From New York Times bestselling author Katy Regnery comes a brand new Blueberry Lane series! The Bohemian and the Businessman is the first of four books about the Philadelphia-based Story sisters who are all on the look-out for love.Priscilla Story, the self-proclaimed “wild child” of the straight-laced Story clan, has always had a knack for getting herself trouble. Except this time, her “growing … herself trouble. Except this time, her “growing problem” is going to require a Daddy sooner than later…or she can kiss her inheritance good-bye.
Shane Olson, who previously dated Priscilla’s sister, Margaret, isn’t opposed to a marriage of convenience for the sake of furthering his business interests, but Priscilla – with her wild ways – is just about the last woman he’d choose to marry.
In order to make the marriage look convincing, they end up having to spend more time together than they’d originally planned. When rolling stone, Priscilla, who lives by the seat of her muu-muu, and seriously-ambitious Shane, who’s had his whole life planned since he was eleven, start falling for each other, it’s going to take a whole lot of compromise for this Bohemian and her Businessman to find their happily ever after.

I have read a couple of books by the author and loved them all and this book is no different. I really loved reading it from beginning until end. An unconventional story about two people falling in love without knowing when they fell for each other…
After a bad break-up, Priscilla, returns home and has a ‘secret’ to tell to her family but she is not ready to do that yet and tries to buy some time. When an arranged meeting falls through between Shane and Priscilla’s sister, Priscilla makes him an offer he can’t refuse. But when all is said and done, both end up falling for each other and that’s not what either of them had planned out. But when secrets come out, Priscilla and Shane will have to decide whether they’ll have that happy ending everyone wants…
Opposites Attract
Priscilla is one if 5 daughters and the only line to go against the grain. Shane is one of 5 brothers from Wisconsin. He didn’t want to worry about money the rest of his life. He has been working at Story Imports but can’t get into upper management unless he marries a sister. He asked Margaret, but she refused. Pris came home pregnant & ashamed, but she hasn’t told her family. They need each other. Little did they know there were strings.
The Bohemian and The Businessman was my first Blueberry Lane story. It can definitely be read as a standalone, but it hooked me in and now I want to go back and see what I’ve been missing!
Priscilla Story is the artsy free spirited Story sister. She has been a bit of a wanderer. She returns home when she finds herself in a situation where she is going to need help from her family who in the past have not been extremely supportive.
Priscilla’s dad is ridiculously old fashioned and a complete jerk on top of that. He is looking for someone to take over the helm of his business but insists that it must be a man who marries one of his daughters.
Priscilla’s back story is a bit heartbreaking. She really just puts the past behind her and goes on, but the repercussions show up in everything she does!!
“You say whatever you want to say…You don’t have to censor yourself or worry about my reaction. It’s okay with me. All of it. Anything.”
Shane is practical and looking for a way to advance his career. He was dating Priscilla’s sister, Margaret Story but it was a relationship of convenience. Priscilla offers a proposition to Shane that will help them both get what they think they want.
“My feelings for you are so…new, but they’re so strong and wild and real.” He gulped. “They’re real. I’ve never felt like this before.”
At times I really felt like Shane needed to man up and alpha up a bit, but when Priscilla was under duress he came through for her. I loved the strength of Priscilla and have to admit that I did end up swooning a bit for the romantic side of Shane!
4.5 Stars!!
Cute start to a new series. Priscilla is the wild child free spirit of the five Story sisters. She finds herself knocked up from a married French cad. She has come home to her overbearing sexist fathers home. She is in a bad situation and needs a way to get to her trust (she has to be 40 or married). Shane was a scholarship kid who wants to get away from his Wisconsin farmer roots. Shane works for Priscilla’s father, and will only give a promotion to a family member and suggests he marry his daughter Margaret. After a disastrous rejected proposal, Priscilla suggests to Shane that they enter into a marriage of convenience. She will be able to get the trust, he gets his promotion. What neither of them expected is that they would develop feelings for each other. I loved both Shane and Priscilla. What kept this from being a four star read for me was how over the top awful the father was.
