Nina Borg, a Red Cross nurse, wife, and mother of two, is a compulsive do-gooder who can’t say no when someone asks for help — even when she knows better. When her estranged friend Karin leaves her a key to a public locker in the Copenhagen train station, Nina gets suckered into her most dangerous project yet. Inside the locker is a suitcase, and inside the suitcase is a three-year-old boy: naked … naked and drugged, but alive.
Is the boy a victim of child trafficking? Can he be turned over to authorities, or will they only return him to whoever sold him? When Karin is discovered brutally murdered, Nina realizes that her life and the boy’s are in jeopardy, too. In an increasingly desperate trek across Denmark, Nina tries to figure out who the boy is, where he belongs, and who exactly is trying to hunt him down.

Great read.
Good book
Very captivating book.
I tried, but I just couldn’t get into this book. The characters were a bit of a jumble and no one seemed very “nice.” I finally gave up and quit reading it.
Awful. Don’t bother.
I thought it was a little out there. Yes it could happen I suppose, but real believable.
Too many other books to read to waste time trying to keep up with the confusing characters and timeline. Good premise , just needs more development. I quit half way thru it.
Good, exciting, but a few too many holes in the plot for full enjoyment.
I couldn’t put it down, even with the Danish to English translation oddities, it was a gripping and suspenseful story!
Too often the right thing to do is always the easiest.
but for Jan Marquart, a very powerful and rich
business man this is the unthinkable. He plots and
deceives to get the results he wants. In the end
almost destroying the one thing he has tried to
save…
It was a good read and a little different plot.
Twists and turns! Keeps you interested.
Interesting
Set in Denmark, so sometimes a little hard to follow without a frame of reference.
a little too convoluted and tiresome
Couldn’t get started. Early chapters are each a fragment of the story as experienced by a different person. No way I was going to remember all the pieces later on.
Very entertaining read!
Really a great book
good addition to the Jack Reacher and Girl with the Dragon Tattoo genre
Predictable ending but a good story line.
