Take care of her.
She was trouble wrapped up in a gorgeous package, but I wanted to wrap her in my arms. Soothe her worries, calm her fears, show her what it felt like to let go.
The fire between us ignited. But as the walls burned down around me, I’d be forced to choose between the life I’d always known, and the love of my life.

It was repetitive in the beginning but it got better. The suspense will keep you wanting more. This story is better than the first one. I hope it continues to get better and I encourage people to stick it out. I felt like not finishing this book but I’m so glad I did.
The passion burned brighter than the sun.
Their chemistry was shocking and electric
Their love was forbidden
So the push and pull was the answer
Until they had to put it all on the line

4.5 stars
The second book in the series and I just became more captivated by this world that the author created.
A dark romance full of swoon-worthy characters, angst, twists and turns as well as unmistakable chemistry and steamy romance scenes that kept me up for a good long night.
If you love strong female characters and a great love story this book is definitely for you.

What a way to be introduced to Ellie Isaacson. I saw this cover and I was game. I did not even know this was her debut series. Keep up the work lady! You have a reader for life. I will admit the cover model threw me off and I did not pay attention to (#2), whoops. So I will pick up #1 now.
In The Boss we get Natalia and Diesel and dang their chemistry is electric. The kind that will electrocute you if you touch it the wrong way. These 2 are tragically emotionally broken so all they know is to stay strong do not show any weakness. Do not depend on anyone. Natalia gives as good as she gets. She kind of reminds me of Beth Dutton from the Yellowstone series. Family is everything no matter how they piss you off and do not cross her family or she will take you out.
So many past demons chase both Natalia and Diesel which is a constant battle but sometimes you need someone who understands demons to understand you. I highly recommend reading Hitman (book 1) first, which I plan on doing now. This is a gripping, suspenseful, mafia romance at it’s best. I cannot wait for more from Ellie Isaacson.
I am not sure that I even know where to begin writing a review for this because it is truly an awesome experience.
I loved everything about it – the characters, the plot, the emotion, the writing.
The author had a tremendous ability in telling the story that had me wanting this book to go on and on.

This was an excitement filled love story with tons of action and a fast moving plot line.
This was a great heart pounding read. The story was very well written with great characters. The story drew me in and I had it finished in one sitting. I would highly recommend this read.
This is my first time reading anything by this author. The story centers on Natalia and Diesel, both are strong characters who have depth to them. There are some possible triggers in this story so please be aware of that. It’s a great story and I’m looking forward to reading more from this author.

Diesel and Natalia story is captivating. It’s got the intrigue, characters who give you the drama and are not afraid to get in your face about it.
The storytelling is brilliant. It’s vivid and detailed enough to get you fully invested to the point that you’d neglect all else to be absorbed in their dark world.
I have not had the honor to read other books from Ellie but I’ll tell you if they are half as good as THE BOSS than I am there!! I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.
Natalia is a strong woman hell bent on revenge, she is tough, a bit broken and insecure about her emotions and feelings. Diesel was horribly abused as a kid and has emotional scars and due to circumstances he does not have a place in the world to belong. Diesel and Natalia together is like a flame and gasoline, two broken souls hiding their feelings and emotions from the world, he irritates and annoys her, she makes him crazy. I loved the passion and chemistry between them. The characters are well developed, strong and the storyline and underlying plot well developed and smooth. This book has a HEA but the underlying plot continues. There are triggers of child abuse, rape and beatings in the book, some of it very graphic.

Ellie Isaacson did a great job on this dark story. The Boss had a strong well written plot that was packed with several different emotions, the story was suspenseful and action packed. Natalia and Diesel were strong characters, their journey was a rollercoaster, they went through many ups and downs. They were drawn to each other, their chemistry was strong, they were good together.
I enjoyed this story. Thanks, Ellie Isaacson. Good work 🙂
The story line was good, the character work was terrific and the book had a fairly smooth flow to it. This was a great addition to the series and kept me entertained from beginning to end.

