author threw a bunch of twists and turns that will keep you reading . The story is actually plausible and it could happen in real life , I mean missing children, murder and the aftermath of the loss of a child . The characters are believable and you will love them or hate them you will make you mind up as you read . So if you want a really good thriller that will have you on the edge of your seat all the way through. This is the book for you . You will be sucked in and taken on the ride of your life . Check it out .
This was a good mystery/murder/ thriller story. First time reading anything from Ditter Kellon and this was a safe read. Good characters, good story but nothing extraordinarily happens. Wasn’t disappointed, wasn’t thrilled, just entertained. And I supposed that’s what the author set out to do, she succeeded!
