Nina Borg, a Red Cross nurse, wife, and mother of two, is a compulsive do-gooder who can’t say no when someone asks for help — even when she knows better. When her estranged friend Karin leaves her a key to a public locker in the Copenhagen train station, Nina gets suckered into her most dangerous project yet. Inside the locker is a suitcase, and inside the suitcase is a three-year-old boy: naked … naked and drugged, but alive.
Is the boy a victim of child trafficking? Can he be turned over to authorities, or will they only return him to whoever sold him? When Karin is discovered brutally murdered, Nina realizes that her life and the boy’s are in jeopardy, too. In an increasingly desperate trek across Denmark, Nina tries to figure out who the boy is, where he belongs, and who exactly is trying to hunt him down.

It took me 100 pages to get into it but was worth it; Intriguing.
It takes a bit to get into this book but the story grips and holds you. A good read if you like foreign mysteries.
all of the characters had interesting stories to tell. I worried about them to the very end
Well–written and gripping. It was unlike anything else I’ve read, except for her second book which I picked up and read immediately after! I plan to read more.
Well wrirren. Kept me wanting to read on. Would read this author again (and probably again)
I had to really work hard to get an idea of the characters, it was depressing, and I didn’t finish it.
I finished this book simply because I don’t like to leave things unfinished. That said, it was difficult to read at times. The rather disjointed stories are too forced. The authors want to stimulate readers to keep reading by creating mini-cliff-hangers that just don’t work. The erratic switching from one part of the story to the other …
Started off interesting and intriguing then began rambling and became boring less then halfway.
I started reading this book but quit after a few pages…too pornographic, too much human trafficking. Never reading anything by this author again.
Boy, was this novel different! Seems as though something like this could never be possible but it certainly made an exciting story. Hard to put down. Lots of action!
I never got interested orientated in the story at 100 pages and quit.
Somewhat hard to follow for he first third of the book. Was disappointed with it but cannot put a book down that I have started.
I found the book difficult to follow. Could not relate to the characters.
Eye opening story of human trafficking . A reminder of how fortunate we are.
It was a little challenging to keep the charters straight at first, but I couldn’t put it down!
I am having a very hard time getting into this book. I want to finish it just to find out the ending but it is just not a book that I run to.
Stopped reading fast. Foul language was immediate turn off
Strangely written. Weird concept and bazaar ending. But, kept me reading til the end!
Unexpected twists and turns.
Great book. I couldn’t put it down.