Will This is one DARK romance
First thing first, Triggers…Not trying for spoilers just telling you what I encountered when I read this story.——— We have underage teen girls gang raped, murders, domestic violence, child abuse to near death, kidnapping and elderly abused.
Will Natalia have a chase of heart and start feeling less hatred and more love for her family?
Will Diesel ever be free from his past?
I believe this story should have come before Yanny’s story with Lia, since this one started to take place years before when Diesel was saved from the streets by Jet and introduce him to Mateo who then brought him into the Medina’s family. The first time Natalia heard and saw Diesel she didn’t want some stranger there, and her hatred ran hard until Lia’s hit contract came in, then her hatred ran like a wildfire never stopping and uncontrollable. When Nat heard what Lia went through her anger wasn’t just her sharing the blood and the last name but what Lia and herself went through by the hands of the Silva’s. As I was saying about this should be the first is for the timelines but when Lia was at her friends house at the end of her story, Nat and Diesel was preparing to take down Lia’s uncle and his human trafficking with Nat’s cousin/ best friend Rolly. (Spoiler, Instead that actually accidentally take down the head of the family, Lia’s disgusting father)
Diesel isn’t the player we thought in book 1, he’s as broken as any victim, his love of fire started as a kid, he took his first life as a kid and covered it up with his first fire as a kid. The child abuse I mentioned is Diesel, he was an unwanted child to a prostitute, a punching bag & a nuisance to her pimp. His angel A.G. saved his life and his life will be supporting her with any cash he makes to keep her living as he gets older and surviving to live on the streets while he pays for her home. At first I was believing that Diesel had a woman he was with and couldn’t love Nat but actually A.G. is a woman who is like a mother/ grandmotherly to Diesel… so he’s NOT with anyone else. But he’s been in hiding for a long time, is still homeless-ish Ives in a rotting trailer he keeps hidden.
If you read book 1 you would remember when Diesel up and disappeared for a while and then comes back with no explanation? Well we still don’t really know where he went, I read that time in this story and I still don’t get much since he to disappears In this one and noPOV for him either. But it took his disappearance for Nat to see what that man means to her but also leaves questions instead of answers about his background. His background isn’t the only this that hidden behind secrecy but the same can be said about Nat, what her secret that she’s don’t tell anyone but only her blood brothers and possibly G know….. speaking of G, well Nat did a number on him too…
Thinking about book 3 I believe that one will be the baby brother Mateo and the daughter of Nat’s ‘Uncle D’Angelo’ possibly thinking.m

