Nina Borg, a Red Cross nurse, wife, and mother of two, is a compulsive do-gooder who can’t say no when someone asks for help — even when she knows better. When her estranged friend Karin leaves her a key to a public locker in the Copenhagen train station, Nina gets suckered into her most dangerous project yet. Inside the locker is a suitcase, and inside the suitcase is a three-year-old boy: naked … naked and drugged, but alive.
Is the boy a victim of child trafficking? Can he be turned over to authorities, or will they only return him to whoever sold him? When Karin is discovered brutally murdered, Nina realizes that her life and the boy’s are in jeopardy, too. In an increasingly desperate trek across Denmark, Nina tries to figure out who the boy is, where he belongs, and who exactly is trying to hunt him down.

Slow start and found character development initially difficult to follow.
It really kept my interest throughout with a few twists and I didn’t want it to end
Although the characters were not developed to acquire empathy from the reader, the topic and main idea haunts the reader as the horrific reality is prevalent in modern times.
Didn’t care for the story line at all.
This was a very confusing book; hard to keep track of the characters. I would not read another by this author.
The kind you just can’t put down
Kept my interest. I couldn’t stop reading. Very good.
This was an interesting book, but a little hard to keep up with because it jumped around a lot and because of the unfamiliar Nordic and European names. I still thought it was a good book, very different, and I would recommend it.
I liked how this book moved through the story, keeping my interest throughout.
Good Nordic thriller
Every so often a novel comes along that’s just so good to read. The characters pulled me in.
Too hard to keep track of characters with strange sounding names.
Sometimes hard to follow the characters with close names in the beginning
But a good read
A must read
Great read
I am reading it now and am almost to the end and so far it has been great.
Great read. Interesting characters.
