Camilla Powers (Boone Cassidy’s widowed sister from Wanted: Bounty Hunter) has traveled all the way to Silverpines, Oregon from Louisiana and arrived just in time for Boone and Rachel’s wedding. She’s brought with her their sassy southern Mama, her own precious four-year-old, Lucy, and a sizable chip on her shoulder against the uppity ways of rich folks. She’s poor, proud, and southern and has no … no plans of changing. Until a shady fellow from the bayou shows up in town, threatening everyone and everything she holds dear…
At Boone’s insistence, she lingers in Silverpines for their collective safety — long enough, as it turns out, for Lucy to become the darling of the Silverpines Finishing School for Young Ladies. What’s even worse than Lucy’s swift transformation into a proper young debutante is the way Camilla finds herself inexplicably attracted to the big, rugged, and not-so-socially polished Schmidt Barnes, Boone’s partner from his bounty hunting days. He’s been called into town to help them investigate the growing threats against her and Lucy. Why doesn’t anyone besides her seem to recognize the threats the brawny gunslinger poses to her proud and independent heart?

I truly enjoyed this sweet short story about Boone Cassidy’s sister Camilla. Her heart has been hurt losing her husband. Her four year old daughter Lucy is loving being a part of the finishing school created by Boone’s wife Rachel.
Camilla and Boone’s mother traveled to Silverpines Oregon to attend Boone and Rachel’s wedding and have remained.
She receives a threatening telegram, so Boone takes over and brings his former partner Schmidt Barnes to town.
Danger, trust and love all come into play. Will Camilla let her heart heal enough to let Schmidt in? Will Schmidt be able to break through and make a play for Camilla’s heart? This is a must read. Jo Grafford writes enchanting stories that steal your heart and take you away from the doldrums to a magical day.
I received an ARC of this book and am choosing to write an honest review.
The only thing Schmidt wants is to convince his friend Boone to go back to bounty hunting. When Boone asks him for help the got the opportunity for that, until he meets Camilla, Boone’s sister again and her daughter Lucy. Keeping them save is now his priority.
Really entertaining story. Nice to catch up with characters of earlier books.
Boone and Schmidt have been friends, bounty hunters and partners for many years. When Boone’s sister, Camilla, is threatened, Boone calls in Schmidt for her protection. Like most women, Camilla thinks she can handle the situation without anyone’s help until she is proven wrong one night. Sparks do fly between Camilla and Schmidt. Jo Grafford gives us humor, intrigue, romance, strong characters and an interesting story line, all in one book. I recommend this book.
Loved this book!! It was great to read about Boone’s sister and best friend getting together!! Love that Camille is a strong woman in her own right, and Schmidt is as great as Boone! I personally want to read more about them!!
The Bounty Hunter’s Sister is a exciting story that will keep you entertained the entire book. There is suspense and danger creeping around in the dark of the Silverpines Finishing School For Young Ladies. The masked man was there to kidnap Camilla’s young daughter. She was being set up from someone back home who had found where they were visiting. Boone knew he would need help to protect his sister and niece, but the other girls at the school has to be safe also. He calls in his partner and Schmidt does not spare no time in coming. With Schmidt and Boone both on the job, Camilla feels safe but she is not scared to use a gun if needed. Nothing shy about the life of a bounty hunter sister!
I absolutely loved Camilla and Schmidt’s story! At first glance you would never think they would go together but that’s what is so great about books, and life really! Hearts choose what they want, sometimes overriding the brain! Camilla comes to Silverpines with her darling daughter, Lucy in tow as a widow but doesn’t plan to stay there. She is just visiting her brother and new sister-in-law for their wedding. However, various things happen to thwart that plan, including someone who is threatening them. Schmidt Barnes is a man who is rough around the edges but he’s been her brother’s partner in the bounty hunting business for year. Camilla’s brother calls him into town to check into the threats. He and Camilla clash a lot but soon, a sparkle of friendship and admiration begins to grow, and then more! What will come of these threats? Will Camilla and her daughter be able to leave Silverpines or will they decide to stay and make a life with the confirmed bachelor, Schmidt? A wonderful story!
Very enjoyable! Sweet and romantic with a no nonsense heroine.