Very gripping captivating book.
Natalia and Diesel are both broken spirits and sadness grips their heart.
But that by no means is any indication they are weak or have had the fight drained from them.
On the contrary Diesel and especially Natalia are more determined and more strength because of it.
The resolve and drive to get their justice is what gives them confidence in themselves to see things through.
I liked Natalia’s strength and her courage.
I just wished at times she was a bit softer.
I loved Diesel.
I thought he was patient and loyal.
He was well balanced in his sense of his morals.
Punished those that deserved it.
Yet kindhearted and giving of himself one hundred percent to those that showed him kindness.
Natalia and Diesel were combustible together.
Their arguments are heated.
And their sexual connection is sizzling.
The most incredible thing though is how they heal and repair each other’s broken pieces.
They are the perfect fit and match for one another.
But their journey isn’t without tribulations.
Theirs is filled with drama, heartache and suspense.
But also the feel of hope and of them finding some sort of peace is present as well.
I love the intensity of the writing.
Ms. Isaacson kept me on the edge of my seat and biting my nails throughout the story.
I’m looking forward to the next book.
This is a new to me author with this series and I was not disappointed. I loved the stories and the characters and hope for many more.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The thing that normally makes me happy is the chance to read the second book from a series that I love.
It is exciting to receive a new book, knowing that the first one was intense.
Oh boy.
So many things that I loved and a lot of questions that I was left with.
Ellie Isaacson knows the perfect way to write a mafia book. Her writing is raw and wild, sassy, and dangerous with a touch of hotness.
The Boss is her latest release and it’s the second book from The Hitman series.
But I advise you to read The Hitman first. Do it and you’ll understand this new book better.
This new book explores the lives of Diesel and Natalia.
Diesel lost everything until Jet gave him a family. He’ll do everything to protect his family but he can’t take Natalia out of his head.
When he’s given the task to protect her…
Natalia is one tough cookie. She’s feisty and doesn’t take shi*** from anyone.
She loves her family intensely and will do everything she can to protect them. But when her brother “orders” her to stay put with the protection of Diesel…
Dayum… Just Dayum… What a book.
Perfect plot, well written, super engaging, and intense.
The entire book was wrapped in a cloud of darkness and mystery.
Each chapter made it impossible for me to put the book down. One minute things were in a way and they took a turn to the worst.
Scene after scene made me hooked and I couldn’t stop reading.
There were parts of the story that I wanted to slap someone silly. Jeez. Stubborn like hell.
But then there were others that I wanted to hold them tight and never let go.
These two had their demons to chance away and sometimes that was impossible to achieve.
Grey worked perfectly together despite the pain the shared.
This book not only has some raw scenes but also some hot stuff as well. Oh boy… Hot hot hot.
Now I’m curious about the next book.
Great book Ellie. You nailed it and it was great to see my questions being answered.
Can’t wait for the next book. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This is book two in the Hitman Series. It does involve two different main characters and runs sorta the same-time as does the Hitman book one. I am torn of you need to read book one first since I did. I think you probably could read this one first, but I think you may understand it just a bit better if you read in order.
This is Natalia and Diesel’s story. Natalia helps run the business that is hers and her brothers. She takes and finds the hits for her brothers though she is well trained for trouble herself. They do the hits to sustain themselves but they are mainly looking for a certain family.. the Silva’s that caused them grief more than once in the past. This is Natalia’s revenge for a secret she holds from the past. Diesel has his own secrets. He is a man with no past that can be found and a secret of his own. He was intrigued with Natalia the moment they met, but Natalia hated him from the moment he was brought into her family…Or did she?
I really loved this story. I didn’t think I would like it as much as Yanny and Lia in the first book, but I was looking forward to finding out Diesel’s story and why he disappears so much. I ended up really liking Natalia and we got lots of new characters in this book as well. I like crime family and hitman books because they are not the same sweet romance I usually read. This book is well written and has lots of twists and turns. There is lots of excitement and heat, though there is lots of violence as well. My only issues are that there is a lot of foreign languages used and not all of it is translated making me wonder what was said. If you like enemies to lovers, tough characters, hitmen, crime families, don’t mind violence and like lots of hot sex, this is for you!
I was really looking forward to getting to know Natalia and Diesel. After all, in the first book of the series, she was nothing but attitude and anger. And he was all charm and swagger. I knew there was more to each of them and was eager to get their stories.
I liked them both. They were all fire and their bite was as mean as their bark. But Diesel had a tender side. A vulnerable side. A side that wouldn’t let him get too close, because he knew loss. So did Natalia. And they both let it fuel them. Drive them to see revenge and justice however they deemed fit.
For me, there was too much overlap in the events happening here and the first book. Then all of a sudden it was all Natalia and Diesel sharing their painful and tragic pasts. I wanted more of that time with them together breaking down their walls and bonding without the drama. But then again, they wouldn’t have been in those close quarters to begin with without all the danger.
The final third of The Boss had my heart racing. I knew it wasn’t going to end well and I was right. I just didn’t see things taking that drastic turn. I liked the twist Ellie Isaacson threw into the mix. The new players she introduced added to the overall dangerousness and mystery of the series. I’m I’m anxious to see what demons this family faces next.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.
Natalia. I hated him from the moment I first saw him. Those bright blue eyes brought reminders of my biggest regret, my greatest loss, the think that tortured me and he me struggling for control. Each time I pushed him, he pushed back. Each time he touched me, something in my broke. He would be the death of me, bit I couldn’t stop it.
Diesel. Her brothers brought me into their family. Gave me the one thing I needed more than anything else. Then they asked me to do something I wasn’t sure I could. Take care of her. She was trouble wrapped up in a gorgeous package, but I wanted to wrap her in my arms. Soothe her worries, calm her fears, show her what it felt like to let go. The fire between us ignited. This is the second book in this series. I haven’t read The Hitman but I highly suggest that you do. This is one of those series where you have to read the books in order to fully understand the plot and what it really going on but about a different interconnected couple. This is the reason my rating is three stars. What I did get about the book was good. But I couldn’t help but feel the entire time that I was really missing out on somethings that anyone who has read the first book probably already know. As for the characters Diesel and Natalia they are going to put you through the wringer. These are two broken but strong characters who need to heal desperately but only start doing that when they come together. They are better and stronger together than they are apart. They had some serious heat between them and I just know that I would have loved this book if I had read The Hitman. Don’t make my mistake and start with the first book. You don’t want to be lost like me or be saying what exactly is going on all the way through the book and closing it more confused than satisfied.
The Boss by Ellie Isaacson is the 2nd book in The Hitman Series. I have read the previous book which I do think you should do before starting this one. This is the story of Natalia and Diesel. Natalia and Diesel both are broken people who are dealing poorly with their past. But each time they face off with one another a spark gets brighter between them. This book and series has been a really exciting read. I do plan on reading more from this author.
I loved this book. The author had me hooked from the very beginning. The development of the story was amazing and it made you seem like you were part of the crew. Diesel and Natalie are amazing together.
Diesel is living in his car and getting food from a local funeral home when his life changes. He is now involved with the Medina family, working as a hitman. He is doing what he can to provide for his adoptive mother.
Natalie is not only a member of the Medina family but she is the one who gets all the jobs and picks which the family takes. She is the one in charge of everything. When Diesel comes home with her brother, she hates him. But Natalie soon realized that there is a very thin line between love and hate. She realizes that when Diesel is not around she worries about him and misses him.
This is a definite most read.
