Allie Sutton just got a new job.Not one she wants, and definitely not one she’s prepared for. She hadn’t seen her dad in years, so the last thing she expects upon his sudden death is to inherit the thing he loved more than anything (or anyone) … the professional football team he owned for the last twenty years.Luke Pierson does not want a new boss. What he wants is to be a good father to his … be a good father to his daughter, the best quarterback possible for his teammates. What he doesn’t need is a blonde bombshell ruining the team’s chances at another championship. Especially when that bombshell turns out to be his new neighbor. The neighbor he was a complete jerk to the first time they met.
For the sake of the team, they treat each other like complete professionals. In public, at least. Behind closed doors, it’s a different story. And the fallout of giving in to that heat is something neither one of them can see coming.

I was really anxious about reading something new by Karla Sorensen. I truly loved the Bachelors of the Ridge so much and was sad to move on. BUT, I’m so happy to announce that I absolutely loved this book!
The writing was everything I’ve come to know and love from Ms. Sorensen. An awesome story with great characters. Everything was well told and I loved how fierce Allie was. She was a new player in a male dominated industry and she did not let that stop her at all. She is a great role model for women!
And Luke Pierson…can you really say anything bad about an awesome single dad who just wants to protect his daughter. I loved how he loved with his whole heart and once Allie got under his skin, he couldn’t stop his feelings for her.
This enemies to lovers story was a slow burn with so much chemistry that you just know that they would ignite the pages and that they did. Such a great read! Loved it!
5 PHENOMENAL STARS!! This story is perfection with feels, humor, sexiness and fantastic characters. Allie and Luke’s story is addicting, you can’t put it down. The author puts the right ingredients for a delicious story that you will devour it in one sitting. I can’t wait to read more in this series. Do yourself a favor and 1-click this book.
I keep falling more and more in love with Karla Sorensen’s writing every time I read a book by her. She has this way of making characters I’m on the fence about become so true to life that I end up LOVING them. Usually one to cheer for the underdog nerdy girl a bombshell (and Allie is exactly that) is not the typical character I’m drawn to, but wouldn’t you know? I adored Allie.
She’s so much more than her gorgeous exterior. A sweet woman who’s a bit lost but determined to prove herself and learning more and more about the amazing person she is every step of the way. Allie turned out to be someone I could see myself calling a friend in real life. I found myself cheering her on every time she kept making strides in the world she was thrust into.
Luke is mister broody and a bit jaded by his past. A single father who’s only focus is on providing the best life he can for his daughter. The sparks fly the second these two meet with snap judgements being thrown around. Much like me Luke learned there’s much more than meets the eye when it comes to Allie and those sparks are soon becoming explosive chemistry.
Allie and Luke are headed for an undeniable touchdown as clash heads and hearts. If Allie had to make a list of things she never thought would happen, her estranged father leaving her his beloved football franchise would have been like right at the top of the list. Now she has a new job she has has zero ideas about how to even do with about a million people relying on her having a clue. Oh and her new neighbor just so happens to be her star quarterback and to put the cherry on that sundae he kinda hates her. Luke just wants to be some semblance of a good person. A good teammate and leader and a decent father to his daughter Faith. As he and Allie face off he finds it impossible to ignore the fact that she is just not what he thought or expected, but maybe just what he needs.
I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book.

This was my very first Karla Sorensen book and I must say, I don’t know why I’ve waited this long to devour her words. I got so into Luke and Allie’s tale that I couldn’t, for the love of all things holy, peel my eyes away from it once I dove in. From cover to cover, this book was just absolutely captivating and enthralling as hell. The Bombshell Effect definitely left me on a massive heart-thumping Washington Wolves cloud nine.
“Maybe she’d be my downfall. Maybe this would blow up in our faces. Maybe there’d be a day that I regretted that I ever had this stupid idea. But it wasn’t tonight.”
I was utterly, hopelessly enamored with Luke Pierson. He was the perfect single dad, even with his crazy tight schedule and position as the starting quarterback of his team. He had me eating at the palm of his hand, and that was just witnessing him with his daughter. Add onto that the way he was with Allie? It turned me into a heap of feels on the floor. And Alexandra Sutton—Miss Allie—she was so awe-inspiring. I loved the way she handled everything, even though she was thrown into a situation she never thought she’d be in. She was a fighter through and through—a gorgeous bombshell of a warrior who didn’t stop trying until she proved everybody wrong.
“He didn’t get the version of me that the rest of the world did. He got reality, not fantasy. And the fact that he did seem to prefer that made me want him even more.”
It’s a little bit of a slow burn, but the tension that grew between Allie and Luke was like a live wire crackling the whole time. And it wasn’t just that—it was also perfectly balanced out by the utter sweetness of Luke’s smart and adorable six-year old daughter, Faith, and the impact and intensity of the sport involved—football. It truly gave me a skin-tingling adrenaline high by the end of it all. And except in the beginning when Luke was a bit of an asshole, this was just all-encompassing, swoon-worthy goodness to boot. It’s the ultimate single dad/sports romance combo! Needless to say, Karla Sorensen has most certainly gained a new fangirl in me.
